    I love that you use Grease! If it’s not broke why fix it?! Nobody had issues with breakage until gurus said stop using grease, just so they can market anti breakage conditioners that they caused in the first place😂 they be like “ I know I broke your hair, but let me fix it too with another product I made” grease was never bad we all grew up on it and worked as a multi purpose from greasing elbows to moisturizing feet before church 😂

    Cactus Flower. Exactly . It seems like the very products they tell us to stay away from is the products that actually work. A group of scientist and chemist that's also done some testing on hair grease and came to find out that hair grease is non-comedogenic which means it does not clog pores. Listening to the natural hair community telling us not to use grease my hair suffered tremendously. I even ended up with bald spots but the moment I started back applying hair grease to my hair and scalp my hair has been so thick and full and growing healthy. So they can miss me with all the negative things they say about using hair grease because I'm never going to stop using it.

  • @simplysima_m

    I use the organics shampoo. It's a mild shampoo that doesn't strip my hair. Two or three rounds of the shampoo gets the grease out.

    Great video thank you for the tips! I hasn't realised I stopped using grease yet it's what grew my hair as a child. I'm in Kenya. Born and raised here. I'd like to go back to grease but I'm worried about grease stains on clothes and beddings. How do you deal with that? Also does your hair feel weighed down by the grease?

  • @simplysima_m

    @simplysima_m

    Жыл бұрын

    Thank you for watching! Certain types of grease do stain or leave an oily residue. I cover my hair when I go to bed, so far no stains. A little goes a long way. I used a lot of great for this style because I actually wanted it to weigh my hair down like when I use gel. If I'm just greasing my scalp I use very little. Try using grease and if you're not happy you can wash it out with clarifying shampoo. I hope that's helpful 🙏🏾.

    I just started back using grease as well. It's been great for the ends of my hair. Is your hair heat trained? I don't see any coils when you wet your hair. I checked another video and didn't see any there either.

  • @simplysima_m

    @simplysima_m

    My hair isn't heat trained. I just started using heat since joining KZread. I have low porosity hair so it takes a tone of water to penetrate my hair. After washing my hair I keep it stretched the entire time so that it does curl back. I don't want it to curl up before I start styling it. Check out these videos to see coils after using curling cream and the other a wash and go with gel: kzread.info/dash/bejne/q4Gdy9ygo7yWY5M.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/iaqX3LOKgtq7qs4.html

    @@simplysima_m thank you. I watched the videos you linked. I realized why I was confused, you don't have 4c hair lol. I thought you labeled your hair as 4c but you simply label it as type 4. Your hair behaves the way the entire front half of my hair does, so now it makes sense😄. I have multiple curl patterns. Do you find that keeping your hair manually stretched so often has trained it to almost remain that way? Do you find detangling to be easier? That's my dilemma (detangling).

  • @simplysima_m

    @simplysima_m

    Жыл бұрын

    I have multiple curl patters it's hard to tell so I just say type 4. I never thought about that hey, you could be onto something. I'm so accustomed to keeping it stretched it could have trained itself over time. Stretched hair minimizes tangles and breakage so I've been religious with that. I think try keeping it stretched consistently for 3 months and see how it goes! For me I detangle in the shower with conditioner then babtu knot or braid it to keep it stretched. 4 large sections

    @@simplysima_m I will try it for months! It takes me 3 hrs to thoroughly detangle my hair. I WISH I could detangle in the shower 😅! I do wash my hair in 6 twists in the shower. I need to figure out how to properly bantu knot my hair. Thanks!
