I visited GAVIN & STACEY filming locations...in WALES!

I took a day-trip to nearby Wales to check out the filming locations for one of my favourite shows of all time - Gavin and Stacey! I managed to see so much - including Pam & Mick's House, the church where Nessa and Dave Coaches (almost) got married, and even the site of Pete's battle with some Coldplay lyrics! These locations were all in Wales - just outside Barry & Cardiff - and I will be coming back for a part 2, and maybe a part 3! Hope you all enjoy!

This is the best location filming upload ever. No messing around and jibber jabber before you get to the places. Well explained and I enjoyed it. I am in a terrible place in my life right now. Watched G & S when it was first shown and fell in love with it. I left the UK now and live in Ibiza but due to my mindset at the moment I am watching it over and over because it’s all I have thats keeping me going right now. Was seriously thinking about buying a place in the Barry/ Vale of Glamorgan area to go back to and just reflect. I like the way you haven’t made it all about what you’ve found or what you know. Well made enjoyable video. The show is all I have in my life sadly. I am so lost in this life so thank you.. Thank you from someone who’s probably the most miserable, depressed person in the world right now. 😢

great video 😁👍 I’ve rewatched Gavin and Stacey annually for about a decade or so, and as an Australian pretty much everything I know about Wales is from this show! haha

I lived in cornwall all my life but my daughter went to Cardiff uni and loved Wales so much she stayed there, married a Welsh teacher and we lost touch.
This is great - great to see all locations ❤

@@FromTheAsh I went last year to Barry but went on the train from Lincolnshire so I only got to see Gwens house and Barry island locations , would love to have gone to Pam and Micks or the village hall locations etc
I want to recreate this trip! Amazing research, well done!

Fun fact: I worked as a wedding DJ in the Manor Parc Country Hotel for nearly 20 years often in the very room where the pair had their wedding party. I lugged my DJ equipment in and out if those doors more times than I care to remember!

@@FromTheAsh Yes, I finished DJing in 2009. I wasn’t there or involved in the filming in 2007 but I remember being told there was filming going on although at the time of course the show hadn’t aired yet so they didn’t make it out to be a particularly big deal. If only they’d known!!

Not filmed it yet - I ended up leaving the area quicker than expected. But the video is on my radar, hoping to do it this summer :)

Great video mate, look forward to the Barry ones! I like how you got some of the wedding locations. I got married, myself 2 weeks ago! Went to Brighton for a short "mini moon" & a night in Brighton to see a musical, it was rampacked!! Definitely want to check out Gordon's wine bar next time! Proper honeymoon abroad next year!😁👍
