Ash, I have a request. You have covered most of the Karnataka cricketers from Venkatesh Prasad, Javagal Srinath and Anil Kumble. It will be great if you can have Rahul Dravid in your show. Being a Bangalorean and ardent fan of Rahul Dravid, would be a real treat.

So many lessons learnt from this interview. I loved it.

Great to see Ramesh after a while, I have witnessed his hundred in SSC 1999 , him and Dravid had wonderful partnership, against Srilankan attck which had legendary bowlers like Vass and Murali.. He did talk to us in tamil about Pepsi uma 😀 , such a down to earth person. !!

Ash - You are TN’s Pride 🙏 Your current series of interviews has been awesome. One request - Can you interview people like Sharath(ATG) who has played abundance of Ranji matches but dint make the cut to Indian team. We atleast know little bit about Players like Ramesh,Badani,Sriram as they played briefly for India. But Players like ATG are not much known of but surely a great talent and hence it will be opportunity for we fans to know more about those sort of players. He is what Amol Majumder was to Mumbai.

It was an enjoyable trivia.... Threw light on many of us as to what sadagopan was upto after his team india exit.... He was right in pointing out to focus the next goal and achieve it rather than the unseen far away one.... it was so exciting too seeing him coming on TV for last IPL...this really reminded me of my own experience as a decent all-rounder when I was working in a private concern, my club manager happened to come to my work spot and told me that had you played for 3 more months, you would be been considered for Karnataka Ranji in 1989....But that is part and parcel of life...though I am still connected with the game (playing, watching etc) being my passion

Ramesh was an amazing batsman. He played a very clutch innings in his first series itself and helped India win the match. It's a shame he played hardly 2 years for India. Last I heard, he was doing well on TV. Wish him the very best in whatever he takes up. Such a cool guy, and very insightful.

People often forget the contributions of S.Ramesh in the matches he has played. When I watched his debut against Pakistan, I thought he was one of those 90s guys who will fail. Cos we had loads of such openers. But the way he calmly played the early swinging deliveries of Akram and then those classy leg side shots.. I knew he was mentally a very solid player. Sad we lost him due to Dada's bad judgement.

Absolutely! These days young cricketers have the IPL which can secure their financial future but back then, there was nothing other than going back to a job with their corporate sponsor and anonymity. To maintain a cheerful disposition and a positive attitude despite the enormity of lost opportunity is commendable.

Much appreciated Ashwin. Bringing old players like SD Ramesh is really commendable. Also talk with other great players like Tinu Yohannan and others, so that the young people can know how hard it is for a player from southern part of India is struggling to cover up the "So called mafia Reasons" that he mentioned here!!

Sadagopan Ramesh was a class player. He had a big disadvantage of lack of foot work . Yet he had great hand eye coordination. He shined a lot in domestic cricket.

Ramesh can greatly contribute to pragmatically grooming young cricketers. He has an approach, that is very evident from his life lessons, which will be of immense help to up and coming cricketers. Also, I feel that he doesn't hold any grudges for him not being given a chance when he proved his form back for Kerala, etc. Our country has a lot of cricketing talent and this invariably means that the cost of a mistake is too high. If he can guide youngsters on this, it will be of immense help.
