What would be cooler is making the dots emit as a light source. The horror element is that you can see the ghosts further away but every dot collected would make the maze darker and darker. Turns progressively from a creepy and foreboding horror to a darker jumpscare type; you need the dots to win but they also provide light.

The weirdest thing I find about this is that turning the classic Pac-Man into a first person horror game is actually a genius idea and if done seriously, it could be an actually horrifying experience. Writing this I now also realize that something like that already exists in Dark Deception. But if I remember correctly none of the levels use the varied enemy AIs like Pac-Man so that could be fun. Also three ideas for the current version: 1. As mentioned by someone else in the comments (this isn't my idea, just collecting it here), making Clyde randomly use the sounds of the other ghosts would make him more menacing as he would be scaring the player into thinking there's something actually dangerous around. 2. Whenever the map is opened, it wouldn't actually show the ghosts but instead there would be a "blip" like a soundwave every second or so wherever the closest ghost is. Now the map would only tell the player the location of the closest ghost but not live, only every second or so, nor would it tell the player the direction or color of the ghost. 3. Whenever the player "dies", make the camera quickly but not instantly snap at the ghost, giving a final "jumpscare" if the player was running away or if the player didn't have a chance to see the ghost at all, for example if it came around the corner and the player didn't notice.

a cool idea for a ghost's sound would be to make them make a sound while they're chasing the player, but the sound stops when they get too close or if they stop chasing the player. This makes it so that the player doesn't know if they are safe or not, and would likely make it scarier

Man do I love Code Bullet's videos. Thank you for continuing to make content!
Clyde's pattern was made to work in a maze in 2D, psyching the player out by camping near Pac Man and potentially block his path. When put into a 3D Maze in first person, yeah it all falls apart.
The final bit with Pac-man as the monster made me think of all the spaceship interpretations. Imagine if the dots were interpreted as ceiling lights and the maze gets progressively darker as he destroys them. The power dots being something like a power center or something and everything goes dark when he gets them.

I'm in my late 50's and I remember when Pac-Man originally came out. I also remember when Doom first came out. And I was playing both at their release. This has a bit more potential than what you actually realise mate. If you put more work into the graphics, sounds, and increased the fear, whilst taking the comedic element out, you'd have something that would be quite enjoyable to play. It would be very interesting to see what the gameplay would be like if it was developed without the VR, and instead for the desktop. Quake maybe? Good work btw.
Every Code Bullet video is equally chaotic, but it feels like he goes through ten stages of character development between each one.

Honestly, being able to jump up onto the walls would be a good idea if the game had stealth elements. Like maybe jumping up out of the trench alerts all the ghosts to your location and they turn aggressive and chase you until you ditch them: so jumping up on to the walls is basically either just a desperation tactic when cornered, or a risk/reward thing to speed up your run.
11:42 Why does this feel like something you'd see in an actual nightmare?
Fun Fact: The "ghosts" in Pac Man werent originally intended to be ghosts, however due to some translation errors on the english version of the game people began calling them ghosts. They were originally supposed to be some kind of monster with some kind of cover hiding their true face, similar to the sheet ghosts that kids used to dress up as for Halloween

Code Bullet's on his way to becoming a game developer.
Even though it's nowhere close to being done, I'd love to be able to play this as-is, even as a timewaster of sorts. Sadly I don't own a VR so I wouldn't be able to play it anyway. Here's some ideas that might inspire further development if you ever plan on continuing working on this game: the map should probably let you walk still, but instead of showing the ghosts location, it could show the ghosts last known location (based on proximity/sounds maybe?) or probably just make the location update every 15/30 seconds or so, so you *know* they're approaching (and likely guess if they are hunting/scattering) but you don't know their exact location. Amazing video as always CB!
It'd be dope to see an alternative VR mechanic in which movement was controlled with teleports to the dots. The player might strategically leave gaps or try to jump long distances. Could make for some very tense gameplay!

There was a first person pacman horror unity game like 10 years ago
This was just perfect we need more
pinky's actually supposed to be super smart and tries to go around and catch the player infront of them, and i think specifically in a horror game that wouldve been super neat
The accidental hilarity of bullet building a tunnel running horror game with the same music that Tangoteck uses is just amazing.

Code Bullet is one of those KZreadrs who upload once every leap year, but it’s always an absolute banger. Other channels like this include: Sam O’nella, Vsauce, and Kutzgersagt.

Kurzgesagt is doing better now that they cut themselves off from the DeutschJugentSteur (tax for being young it's a joke name for the media tax which for most of the youth who no longer listen to radio or watch tv gives them zero back)
bro i’ve been wanting this for so long
I never thought I could adore a Pac-Man Ghost but honesty Clyde is now my spirit animal

Hello alto clef
Massive success; It was scary in traditional ways, plus contemporary anxiety inducing ways. Well played sir.
This is the first video I watch of CB, and I find him really entertaining! :)
ngl i expected the early sound design to make it less scary but it made it more scary
I feel like this was missing two things to make it really Pacman - Constant forward motion and actually being able to clear the maze to move to the next level.

I have played modern pacman games where you could stop yourself by turning the joystick towards a wall, and of course you can turn around 180 degrees at any time
top tier content as usual. For someone who makes a lot of jokes about being lazy, your videos always feel very high quality.
That's exacly the video I needed for tonight !
The reason that is Inky's quote is because it's from Pacman World 2. Inky's boss fight was him in a giant mechanical ghost with saw blades on it.
Was really hoping you would use the drowning sound from Sonic for one of the ghosts. If anything induces terror, that is it.

Yeah, that one made me throw my controller and run from the room when I was a kid lolol.
The VR controls going ape shit might have actually been the scariest part. Having zero control over your body while you are flung around a hellish maze, being forced to wake up and attempt to run the pacer test while a serial killer furry chases you.

9:32 That sparks no fear in me, for it sparks *Unbridled rage.*
this was super cool. :) i love this style of video.
Just finished having an existentail crisis and completely rethinking my entire career/college degree, but I'm still sat here cackling at CodeBullet f*cking up PacMan in the best ways.

Why do I suspect that code bullet spends more time on the dancing animations than on code
This level of Clyde disrespect will not be tolerated
I love the faster uploads btw 😍
Now we need a large streamer to play this for 10 hours
12:00 why did that actually make me jump
One of my favorite things to watch with my son. Thanks CB for helping me raise my kid
13:09 That translated bit was just brilliant! Software companies should try it out.
8:55 "imminent responsibility" 🤣
Most unexpected concept for a CodeBullet video we’ve had, yet it’s still great
