I don't want to make a skirt like that, I don't want to store a skirt like that, I don't even want to wear a skirt like that out in public. But I really, really want to twirl around in one for a few minutes.

Wow, you absolutely nailed the rippling water effect that the original gown had when Cinderella was running from the ball. That is freaking impressive. I can't believe the Yumissima fabric is real. All of the footage of it looks like it was created using CGI or was filmed underwater. The movement of the fabric is so ethereal it's unreal.

You are fast creating your own, unique space on these here KZreads. Amazing workmanship. I’m impressed you didn’t let the cost of the fabric intimidate you. I’ve been know to shrink in terror before steeling myself to cut costly goods. Those driveway pics are every girls dream of wearing a fancy ball gown. I’m glad you spent so much time swirling and spinning so we (young and old princesses) could all live vicariously. Beautiful, just beautiful.

That yumissima fabric is absolutely unreal. You could make a 20-minute video of just the fabric billowing about and I would watch it on loop.
Yumissima is so mesmerising, I could watch it flowing all day long. You are like a magician, working with annoying fabrics and making something that beautiful.
The amount of core strength needed to twirl the entire thing around as you did at the end is just amazing. I know the fabric is really lightweight but still, with the understructure, it just looks like a beast to walk in. Love love love it

I might be a very fussy person but you could not pay me enough to work with Yumissima. I heard someone once mention that they have an "annoyance fee" (they were taking sewing commissions). In my case, my annoyance fee would be just too high. Congratulations to you for even daring to touch that fabric!
@katherinemorelle7115

Agreed! My annoyance fee would likely be worth more than the cost of the Yumissima. Also, I love the idea of an “annoyance fee”. I’d be putting that on anything super slippery, and especially anything with velvet!

Absolutely precious when you're putting on your Crocs and running around. Oh the skirt is so darling. You did an excellent job. Brava brava... I can't wait to see the whole finished piece. Your pleats are perfect. Your layers are divine. Absolutely love it. Define outer layer of the chiffon, as you spin as it flows against the under layer of the skirt. It almost dances by itself. So beautiful. Absolutely impeccable. My mother always said, if you want to very beautiful dress and you can't afford a good fabric. Hold out and wait. Save your pennies. Good fabric makes such a difference. Higher quality makes such a difference. Very important. I can't get over how beautiful it is. It's so decadent! ☝🏼🧐💗
Le sigh! So beautiful!! While I understand that placing over 10,000 crystals sounds like monotonous torture to most, I think it would be beautifully meditative...plus how wonderful to say, “I did that!” You’re creating magic, here. I’m so glad you chose to get the Super Organza. Completely awe inspiring!! The Crocs were awesome!! THAT is Princess footwear for sure.
This is the closest I’ve ever seen someone get to the movie version of this skirt!! It’s absolutely stunning!!
I love getting to watch you fulfill one of your dreams- it’s so amazing and the glow in your eyes is just the coolest:)
The spinning in the dress is absolutely gorgeous, but oh my gosh when you walked in it the movement of the skirt and petticoat was absolutely gorgeous. Not only did you replicate the dress, you replicated the movement of the original. The whole thing actually moves like a waterfall. Absolutely amazing
My jaw is on the floor. The sheer amount of time and work and attention to detail and patience and cost and effort.... girl. Impressive and absurd! This is what I call work ethic.
Oh wow, it is SO pretty and looks and moves just like the movie dress, especially when you run and twirl! 😍 Kudos for your patience with the slippery fabric!
I've been so incredibly invested in your process of making this dress despite never going to make or wear one myself 😂 It's just so incredibly magical and otherwordly. Especially that super organza... It looks like smoke or drops of dye in a clear liquid. When you run it looks exactly like it did in the movie! I desperately want to incorporate that kind of fabric into some kind of costume design one day.
I had never heard of Yumissima fabric before.. I do not sew.. and I can honestly say I have never fallen in love with a fabric before.. it is so magical and beautiful!!! Then to watch you wearing the skirt and the way it spins... oh my heart!!!

Okay I’m guessing you never would- but hypothetically, if someone commissioned you to make this whole dress for them, how much would that cost?? I definitely would never be able to afford it (quality and detail like this deserves to be paid for and would surely cost thousands of dollars) but I AM morbidly curious of how much I would hypothetically have to save up in order to wear a gown like this 😂 💕
@thenerdybunny1296
3 жыл бұрын
The fabric alone is easily 10,000 dollars, plus it took 18 tailors 500 hours, so for her alone it could take 9,000 hours for her alone to make it. Even by minimum wage, not even counting cost of fabric, that is 45,000 dollars. If you want $20 per hour of work, that's 180,000 dollars. So you're looking at a dress that is the cost of a middle class house in suburbia.
@starsun6363

Eeeeeeeeh, does that time and price count for one cinderella dress, or the eight dresses made for the set?
@thenerdybunny1296
3 жыл бұрын
@@starsun6363 I dont know. If the 500 hours were for all 8, then it would be about a 16,000 dollar dress if it were for minimum wage, or a 33,000 dress if she were paid 20 dollars an hour.
The amount of dedication you have to this massive project is so genuinely intimidating, impressive, and inspiring.
Also - your Christine dress was my favorite thing you've ever done, but I think this is gonna surpass it. Just the sheer amount of work you're putting into this is astounding, and honestly inspiring! Aaaahhh that looks so magical! I'm seriously impressed by the talent and patience you have, and really exited to see the complete dress!
I keep replaying the bit where you're running. The ripple effect in the skirt is SO beautiful - and it looks just like it did in the movie, that shot of her running out! That fabric really is dreamy and you did such a wonderful job in the skirt. Dying the white fabric underneath the iridescent layer was a genius idea, it really does look a thousand times better!
A skirt right out of a dream. So beautiful.
I'm absolutely in love!! You're incredibly hardworking and talented and this dress recreation literally screams it 💕
When I don't have access to online ordering or anything like that and I have to get something that looks like crystals, I take those fake diamonds from the old clothes that don't fit me anymore and collect them for a project and the fabric that is leftover, I make it as a moke up fabric for my coming up projects so I don't waste things which I could use over and over again. I know totally out of topic. 😁😅
Super organza....going on every window treatment and canopy bed i can find....omg so excited....maybe even some crystals that heat wand is so ingenious
Bella you have put love in every stitch and it looks fantastic! Your amazing!
You are unbelievably talented!!! The skirt looks absolutely gorgeous!!!💕💕💕 the way it floats and the way the gems sparkle is just so beautiful!
Omg, how heavy all these skirts are? They must really throw off your center of gravity and you still somehow wear heels. But all the sparkling and shimmering is just😍 P.S. Yumissima belongs to a magician's workshop, it looks like water or smoke when you unfold it.

Oh goodness! The floof, the shine, the sparkle, the flair, the SWOOSH! 😍
THAT IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL GOWN!!! I hate to admit this, but I wanted the skirt of my wedding gown to be similar to this. I didn't want to use the "Southern Belle" kind of hoops that the shop person kept telling me would work . It had 4 levels of bone and wasn't very adjustable. I wanted it to swish and swing when I danced. I found a gown that was beautiful, expensive and I tried not to buy it, but my mom saw my eyes when I put it on and knew we were done shopping. The gown, alone, cost $800. I know that's nothing by today's standards, but it was 1981 and the shops had lots of knock offs of Princess Diana's gown at the time. $800 w/o a veil! My mother loved to sew and on my final fitting my mom shows up with this huge box , I opened it to a beautiful multi layered crinoline underskirt that pushed my skirt out and gave it a swing. I was thrilled. It did not have as many layers as your gown! But she did all of the work. and did a triple layer veil. I was so happy swishing around with my gown during the dancing. The dress lasted longer than the marriage, but it is still a beautiful memory. Years later, I wore a tank dress with a jacket & walked into a JP's office to marry the man I've been with for 30 yrs. Go figure.
You are beyond talented. I cannot wait to see the finished dress!
