I've Seen It Both Ways (Original feat. Gabe Terracciano)
With everything still set up for "The Race Is On" (except for one dead light), Gabe and I decided we weren't done playing, and he asked if I had any originals I wanted to perform. I had this on hand as a draft from the week before, so we cut it. This year has been a very, very challenging one for me in terms of mental health and physical health (my back issues), so I suppose I was reflecting on that.

Gabe can play those fiddle strings!
Just to show how far from it’s roots that country music has strayed. I’m a 77 year old man and I know time and music will change but how can the world not recognize the purity of this country music. Carson and his friends are producing the best songs and are not getting the recognition they deserve. Hang in there people ,with talent like this its bound to come back. Thanks Carson-You’re the best.
This is a beautiful song. I remember asking Carson if he had any original tunes he wanted to record and he said this one wasn’t finished yet but we could give it a try. As soon as I’d heard it through I thought it sounded like someone wrote a sequel to “Together Again” by Buck Owens. It’s difficult to add a second voice into a song that already has such a strong identity, but I was happy to try my best. Always grateful to make music with you, dude!

Appreciate that, man-I didn’t *think* the song was complete until I heard you play on it. Thank you for that, and until next time!!

I’m a big fan of yours, Gabe; and Carson too, of course. Your participation in the Halloween livestream with The Other Favorites a few years ago was awesome!
Carson, this is the shit!! Willie, Ray Price, The Possum, Patsy Cline... They all haunt this song and live within it! This song is indeed finished! Anything added would be a detraction. Gabe is not only a smart man, but a damn fine fiddle player (understatement)! Together you guys are money!! Keep after it!!!
Great song and good gracious what a pure fiddle tone, the pure fiddle tone of the world
You have an old country soul that is just as relevant today. I love your original songs
This is a beautifully crafted song, you're singing as well as ever, and Gabe's sensitive playing is just the icing on the cake. Great work, guys.
My other favorite of The Other Favorites! And, Gabe, your singing and playing was perfect. Hang in there, Carson.
The Other Favorites, with friends like Gabe Terraciano, that will be a great album to look forward to. With this tune included.
May the challenges of your year become less burdensome. Thank you for continuing to share your art - it provides such a wonderful escape for the rest of us.
Impressive. This would fit right in on my grandpa's greatest country cassette of all time
damn, that is a great song! I can’t believe you wrote that. I thought you were covering a classic that I had never heard! I had to check the title again. Amazing!

Me too, I felt the same way and did the same thing. Great job Carson. Thank you.
Two Carson and Gabe videos in 2 weeks? We are truly blessed. Loving the font you used for the title. Great recording as always.
Love these classic songs. I used to listen to this on the radio back in the... wait, what? This is new and original? Well, it SOUNDS like a classic to me. Beeeeyootiful!
Great tune! I'm a Bluegrass guy so I'm a somewhat partial to the C&W, Bluegrass and Old Time. As to the other issues. It's tough to be vulnerable...takes some juevos. I'll share a smidge. I'm 64. By all accounts, I suppose I've had some good success. Great kids (your age or so) who have been pretty successful musicians as well as professionals. Cool grandkids. A great 41 year marriage. Pretty close to the top position in my state for my profession. Now hear this: I STILL HIT EMOTIONAL TROUGHS. I still hit the, "Well, you could of, would have, should have." I have to fight through, knowing that it will pass. In the meantime, what do I do? I make myself get up and get out (seeking interaction which is what I don't want while in the trough). I try to encourage others. I consistently exercise including hiking, jogging and strength training. I am alcohol and drug free. I do everything possible to keep some elements of routine. I eat right. I continue to play music but resist the urge to "sink" into it expecting the reflection to extract me. I pray...yes pray. I'm sounding like a dad to his kid...can't help it. In any case. Hope something useful arises from the discourse. Keep moving forward my friend.

Yes, thank you - Carson's Mom.
I keep coming back to this song ❤👍👍👍👍
That song is FABULOUS!!! Why hasn't a record producer grabbed you up and signed you! I think this is my favorite original.
You should be very proud of this one. What a simple and profound melody. I always say “a well-written song induces synesthesia.”, and this song definitely made me see and feel the excitement and heartbreak of life’s ups and downs. I’ve felt them both my brother.

When I was young my mom told me the best art, of any kind, can be experienced by more senses than the obvious ones. That simple sentence opened my mind and made room for greater depths and joys.
Wow, guys! I very much enjoyed this! Thanks so much!
Rushes to listen!!! Well well well what a gem this song is !!! Knowing you, you always bounce back from your health issues. This song is meaningful and sung and played with your usual precision. Always a fan of whatever you do. Keep going

Carson. You are so talented! This song is excellent and expresses the human condition in a simple yet elegant manner. Please keep writing and recording songs from your heart. They are most appreciated.
I do not make it a habit to comment on every video. Not really sure how many people read and I was not going to write anything. Oh my goodness, that was a very fine piece of music and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Is it a natural law, that great artists must suffer more? Would your art be so fine without you being sensitive? Aren't you able to feel greater joys than us? We never will be able to thank you enough for sharing your art. ❤

Why exactly don't you have a recording contract? You should move to Nashville. You are an incredible performer, as good or better than most of the "stars" out there.
Blurring the line between violin and fiddle.
