FYI @Anthomnia, Godzilla 1998 is actually called just Zilla by the fans of Godzilla, which I am a bit of a fan. I think it was a good thing that Zilla got his butt kicked by the actual Godzilla in Godzilla Final Wars, just to show him who was REALLY king of the monsters. Also I kinda get a pinch annoyed when you call him Godzilla, Zilla I mean.

Now being the Godzilla fan that I am, I consider the 1998 Godzilla film a form of heresy to the incredible Japanese and 2019 and 2022 American films. However, in this case, I REALLY love this and it also makes sense due to the 1998 version looking closer to a T-rex than a giant radioactive lizard. So in this case, I do love it. Another fact I want to share, after the 2004 Godzilla film came out, the director stated that Godzilla would just be on a small break and be back in a decade or so and lo and behold, in 2014, a decade later, Godzilla returned. The thing I really love is that Godzilla is being referenced in a LOT of things. Hell, he is referenced in a metal gear solid game, appears in a MHA episode ( I don't watch the show, I just saw someone bring it up at one point), and a lot of other things. So this really means a lot to me as Godzilla was a part of my childhood.

I have always loved modding in games so seeing the isle community bring mods back is an absolute joy to me. I just wish the devs were a little more accepting of this kind of stuff but I ain't a game dev so I don't really know what goes on behind the scenes for them to be so against it.

Great video, Anth! Especially the last part was something important! As a part of the modder team i can confirm that everything we do is NOT made out of disrespect or anything towards the Devs. We would love to have a normal conversation with them about this whole topic, which we sadly haven't had a chance to yet. We want them to hear us and our thoughts about Legacy modding out. We also want to hear THEIR point of view about all of this. I also want to address something important. The models are NOT given out. Every member from our modder team figured this out themself. We do NOT distribute any game files/assets to people to play around with. This is something we're extremely strict and careful with. Every single mod we create is out of pure love and passion for this game and its community. Never ever would we accept any financial "support" for this or sell mods to individuals. We don't want to profit off of this game, we don't want to ruin this game, we don't want to "be better" than the Devs. Without them the game wouldn't even exist. We simply want to express our love for it and give the community something back and maybe a reason to stick around a bit longer, til Evrima is finished. If, by any chance, the Devs watch this video and read the comments, they're more then welcome to get in touch with us. They know where to find us. All we want is love, peace and being creative ♥

It reminded me of an atomic T-Rex. Very old mode that allowed Rex to actually exhale beams of plasma. The mode was introduced like almost a month or something like that after Isle only started gaining popularity

Definitely glad you put that last part in there. At the end of the day, this is Afterthought's game and they made or purchased all of the assets/models. Modding is really cool, however there are a lot of things that can go wrong regarding terms of service, copyright claims(specifically for the Indominus, Indoraptor, and Zilla models) and multiple other things that many people I have found don't seem to understand. As someone who has made custom models, animations, and levels before which has cost me many hours, it would be extremely frustrating for someone to extract that work and give it to literally anyone for free. so thank you for adding those thoughts and words in the last portion of your video.

I love it. Everyone I've met says they are not a fan of the Zilla movie but I actually quite like it so this mod is amazing. If you add an actual Godzilla to this game, it would destroy everything

Well, technically it is Godzilla. The IPs of Godzilla 1998 and Zilla are separate, so they are separate characters entirely, therefore this is Godzilla. But yes

Jazzy here again! Glad you liked my Zilla mod! He has been a pain in the ass to work on, but holy crap even this older version looks good... It's still awesome as always to see you enjoying the mods! Hey Anthomnia, I did a couple of mods, like the tophats, glasses, and some other things. Just letting you know, people don't give out the models to whoever. Every Modder has to figure out how to get the models on their own, they aren't given out. So I personally think it will be fine.

Unfortunately, making new anims for Zilla (or any mod I create for that matter) is beyond my skillset 😭I do wish to one day be able to do that type of stuff, but today is not said day.

The fact that so many people still play legacy should make developers realize something...that people don't need super duper quality and a million mechanics to have fun. They need variety, good gameplay, the possibility of interesting choices. Even supporting mods like path of titans gives people a lot of scope and a lot of fun creating mods and playing with them. Mods should be supported by developers. The game is for the people/players, not the creators. Players should enjoy playing and have fun, and developers should ensure that.

Sometimes I feel like if we gave the control over the game's development to modders, the game's content would be 50 times further than it currently is.

I just thought of a new mod idea, hear me out, it'd be hilarious. Karen Spino. The spino has a claw swipe, so make it holding a purse, make it yassified / karen-esque (lipstick, eyelashes, u get it). Then when it does the swipe attack it'll be whacking stuff with a purse XD- Also turn all its calls into deranged karen screams/noises.

This is too cool.

I'll forever support modding community, i feel for games with open world, those are REQUIRED in order to let the game live a way longer life. I mean look at how ARK is doing, they're embraced the modding community and it was worth it. The community is soo alive, even aside of new content that ark publishers put out. Or whole GMod stuff. it's been YEARS and it's still something new. Especially with Dino games, where there's THOUSANDS of different dinosaurs, and everyone has their own favourites. Modding allows such a new wave of content, BUT it has do be done a fair way.

The only idea I want to throw out there is making multiple phenotypes for one species like in humans and a generalized vibe going with it like fang and red from primal if they were the same species. If they weren't it would be cool if they were.

If stat modding would be a thing. I would just rent out a server where I would nerf the Dilos to the GROUND. They terrorized every of my playtimes on the isle with how op they are, and I allways felt dissapointed, that the devs never came back just for a hotfix, to tune their opness down.

The first godzilla movie I saw was the 1998 version and I loved it.. the newer ones are a big turn off for me especially with the Lazer coming from its mouth.. But one dinosaur I'd love to see is the Argentinosaurus one of the bigger sauropods ever I think it was bigger than the titanosaur

Zilla is built on Giga, and I think the server Anth uses to show off the mods is Asura.

I actually liked the 1998 godzilla design due to the more reptilian and feral look it had, like it looked like it was just minding its own business like every animal does, but due to circumstances it caused havoc for humans, kinda like the first godzilla where it never was targeting humans and was just going about its day but unfortunately caused suffering due to the circumstances. Meanwhile, the normal and modern depictions of godzilla actually do things to make sure other titans don't get out of control, like with the mutos or hell ghidorah, with how he was able to control stuff Though the exception for 1998 was that one of the babies that ended up surviving was much more like the typical godzilla in behavior mixed with feral animalistic behavior its mother had, so in the cartoon, yes the 1998 had a cartoon series that was the basic sequel to the movie that was thought of as much better in comparison to the source material of the movie its meant to be a direct sequel of. And the godzilla in it ends up being infertile from what I remember, so no more baby clone zillas lmao. I do recommend watching the series though, that godzilla fights a lot of bizzare mutant titans and stuff, and has a cute bond with a human whom he met when he first hatched, so he acts as if the guy is his mother and will destroy beasts to protect him, but will often not listen to him like a rebellious teenager and do what the hell he wants anyways lmao.

@@gabriledella653 Zilla is what people refer to the 1998 Goji, it's sun in the animated series is the one that people accept the name of Godzilla for. Hence why they said "That's Zilla" technically correct and incorrect but it's based on 98 so it's Zilla as that is their trademark for it since Final Wars. Yes, it is supposed to be the 98 Zilla.

@@Frostbyte115 The trademark in final wars is different. The FW and forward is Zilla, the 1998, and animated series is trademarked as Godzilla. They are different, the trademarks are separate. But the fans calling it Zilla because they don't like it is fine. But the Kaiju is legally Godzilla unless it's the FW or Rulers of earth version, which it doesn't seem to be

Does this mean with all these new features coming to legacy, the isle legacy won't get shut down??

feels like the models arms for godzilla are a little small considering that version of godzilla was able to run on all fours. Dont get me wrong by no means am I intending to criticize your model just felt Id point that out though. Either way it looks great!
