Hey Kiptoe, I am an Art Teacher at a middle school and this is my first year teaching. When I student start and after the first couple lessons I notice students struggling to come up with ideas and using the internet to help them and they would go through what you mentioned. So I made a lesson plan inspired by this video! I have a ton of time magazines and I am having them do what you are doing.

Dinotopia is literally my favorite book, all of them are so good and the paintings are insane, I remember being a kid and being mind boggled over the painting in the second book where they enter through the door for the first time. So cool that others remember that book as well

I never knew you had a background in swimming that’s so interesting! I’ve been swimming competitively for around 8 years and for high school art portfolio I used swimming and the things I tried to portray were so similar to yours.

This video is one of those things that just came in the precise moment I need it. Being in a place in life where death and loss are present and being an artistic fellow struggling to handle life in general, your words really struck me and made me not feel so lonely and angry. Like you said, and well, never know where life is going next, but I feel a bit more peaceful after watching this, that's for sure.

The evolving story is great to imagine.......where does the "walk about" take the cowboy, what does he learn, doeshe (having traveled long enough) meet himself.......the ideas are endless. Spark of imagination is a dangerous thing......sometimes anyway. This series of paintings has an open ended quality about them. I think that when viewed all together the viewer will be able to write their own story. The "dangerous spark of imagination" can now takehold and begin thenext evolution......truly inspired progretion of ideas. Thank you for what you do. So keep rocken it!

I love how you tied it to sports. And swimming. I can definitely see a similar parallel with my sport of running. Track and cross country in high school are team sports too, but not really. Much like swimming it seems. And definitely a good reminder for making things, that just like the zone you have to get in mentally when training or competing, you have to use the same skill to make things. Especially when you got those rough patches of the process. You're always serving up inspiration in your videos! Love it!

Dude YES. Get your hands on the book Story Genius by Lisa Cron. Changed my life around basic story telling in all forms. Your story telling painting series is something I've always wanted to do and I love the style and imagery coming out. Like mythical western.
