I had a restaurant and we had a group of workers that always called in 15 orders of our giant burgers for the next day pickup and we would prepare the boxes for the burger and fry the evening with the name of the person on the box..and we’d put a number on the box that corresponded with their ticket number..made it fairly easy to make sure the person received the right order

So many people around me like Condado’s but I completely agree with you! It looks good and sounds fancy but when you eat it, it just doesn’t taste right somehow and is a let down.

This is my exact experience with condado! And because it looks and sounds so good, I’ve tried a few times, but it just always tastes off or misses the mark for me.

I absolutely agree. Everything is about atmosphere and packaging quality of food out the window. .

I used to live around the block from the Candado's in Columbus and it was delicious! But it was a bingo menu structure where you build your own. Was more than a decade ago and I'm sure their menu has changed since then.

As a mexican, pineapple in a pico de gallo it's a crime

We made a hood vegetarian taco meat out of tofu skin we soaked and shredded them in seasoning mix and lightly fried the crinkly strips. Added to grilled veg like sweet peppers and sweet onions and a few fire roasted pobleno peppers (edit we also had refried beans)and lots of guacamole and good Pico and cheese but vegans can use veg shred cheese My friends use eggs/milk in their diets but raise chicken and have a milk cow. They are not meat by any stretch but they are tasty and good protein in a meatless dish. Tofu skin is pretty versatile to add to things and very easy to make at home. I bet we'll seasoned seitan would work too and that's somewhat easy to make at home too. A little time consuming but worth it if you need meat free but need just a bit more than beans. It can be flavored in so many ways even with nutritional yeast and mushroom to kick up the umami

I have been there before and it is not a good place to eat if you are very hungry

On the outside of the box and on the inside flap I noticed in a black marker 1-6. I think the number system was their labeling of each taco. It was packed in the order the item was ordered. That's my assumption-hope it helps ❤

These taco names sound an awful lot like strains of weed… maybe they’re catering to stoners who are so munchy they don’t care what it tastes like 😂

Girl, thanks for this. I just don't get Condado, never have. I've tried it 3 times, and i think it just plain sucks. It's all hype. They put their locations in touristy type areas. I think people say they like it because they think they're supposed to, but if you actually go and eat the food, it's garbage. I wish more people would expose it for what it is and they'd fade out.. So much better Mexican out there

I personally LOVE Condado! But I get the same thing every time- Sweet Lucy’s Double Decker Taco and their chips and green tomatillo dip is just soo good! They’re deep fried chips and just different from most of the Mexican places around. I would agree that all the things you got didn’t look great though. Such a bummer!

I totally agree!!! Been to Condado twice, and it all tastes quite artificial / preserved to me. I slightly liked one of the cheesy chicken double layer tacos I had, but that’s about it. The cheese dip isn’t even good. I’d much rather have Chipotle, or any local Mexican restaurant.

i went there once when they opened and my sisters and i liked the dips and the pitcher of margaritas is good

Fellow toledoan here! For better tacos try carnales taqueria or Carlos Poco Loco they’re my faves, Carlos is a Mexican-Cuban fusion restaurant downtown and the only place I know of in the city that has Cuban food

I love condado but I only do custom tacos, the premade ones on the menu are weird.

I feel like its one of those places that was good maybe in the beginning or good on the right days but is not consistently. I dunno why but thats the vibe i have. But maybe its always been bad.

The only thing I really like from Codado is their queso fundio, but I like it so much I will go there just for that lol

Moe’s. Moe’s over Condado, Chipotle, Qdoba, basically all of them. Moe’s will forever be on top!

In my restaurant we had multicolored plates, but only 3 green ones. They were called the "asshole plates", reserved for difficult customers. Our version of compromising someone's food without doing it. Always a hoot wirh the staff AND regulars who knew of it.

A lot of places will try to fool you into thinking they’re good with surface stuff: Packaging, ambience, or even generous portions. But if the food is lacking or the service is bad? Not worth my money.

I've always been that way too. I hate when you end up knowing you could have done better at home with your own cooking. My daughter used to tell me I was full of myself lol but as she moved out and lived on her own and started cooking and paying her own way she finally admitted that my cooking was better and she understands now lol We went to Tony roma macaroni grill and she wanted lasagna and almost cried cuz it wasn't anything as good as mine lol and it was expensive lol 😅 I taught her my recipe and she doesn't order any more lol The only thing I suck at is meatloaf. I know right ?🤣 It's either too dry or too wet lol. I can make killer meatballs you think it transfer properly lol but nope. My son in law makes killer meatloaf with the bacon and tomato sauce/ketchup on top I love it cold next day on a sandwich lol

Looks good, tastes bad is the literal worst kind of food. Because they did (mostly) look really good.

I went to a place called Taco Dive in town. It had good reviews but I thought the tacos were nothing to write home about. Average at best. I could have made better at home.

Condado is just a fancy experimental taco place. Waste of money.

I tried Condados several years ago when it was new to my area. People were acting like it was so amazingly good. I didn't think the food was good at all! Tasted weird and bad. And yes the seating in there was all cramped and uncomfortable.

As a mexican, respectfully, none of those look like they would taste good.
