"One of your power grids" so there is at least probably 1 other power grid.... perhaps a section that was by mistake cut off from the rest but for some reason had power storage in the section so there was a long ass delay in the shutdown? well im sure we will see a video in a couple weeks to a month or 2 with the "do you guys remember that power outage message that we ignored? well i just found what it was" bit...

personally i like having 2 grids. 1 that feed the power supply like coal miners ,water pumps. oil rigs etc so everything dont run out incase of a power surge elsewhere in the system. also i dont demolish old coal power plant after switching to better power sources. i just shut them down with a few large storages of coal ready incase i need to jumpstart the system.

If for some reason the baux supply go's off the, water supply pipe will fill the system. Blocking the output of the access waste water, then you have to manually empty every pipe. If you use priority pipe connection, to take access water first before accepting "fresh" water it will self boot after a supply interrupt or power drop

@@vargyassoma7733 Yes, I run two separate refinery sections. One is fed strictly from external water, and one is fed exclusively from internal waste water. This prevents external water from clogging up the internal waste water and preventing the waste water from being consumed. Don't mix external liquid with internal waste liquid. Always have a dedicated section for handling any waste liquid, so it can always get consumed.

Exactly right, getting the priority fluid mergers right solves the issue in all cases. This is achieved by orienting the cross vertically, and feeding the waste water into the BOTTOM input of the cross. Note that if the the 'main' water supply has too much head it can override this priority behavior

Sloppy Alumina & Pure Ingots make Aluminum soooooo much easier, but the regular scrap vs electrode scrap comes down to whether you can spare coal or oil for it easier. I went with electrode, because I could produce the Fuel that would be used for Fused Modular Frames in the same chain, and the Plastic for some of the Heavy Modular Frames chain for the FMFs.

Kibs, the way you setup aluminum water at 11:10 wouldn't backloop eventually clog up if aluminum scrap production is slowed down for whatever reason and eventually get fully blocked by full water output? As far as I know satisfactory has higher priorities for lower inputs on junction cross. If you rotate cross vertically and have top-up pipe join from the top you will have a higher priority input on the side coming from refinery and lower priority blocking input from outside. This should, in theory, completely prevent any blockage even if valve is set at full throughput.

While having that as an in-game option would be cool and I'm all for, I'm circumventing by making a template start save. All recipes unlocked, all HDs collected (there are a few extras in case they add future alt-recipes to unlock), an elevated train that goes around entire map, a fuel power plant + a coal power plant pushing roughly 64 GW and a central storage dump not far from the train line. Once I have the save to that spec (I'm not too far from that point) I'll make a copy and call it something like "AdvancedStart_Upd#" and use it when I want a fresh start so to speak without having to go through and unlock everything plus having a decent amount of mats to start building with right away. Might also make a different version of it minus the train, power and mat surplus and just a full backpack of all suit/weapon upgrades, 1 stack of each ammo/nobelisk type, and things you wouldn't want destroyed like leftover HDs, powershards, etc.

If you're wanting something close to Creative mode Satisfactory has mod support. "Satisfactory Mod Manager" is one of the apps, one that I use. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more than a few others. You can get anything from cheat recipes that cost nothing to make items, as well as machines that will output whatever items from nothing, so production from nothing. That, plus things like easy map (unlocking it at tier 1, no MAM needed) and everything, basically a creative mode. Wouldn't be surprised if there's other mods that allow you to fly and do other things too like buildings cost no resources, I haven't looked that far into it though, I just know about the stuff mentioned before. I will mention though, any mods that add actual blocks/machines, are all subject to be thanosed if the developer of the mod doesn't keep up with the updates on the game. Can also make it awkward on the first few days/weeks after the update if you make your whole base out of modded blocks (hope you have a parachute).

Yep! That is the global standard name according to IUPAC, the people that make the standards on how to name chemicals and elements. Aluminium is right and proper, Aluminum is just a lazy Americanism, the only nations on Earth who drop a letter are Canada and the USA.

@@ChristopherBogs I was today years old when I learned this, thanks! Interesting story if you read up on Sir Humphry Davy. Who would've thunk that in this case, it was the British who changed and messed with the original spelling (which made sense being derived from Alumina salt - alum being Latin for "bitter salt")

I kinda want try this game, but the lack of map random generator puts me off a bit about replayability and also seen it's get very laggy, but well it's still early access.

So long as you're not on an actual potato, the game handles lag relatively well. I will say, if your graphics card can get hot in games, it will get hot in this one, I have the side panel off my case, and a big fan on full blast into the heatsink of the GPU. Rx 590, runs at 65C, the start menu runs hotter than the actual tame. Definitely a space heater lmao. As for replayability, there is some amount if you're the kind that enjoys trying alternate ideas next time, also your first playthrough will definitely take quite some time anyways. If that's not enough for you, the game has a pretty big library of mods. "Satisfactory Mod manager" is a thing I use, wouldn't be surprised if there's more than just that app though. Everything from adding alternate resources, randomizing purities of nodes, making recipes harder, and a bunch of other things, I'm sure you could find something to make it more interesting.

@@MonkeNeuronActivated i got 3080 and r9 3900x, system is good but i seen this game run poorly in some content creators/streamers. Not always but sometimes, just like Dyson sphere program at endgame it's get really bad to be in the same planet as the factory

@@Davidlavieri Biggest tip to mitigate lag is to have builds spread out, so the game is loading less at any one time, obviously at a certain point it becomes hard to spread it out when each system is so scaled up, but it's the idea. When you're pushing this game to its absolute limits with the numbers looking like Factorio, you're gonna have some performance issues on an early access. I'm sure it'll be a lot better optimized than it already is later in its life.

Hey Kibz, I got a time saver for you. The customized is great for changing an existing foundation piece or other such product you’ve already placed but did you know that it also lets you change the object in question before you place it? In the build menu you can change building material type for the foundations by selecting the right side of the sub menu for where the specific part is located and change which one you are using.
