@@JonathanYentch welcome to the north east. Enjoy the fall foliage! Drink some warm apple cider, do a corn maze if you have time. Btw Amish/Mennonites have some of the best fresh produce and baked goods. If you can find a local farmers market on the weekend nearby you may find some!

Never cross at osooyoos. They believe everyone there is hauling drugs and will literally tear your car apart. Never have any trouble crossing in manitoba, sask or Alberta.

Jonathan, I live in north central Ohio, the people in buggies are Amish. They aren't weird or strange. They choose to live without modern conveniences, like we all lived 150 years ago. They are very industrious, hard working folks. Please be kind with your comments! Maybe even wave, they generally will wave back. I have the highest respect for the Amish & their way of life.

Amen!
If you haven't planned on it already, I'd recommend driving the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire for S tier foliage on your way to Portland. Lots of great hikes in that area as well!
If you had been there a month earlier, it would have been a joy to behold. Upstate NY is a wonderful place in the summer and early fall.
Fwiiw to ya, this is what I watch RV videos for ! It's the scenery , the scenery ! Cooking is fine and tolerable but for folks like me that never get to go anywhere this video is like a breath of fresh air and seeing parts of our country I will probably never get to see other wise ! Thanks for the views ! I'm trying to get out there but everything gosts so much ! New truck campers are like , for rich people ! Bought a 3/4 ton with a 6.0 power stroke. . . . All I've done is work on it . Kind of like your path to a good camper ! LOL ! Live and learn , right ! Safe trip , enjoy all of it you can because a part of our own government seeks to take that kind of freedom away from us ! That is why I'm trying to get out there as soon as possible. As soon as I can scrape up another 5K to get this truck right ! 8 ) Thanks again for sharing Jonathan . Check out YT , Kenny of All Trades , He posts on Tuesdays and camps all around Minnesota . He camps out of a nice Artic Fox truck camper ! His channel will give you an idea how to find nice dispersted camping in Minnesota , if you go through there ! Loving the upstate NY scenery !
You might have come across some Amish or Mennonites. They often still use carriages and buggies and eschew modern technology. Welcome to the East Side! Temps will be getting very low from now on. Mid-winter temps? That's early Fall, it gets colder, LOL. OH!! Upstate NY!! There are a ton of great places to hike and see things in the Adirondacks! Go to Old Forge and see the Hardware store--Awesome! Yes-- be very careful in the Northeast--lots of critters out and about. You may see bears, deer, and moose. Get set to see some of the best foliage in the country right now! Have a great time! So excited to see what you think of this part of the country!
Hello Jonathan and welcome to New York. I'm glad to see that you are feeling better. Don't worry about missing the turning leaves; if you're heading south you will still have a chance to catch up with them. I live on Long Island and we still have a lot of color here. I'm looking forward to following along with the rest of your trip.
Thank you so much for all the beautiful views! My granddaughter is going to the CIA (culinary institute of America) located in Hyde’s Park, NY studying baking. She comes home every few weeks as we are only a little under 2 hours away ( we live in central Jersey) - the family takes turns driving her back and forth and last week the trees were giving us guide a show the farther north we went. By the way, the deer are called a buck for the male (they have antlers) and a doe for the female (somewhat smaller and no antlers). You really have to be careful at night on the road as they frequently run across the roads and if you hit them it usually does quite a number on your vehicle. Now that you have reached the east coast you may want to slow down a bit and perhaps stop around sundown to avoid that danger. Thanks so much for taking us on your journey. Can’t wait till you go to Maine - I so love it there. My late husbands family has a cabin on the Kennebec river near Bath. You should definitely go there to see where they build the giant naval ships- last year they built a weird destroyer that looked like an alien ship. When they take them out for their maiden voyage they go right past the family cabin. A few times we have actually been there to see it go by - it’s amazing! Also a bit north of Bath on the main road there is a place called Reds Eats. ( I think it is in the town of Wiscasset) They serve a gigantic lobster roll that is delicious. But you have to get there early in the day or the line is very long. If I were you I would slow down and start enjoying some true sight seeing!
You have been through some absolutely beautiful country at the most amazing time of the year for color, So my question is in your fourteen hour journey are you enjoying the trip? I am glad you made it to the east coast But I want to make sure that you are enjoying the journey. The scenery the beauty and make sure you show it to us too. Exciting adventure so stop and smell the roses❤
The people you saw in the carriages are Amish/Mennonites. We could learn a lot from them. I love the way they live. ❤
The people in the horse drawn carriages and ‘classic’ clothing are either Amish or Mennonites. They are also all over the USA, especially Pennsylvania and the Midwest. They can be seen on the railroad cameras at La Plata, Missouri. They can ride in cars and trains, as long as they themselves aren’t driving them; ergo, the horse-drawn vehicles.
We live in Central Wisconsin and there is a lg population of Amish here. We are friends w/a lot of them. My husband hires a man named Moses who does a lot of odd jobs for us. They are such nice, sincere, & honest ppl. We had some Amish children come to our house and their eyes were googling in amazement at everything they saw. Also when we go to their house, they just stare at us the whole time. Everyone who's not Amish are considered English. We are from Fresno, CA so it's a whole new different world since we moved here. We have 80 acres!

Whoa! I’m from Clovis. Your comment is so intriguing as I’ve only read about Amish and watched couple of documentaries. I bet summers are still hot but different.

@@user-hg1dt9hp5fWe are actually from Clovis LOL! I just mentioned Fresno b/c most ppl have heard of it. My son was in the 1st graduating class from Buchanan Hi School. We live on 80 acres here. We moved 20 yrs ago after my husband retired from teaching. We grow our own beef, have huge gardens, have our own well, burn our own wood Having Amish friends is a plus so unique. We see them all the time in their wagons. I also go to Mayo Hospital here in WI. I will being going to Mayo Rochester in MN in 2 wks. I never imagined that in Clovis! A complicated case, I am!
Love this ❤. I’m so happy your channel is going so well, I subbed when you were just starting out!
Great to see you feeling better. Beautiful scenery.
It's not just in Canada. Here in Louisiana, there is a large population of Mennonites who travel by horsedrawn carriages.
Great to see you venturing out- enjoy your journey JY
Hello Johnathan you finally made it on East coast and in Canada be safe and enjoy.
Hello Jonathan glad to hear that you’re feeling better and that you didn’t cause any accidents with you or the deer safe travels to you on your continued adventures and journey 😊
As a California it blows my mind that October wouldn't be peak fall foliage season since our "fall" comes late in October into November. So crazy how different areas of our country have way different timelines for seasons! Great video
Good to know you're feeling better. It sucks getting sick and it's worse when you are traveling.
Hey Johnathon....driving through Ontario seeing horse drawn carriages with people who look like they're from another century? That would be the Amish /Mennonites. Pretty cool encounters. Glad you made it to the East coast. Cheers from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Yes they are Mennonite’s . They originated from Pennsylvania. They left America because they didn’t want to fight in the civil war. They also found really fertile soil throughout Ontario for farming. Welcome to South Western Ontario . Enjoy your short stay. 🇨🇦 🍁 🏔️

Mennonites drive cars. Amish use horse and buggy.
Keep the videos coming im loving this! You are inspiring me to start car camping. I don't have a truck so i cant go the camper route! But i have a 4x4 so Im going to just give it a shot!
Happy trails!!!
Welcome to the east coast! Glad you're feeling better.
Beautiful scenery! Thanks for sharing
I am glad you are getting to experience this side of the country. Yes its different. I have lived on both sides, they are both awesome!
Beautiful landscape ❤
Welcome to New York! Yes, the leaves were peaking about a 2 weeks ago, the more southern NY you go there are still leaves on trees but they're falling off every day. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing with us. I needed some positive today.
Such a great scenic drive Jonathon. Nice to see some bit of Canada too!
Safe travels. 😊
That was fun, thanks for the awesome scenery.
Most people don't realize New York is farmland and woods, they think of nyc
Yay! You made it. That deer story was harrowing. Early AM enjoying your video while sipping my Kalita system pour over coffee and sourdough French toast. A few years ago we did some “leaf peeping” in Vermont, Brattleboro area.Beautiful and breathtaking. We don’t have that depth and breadth of color out here in the Bay Area. You should watch the Harrison Ford thriller, “ Witness” and see a Hollywood depiction of the Amish in Pennsylvania, lol. Stay safe and enjoy!
If you have the time, you should head south, the Blue Ridge Parkway is beautiful this time of year.
Sweet!! Loved your video!
Great to follow. Love the details.
how little you know of the east is refreshing and entertaining to me because that’s almost all i’ve known my whole life. yeah…dark narrow roads that want to swallow you are a thing in upstate!
Glad you're feeling better. ☺️✌️
Glad your feeling better John , wow you covered alot of miles since the last video. Yes totally agree New England is a charming 😀
Great video, as always.
Oh man! Stoked to see you finally in the Northeast! I grew up spending my summers in the Adirondack park. It is truly a very special region.
So beautiful !!!! Thank you for the Awesome content!
Wonderful trip. Thanks
A buck is a deer. 😂😂 you are firing on all cylinders today.
Beautiful views!!! Love watching your traveling videos..❤❤
So awesome that you're making this journey. I grew up in the southern Vermont/Upstate NY area. I live in Michigan now with my wife but we are heading back that way for a wedding in the south western Massachusetts area next week. Will be cool to know we might be close! Have fun and be safe!
Safe travels
Welcome to Canada!!! ❤❤
Oh!!! I love the deer story
You definitely caught some beautiful nature. Wow and you’re really making some headway. ❤
Great Video enjoy and be safe
In OH and PA, the Amish are a big part of the communities. While they still use buggies and horses, they do get driven into cities to shop. Many of them have amazing furniture businesses. In fact our cabinets and kitchen table are Amish made.
Oh yeah!!! Makes my lunch break even better
Nice to see a country who cares about their boarders.
Cheers from scotia,enjoy the trip.
Awesome video
Can't believe you're already there Jonathan, was hoping you would take us along the journey.
You can now show us Canadian beauty! Glad you arrived safely! Enjoy!

Just passing through but it sure was pretty!
Mannn this video made me miss living on the east coast. Enjoy your travels! Excited to live through you during this series!
WOW … that 14 hour drive is a killer ( done it ) so glad ya made it and certainly was worth it to get that hike in AND have incredible fall scenery and colors . The Pond ( Lake to me also ) was so peaceful and amazing . Thx for sharing the adventures and travels 👍🏼 Be Safe ✌🏼
Love fall foilage!
Whoo hoo! Made great time!!
I claimed 2 cigarettes and asked where I could buy more! Def got a chuckle. I also drove from CA to NH because the driver broke her foot, and I had ZERO idea what was in the van. Also had an interesting experience before I was 21, where I had beer, but because I legally purchased it in CA I was allowed to bring it home
I am loving this journey, Jonathan! Glad you are feeling better. Thanks for posting a mid-week update on your trip. And, most importantly, welcome to Upstate NY! Potsdam is a nice little town, although many towns upstate are struggling economically. So glad you are going through the Adirondacks. Very different hiking from out west, I'm sure, but beautiful and challenging nonetheless. As you might guess, I'm an upstater - from the Albany area - and I love hiking in the Adirondacks. Can't wait to see the next installment of you chasing the fall colors!
Welcome to the east coast ! I am from New Brunswick Canada !
The colors were beautiful, even though you said you missed the peak. Sorry to hear you were not feeling well. You look fine now so hope it's behind you. The video was so pretty and I really enjoyed the music. 🤩👏👏
Living the life I can only dream of doing. I live through your videos. Thanks for keeping my imagination vivid! Also, welcome to my neck of the woods. Upstate NY is phenomenal this time of year. Fall foliage is bursting with color and the weather can be some of the best!
Potsdam, good memories. That part on NY is amazing. Finger lakes, Lake Placid area are also amazing. Be safe and enjoy your visit to our interesting NY.
meeting people from the east coast that migrate to the wesrtcoast is a trip because they do and prnounce things different. it's crazyhow different the west and the east coast are.
The horses and buggies are people called Amish, they are hard workers
Autumn has peaked in that area. It if you drive south towards central New York I’m sure you’ll see it’s full beauty
Wowza - you drove pretty far! Enjoying the sights.
Whoo Hoo I’m in the top 10❣️

It's like something out of Thoreau's book "Walden." Also, if you make it down to VA/MD, we haven't quite hit peak foliage yet, so it's expected to get very pretty, particularly up in the Shenandoah mountain region.
I'm so glad that you're feeling a lot better! 🍵I'm also happy that everything stayed in tact after that close encounter with that deer(Whew)!🦌Don't give up just yet! The Fall Foliage is definitely going to show up!🍂🍂🍁🍁Stick around as much as you can! It's beautiful out there! Love the small towns, as well! Take care and enjoy!🍁🏕🍕🍕☕
That’s kind of cool you stopped in Potsdam NY I grew up in the next town over if Massena NY I no longer live there now but still cool someone you watch visits an area you are familiar with
Yay!
It's the first time I've come across your channel. What a gorgeous part of the world you are in! Unfortunately, where I live, winter is almost non-existent. It's lovely to see all the colours.
Welcome to New York! Hope you enjoy the Empire State! 😊
Glad you made it to New York. We live in Baldwinsville NY. We are 12 miles north west of Syracuse NY. Enjoy your trip. We enjoy your videos.
welcome to the east coast and glad you came to Canada and Ontario! Not quite like the PNW which i love visiting but enjoy and stay safe as always
Potsdam, NY is a college town . I'm from central NY originally near Utica . You were in pretty territory . Nice video . I drove across country after I departed from the Army in San Fransisco , CA . My longest day was 17 hrs straight . What a day .
Hey John! I'm from this area and when you were talking about the barren trees they actually are all dead. There is a terrible fungus growing through New York right now killing thousands of trees and so where youre seeing there is the after math of that. Trees everywhere just dead. Its super sad and very dangerous since they can fall whenever we get a good wind storm
Head south to the Catskills. Still plenty of color on the trees here. And welcome.
When in upstate NY. Garbage plate is a must!!!! They also go by other names, but if you ask for a garbage plate, they'll know what you mean.
I'm in central Indiana. Our leaves haven't fully changed yet. These next 4 weeks will be really nice here and in Kentucky.
You need to go more south to catch full colors. I think Virginia/North Carolina would be a good spot. Here in Georgia fall is just starting
Beautiful area. We had a BMWMOA Nat'l in Trenton OT. years back. lopp to the Falls. Good vid Lot of scenery on North. Amish people. all over east
Yup, that's a pond.... Continue south on rt 9, or the highway to lake George! That's a beautiful lake and a hustling little vacation spot in the summer then head to Vermont we still have the vibrant folliage in some areas, but it definitely went fast this year, the last couple weeks we're really cold... Anyway so happy you made to our neck of the woods, enjoy the journey and be safe my friend! If you need a place to hang going through Vermont to or from reply to this comment, and we'll set you up. 👍
deer story about mn hits hard lol. straight facts about midwest
You should make a super round trip. Maine (or New York) down to Florida, cross the southern states, then back to the PNW. Or drive right down to and spend time in New Orleans, it’s an awesome city with SO much great history, beautiful parks, and such a unique landscape. NoLa is worth every minute spent there and then some. Happy travels!
Enjoying following your journey. Good job ;)
fall moves east coast to the midwest. I'm in Ohio right now and we aren't at peak fall yet but usually 2 weeks ahead of us is New Hampshire. start far east and work your way back. Also if you want to see a lot of amish. Pennsylvania and Ohio will seem like a different world in certain towns. Also a lot of them are sweet people and aren't all that weird. Just a different type of people but some of the hardest workers I know. Saw them put a whole barn up in 2 days... true story. Safe travels!
Trees do change colours in the fall before thy shed there leaves, just nature doing it’s thing
Happy to get a update where your at. Head to Pennsylvania. We haven’t had our peak fall colors yet. Nice your in the North East. Glad your feeling better. Happy travels
You’ve made good time in your travels. I live in Ontario. You’re seeing Amish people they live in pockets all over Ontario. Hard working people. Live a simple life without technology.
Still quite beautiful up there :) I live in Florida and we just get palm trees 😅 Love the little critters up there too
If you happen to make it down closer to NYC or into NJ, be sure to try the pizza there...we KNOW how to do pizza!!! While in NJ, give Taylor Ham (pork roll) a try, you want to order it like this: taylor ham, egg, & cheese on a round roll (salt, pepper, & ketchup are optional).
