A look a at toy I bought myself at Christmas time, a 1986 Kidd crop chop M forage harvester.

Mounted foragers, where ideal for a one man operation. The chopper was left in the field as the tractor and trailer went back to the pit. On returning to the the field the chopper was quickly reattached via the frame. When I was a young kid, I just remember a local farmer having a single or double chop which was mounted.

That’s great to see. I think it was similar if not a badge engineered JF. They were good machines on sloping ground with small 80hp tractors as the trailer was mounted straight on the tractor giving more stability than with a trailed harvester. I’ll have a look and see if I can find the old sales leaflet I picked up as a kid 😀

A couple of farmers local to where I grew up used to run these, I thought they were lovely machines. Would love to see it running at a working day!

Looks similar to our jf850. Usually in jf blades the ones with the hole is light duty and without are heavy duty
