    Love this video, such good honest review! One thing I'd always be interested to see is an overview of the ethics of the brand, such as sustainability and working conditions. Hopefully people are starting to pay more attention to how and where their clothing is made - and not just fast fashion brands, but high-end and designer clothing too! Abercrombie, for example, have a pretty poor reputation when it comes to their environmental record and treatment of workers. Would love to see this topic become a part of the conversation with any new clothing brand or style.

    I do agree with your conclusion about the fit of some of their items being really off and a bit too expensive, but as a shorter guy their sizing range has been a Godsend. Before I was almost exclusively shopping at Uniqlo because it was one of the few brands that fit me. It's nice to have a bit of variety. Having said that, due to the pricing of their items I still only shop there occasionally and I'm not sure I'd shop at Abercrombie much if I was a taller guy with more options available to me.

I have found that ordering a size down doesn't alter the fit on the body but the length is definitely better. So you do have to order a few sizes to get the right fit for you. When I moved to America 20 years ago it was a very popular brand, and it was also having a moment in the UK. My nieces who were teenagers at the time would always get a haul of sale stuff whenever they visited. The clothes have definitely changed because they used to be tiny. An XL would fit a medium (they were called muscle shirts because I guess they were supposed to be worn tight. There's an Abercrombie in my local mall (and most malls in the USA) so the beauty of that is being able to go into the store and try stuff on. I'm tempted to go and check it out again soon. Cheers for the video, great content as usual. About 10 years ago it was considered a kiddie/teenage brand, however recently their look is more mature and less overly branded. I'm a little stockier than yourself so the boxier fits will probably work well. As for the length, that doesn't bother me too much as often my clothes will shrink a couple of inches in length in the wash.

    That "Short sleeve" shirt looks like their take on a guayabera shirt which is popular traditional shirt in places like the Yucatán peninsula and Cuba. Since guayaberas are designed for hot weather they are a little boxy for better air flow so sweat isn't trapped.

    I'm also 6ft and 85kg - I order all size Medium from A&F and still agree with you. They're just always slightly too long in the body. That said, the quality feels really good for their linen short sleeve shirts and they've got huge discounts at the moment, so if you can get them for £31 rather than the £65 RRP, I think they're worth it. Could even get it tailored/shortened then and still be paying less than the RRP.

    A few people in these comments hit on it, but the long length is just a bit more comfortable for some guys. People who are truly into fashion (like those that watch this channel) understand that a slightly shorter (maybe even cropped look) is often better. However the “average” guy doesn’t understand this and would view that type of fit as too short. This is especially true in the US, where abercrombie is based out of.

  • @HarryHas

    @HarryHas

    Yeah I agree with you. Also some people who are really into fashion like longer tops. It’s just a preference but I have to agree I think Abercrombie are aiming to appeal to as many people as possible, hence the longer fit.
