i tried to write a movie in 7 days. i failed.
In the beginning of the year, I set out to write my first full length script. I gave my self a deadline of one week. This is the story of how I failed but why I'm glad it happened.

This is a trend I’ve been seeing in growing indie filmmakers, to make a few or several short films and then jump right to their first feature. Some writers become the outlier and use their wicked work ethic skills to actually churn out a feature script within a week or so. However a lot of indie filmmakers, as seems to be the case with you, exhaust themselves after a couple of days. And then resolve to write a handful of features over the year.
It sounds like you had the most productive week of writing in your entire life? Fuck the challenge, that's mad progress, man! Keep it up. Do that week two more times and you'll have your first feature. Huge congrats!
This took me back to the days when I tried to write a feature film without writing a feature in my life.
Bro I think you’re fucking amazing, like seriously I genuinely love this vid, your content is brilliant, not only did I connect and relate with lots of things mentioned throughout the video, but I’m so glad that people like you exist, who openly admit their failure so others can learn from it as well... as an artist, I feel like we need to embrace our failure, allow ourselves to fail in a way... so thank you... definitely did inspire me, I’m writing 6 features too now😂
Tyler just made a video about this video! Infact that's what brought me here lol, I'm watching this first so that I know what I'm getting into when he analyses it. Before I hop off to his video tho, I gotta say this was pretty cool. Wouldn't you view it as a small form of success because while you didn't meet the challenge you ended up with 29 pages more than you would've if you'd gone through that week without doing the challenge? A
I haven’t written much for a long time, I’ve been mostly concentrating on art (drawing and painting concept art) my goal is to make a bunch of short films ideally working my way up 5 -7 minute short in Germany
Having watched Tyler's video I thought you speaking about this and the fact that you tried and failed was so inspiring. I've also been working on a screenplay for 2020 but I just never seemed to have the time after every day. Now that the world is on Lockdown I've had a lot of down time. So here's my challenge to you. I challenge you that I can write a 90-120 page screenplay in 2 weeks (which is exactly the amount of time we are to self-quarantine for) Before you can. Are you up to that challenge?
Hey saw your video from Tyler it’s really great! It helps me alot
Dang! That ending tho!!
It doesn't have to be perfect, it has to be finished... Keep up the good work, subscriber earned!
Oh my gosh! I am right there with you!
Wtf 747 subs with this quality of video? He's UNDER RATED!
you have a big mike
yo
why dont you try to write 500 000 scripts ?
