There are still some real gems if you can find independent stores. Fred Aldous in Leeds is one example. Sadly, with the giant Hobbycraft pushing smaller stores out it's getting harder to find the independents.

FYI, prismacolors look differently in the black sketchbook than they do on white paper. I was drawing a Caucasian person and I used pale peach, like I normally do, and she turned out looking WHITE. So yeah, some of the paler colors look almost white on black paper. But the brighter colors look really nice.

Chloe! I just thought of this. At my Michaels, and I'm pretty sure other Michaels they sell copics. You should have waited to buy the Copic markers on Black Friday, if you could get any. Also by the way I'm only halfway through the video so... If you bought those I am sorry. I didn't see that part yet apparently.

The Strathmore mixed media and Crescent Rendr sketchbooks are the best sketchbooks I've used with Copics so far. So if you ever need options, there's two!

ooh i have a tip for sketchbooks!! i like to scope out sketchbooks in weird places. i got an old, unused recipe book at a garage sale and it works wonderfully for graphite. you just have to be really creative sometimes!!

Meowmeowkittylover I got a Canson watercolor which I’m in love with and another sketchbook but I’m not sure what brand it’s by but it’s not great with my alcohol markers so I’m sad about that. I have considered illo but I’m not great at drawing big and the size of them is a bit too big for me

@@stefanie_e3837 I usually just go for really thick papers with vellum surface. Strathmore is a great brand and you can get a big mix media sketchbook by them for 10 bucks. Or less with a coupon

I have that same cart in that same color and it is GORGEOUS and SO HELPFUL. If you plan to roll it around though, don't tighten the wheels all the way. But it's really easy to put together and holds more than it looks x

Gratz on recognition, that's awesome :) In my experience canson marker papers bleed through, I've been told here in an art store that they are meant for quick sketching for architects and fashion designers :( They're great though if you just want to test if colors blend together, or just throw together a quick color palette for a piece. Personally I use a super cheap hot pressed watercolor paper haha, yes the paper sucks up more ink than an actual copic artist pad, but I don't want to wait forever for amazon shipping just to be able to get an idea down on a paper. Also a tip, don't color all the way to the lines, copics do feather out a little bit, it gets some getting used to it but if you go all the way to your lineart you're gonna end up with color past your lines for sure. Nice haul, thank you :)

I somehow ended up at Michael's three times over the weekend. I picked up that cart as well, super helpful so far.

panda_pudding _1 we have lots of stuff, but places like michaels are craft shops (not a lot of art supplies more craft stuff) but places like blick which are art specialty stores are packed...it’s very expensive though. i just spent $40 on 4 oil paints and a thinner

FINALLY!! A youtuber who bought marker paper for their markers! You’ll find your markers blend so much better and don’t bleed as much and it’s just a better experience with marler paper!

Yes!! Definitely do it again next year!! Also if you want a marker paper that doesn’t bleed even with alcohol based markers would be the cresant rendr sketchbook! You can draw on both sides with copic markers and the paper doesn’t bleed at all. You can do as many layers of Copics that you want and it will not bleed.

I really liked this! You should do more art vlogs!! ❤️❤️

Ooh painting on wood is really nice, it’s smooth and super stiff, it’s a great surface. I hope you try it. In the old days (pre 1500s) nearly everything was painted on wood. I’ve just done a terrible vid on my channel of how I make very very cheap panels to paint on (but very good ones). I can send you one to try if you’d like (let me know if you do).

I can’t wait to see all of the pieces you will make with the pile of supplies you bought! I will say I did go kind of crazy the other day ordering art supplies online as well. The Finetec water colors were kind of mesmerizing me, so obviously I had to purchase them, but it wasn’t a bad deal on Amazon.

I have the Tombow Grey set. I really enjoy it. Started moving on to copics though.

I bought a rolling cart from Michaels about two weeks ago. It has 10 drawers and I love it. It took way to long for me to actually open the box to put it together. But I plan on grabbing about four or five more for my Studio.
