  • @theholidaylady1

    @theholidaylady1

    5 жыл бұрын

    Oh, I think I see what you’re trying to ask me. How is ‘she’ an offensive term? Correct? I don’t find the word ‘she’ offensive although some people do; especially when one is talking about someone who is in the room or perhaps someone who is likely to read the post that is written directed at her. (I've heard British people say, "Who's she? The cat's mother?") I just think it might have been kinder and more polite to address the person to whom one is referring. These comments about what ‘she’ did to her bathroom come across as insults. The written word can be very cold. If someone wants to make a constructive criticism and add ideas, I think Mi-Anne would be happier to hear that rather than someone posting a criticism of what ‘she’ did. Perhaps one could say something like,”Mi-Anne, may I suggest to complete the job, you might clean the grout, get a nice looking waste bin and get a cover for the cleaning products bin?” Do you agree that might be a kinder way of expressing it? I know that when one makes videos of oneself, she has to have a tough skin. She opens herself up to responses from the public and she becomes vulnerable. I’m pretty sure Mi-Anne has feelings like the rest of us do. Sometimes a good rule might be ‘if you haven’t anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.’ Or one could maybe just be kind and think of a nice way to make your suggestion or criticism.

    If you’re using bentonite clay, the directions clearly specify to not have the clay come in contact with metal because it will lose its absorption properties. In other words, don’t use a metal spoon to mix bentonite clay.

    I mixed it with a plastic spoon and added ACV. I liked how it opened my pores but got bit freaked out when I washed it and half of my face had a bad red reaction. I am not sure if that is normal😰It says on packaging that redness is normal, but my skin was not only red but raised 😱 What are your experiences?

    If you go full on DIY mode, $750 can be stretched pretty far. It requires some sanding, primer and some special paint, but you can actually paint tile! A nice cool grey would look so nice with white walls. And they sell tub refinishing kits at Home Depot for like $50. And paint-wise, I always look at the “Oops” paint section, because its always discounted and you can find some great colors!

    I just transformed my bathroom for under 100.00, I bought a curved shower rod, LD light candles, mirrors, a water fall made out of wood with stone, a nock off beats by dre pill, which sounds just as good, 20 luxury collection towels on sales, bath salts, sea sponge, back scrubber, dove soap hand bars, motivational pics to hang on the walls, a sponge mat for the tub, 2 sets of brand new shower curtains and 2 floor mats, .... all at 81.00, You have to shop around and bargain, there are plenty of sales you just have to look. None of that was worth 750.00 And that 50.00 moisturizer she bought, from the sound of it, was just grape seed oil and fragrance in a bottle she could find at the dollar tree

Step 2: Organize Bathroom. Step 3: Decorate bathroom on a budget.... just look at Rachel Talbott videos... turning your bathroom into a spa like oasis doesn´t have to be expensive....

    I, personally, would have gone for an exposed concrete look instead of white for the bathroom, but I am still impressed with the impact that painting had. It's so simple, yet striking. This has also helped me realise how much more expesive the US is compared to eastern Europe. Over here, with 750$ you could have had all the tiling replaced and the walls painted profesionally. Of course, the living conditions don't compare, so I guess there's an explanation.

    A lot of the products can be swapped for more affordable ones based on what a person likes and that can keep the cost much lower than 25, 50, or 750. In case the price tags are too rich for some (like me). For me, crafting a spa space includes cleaning to start. I also enjoy mixing my own masks, scrubs, and oils for body, hair, and face. I buy bottles of basic oils and mix them myself. And I love adding oils and aloe or honey to a homemade sugar scrub. Or maybe a coffee scrub?

    So, I deep clean my bathroom once or twice a week and do light cleans of it every day. I make sure that the appliances are working properly and don’t look dingy. That’s the key. Anything else is a preference thing for everyone. But a bathroom should be super clean.

    I feel like you could do all of these changes in some form, all together, for less than $700 if you chose more budget-friendly items for like...everything after the first 'transformation'. Paint your walls, get a CHEAP but cute rug, get shower products that feel luxurious but don't cost $50...and also hang that eucalyptus branch under your shower head, lmao.

I hope you went with the brighter rug. I'm seriously considering that type of shower head (one more in my price range). Thanks for sharing. Btw that intro was hilarious

    So Idk if this is a thing but after Christmas this year a lot of cats were getting sick and dying because everyone got Essential Oil Diffusers and were using Eucalyptus oils. I'd be worried about using Eucalyptus in your apartment, especially in a room that your cat's litter box is and where they're suddenly spending more time... Maybe I'm being overly cautious, but whatever. Love the little things you did for your bathroom! Gonna change the lights in mine soon too...

    Yeah, the first thing I would have done is deep clean it. I see some one already mentioned caulking which is easy and cheap. I added a curved shower curtain rod and a poster print that seemed to really make a difference in my bathroom. Oh and I got one of those big stickers of branches ($13) and I applied it so it was half on the ceiling and half on the wall in the shower.
