You commented on the in-game merch for RSI, and I just wanted to correct something you said about it. Star Citizen is being developed by Cloud Imperium Games. Roberts Space Industries is an in-game ship manufacturer who also "hosts" the website for what I assume is an attempt at adding that extra level of immersion.

SC is still an alpha so you have to decide for yourself if you can deal with a buggy incomplete game that's being built out. If not, don't play it. If you can, free fly is going on now until the end of Invictus event. Make a free account and give it a try.

@@shadyphaze9928 It's not just the bugs, but how long the game has been in development, and how much farther it has to go, knowing its plans. It needs to connect to a server to work, and games like that don't usually have an end-of-life plan to not die permanently one day. It's full of things that are MASSIVELY high priced of real life money for a game that already has a LOT of money. But to contrast, the visuals and level of detail is on another level, since it's trying to achieve the dream game for space life sims. I have a respect for how ambitious it is, and what IS achieved so far, even if it's not the most functional state. Despite the number of loading screens, Starfield is currently my best option for fulfilling my kind of space game, and have been enjoying it. It has great visuals, large scale space/planet exploration, great design in architecture and tech, and can be played as an offline/solo experience with quests and stories. And if mods get the same level of support as Fallout 4 and Skyrim got, that'll be incredible.

@@shadyphaze9928 I created an account until a friend told me to use his code, so I had to make a second account. Then the free event came, and I wanted to try it. I started with the second account, got to the menu, selected everything, Orison Server EU, and then had an infinite loading screen. I closed the game, and now I can't even get to the menu. I can hear that the menu is there, but it still keeps loading. I tried everything account repair and everything possible but it doesn't work. However, I can log in with the first account without any issues.

That's pretty much also my experience as someone who does play it regularly. There's something so incredibly immersive about it that is unmatched by any other game, but at the same time the gamebreaking bugs and lack of content make what is an otherwise amazing experience feel dull and frustrating. All the tech behind it is incredibly impressive and should be developed further, but what use does it really have if they can't build an enjoyable game around that tech?

The game is fun, its just really buggy. You pay for what you want aswell.

I decided to give this game another go and damn be prepared to spend 80% of your time on google, not only trying to learn the game... But also trying to solve all the problems and glitches youll inevitably experience. -What are all the shortcut keys? -Why am I walking to slow? -HTF do I equip items? -How can i pickup and store items? -WTF can I sell/buy x item? -How do I log out properly? -How do i heal myself? -Does my ships have lights? - Why is my ship inventory showing as full when its actually empty? - why is all my stuff gone when i logged out? - Why is the item I just delivered not registering as delivered? - Why cant I access X? - I cant exit my ship bed? - Why has the mission I just accepted disappeared? - It says my ship is stored but wont let me retrieve it? To name a few...

​​@@djJaXx101 My computer is out of order, and since I used to play in decoupled mode 99% of the time and I'm not exactly thrilled about the new flight model I'll probably skip this patch myself. But I'm glad you're here. If you keep playing you gradually learn vow to avoid most of the bugs and minimize your downtime making the game more fun. Most people also seems to find it a lot more fun when played with other players, so consider teaming up. Also, don't make rock solid goals, but be prepared to go with the flow a bit snd just see what happens. As insisting on a specific goal might make you feel bad when it's just not achievable in that specific session. But it doesn't mean that you can't have fun that session. There's alternatives to hard progression, like just goofing around, ideally with other players, or exploring some of the beautiful scenery etc.

@@FunnyFreak_ -Yes I am an extremely experienced gamer -I have two bookmarks of keybinds, Its not hard to find shortcuts, its just time consuming when you have to keep alt-tabbing to find them. -I am not literally googling "How do I equip items" If I remember correctly I was googling a few things around equipping my multitool, equipping tractor beams and why it wasnt working, equipping ship components, why I kept equipping items and they jump back into my inventory... but for the sake of brevity I decided to simply everything into "HTF do I equip items" I think you missed the underlying point, at this alpha state, star citizen is a steep learning curve of controls and bugs for someone just jumping into the game. Anyway Starcitizen is on hold for now because obviously any TRUE gamer is playing Elden Ring tonight.

In the convention hall, those little info displays near each of the ships lets you rent them for free for 2 days. Almost every ship on display throughout the event is rentable in this way. Kinda neat way to try some of the ships. Unfortunately, since the event is also tied to a free-play week, the servers get a bit overwhelmed. Also, when you set a course like that, it'll automatically set waypoints to get there. Just gotta keep hitting them until you have a clear course to your final target.

I don't think they've added parachutes because not all the planetary bodies have atmospheres. They likely need some sort of rocket pack that you can use instead.

CIG made the game RSI is a in-game corp the website is just based on.

store your DNA after the first login at any space station, there are small hospitals to do so. The benefit is that in case of brainlag death^^ you can respawn and start with your ship within 2 minutes instead of around 10 using the major cities

Play with a group that knows a little and you will have a blast, and soloing is good but group play is way better than I would have ever thought. The larger ships even make this very fun.

You need to set your spawn point to the space station. That why you won't have to use the train everytime

8:36 - You MIGHT want to raise your landing gear. If you don't, you move VERY slowly. The game won't allow you to rip your landing gear off, due to excessive speed. Special events, such as the Invictus Launch Week (when you joined the game) are notorious for long (and infinite) loading screens and lots of server lag. That's because there are SO many more people overloading the servers for the free fly promotion. CIG does that to promote their ships, but also to study the server load and to be able to find ways to improve the servers' performance in the future. We suffer now to be able to flourish later.

I love how when you enter the elevator and I skip a few seconds ahead, you're in a hospital bed lol

You can use left alt + n to request landing. You also use Right alt + R to turn on all your ship systems so you dont need to find all the buttons

Use orbital markers to get line of sight positioning when trying to fly around mooins and such

In the ship combat portion at the end you switched to nav mode which lowers your shields and disabled your weapons which is why he killed you so easily. Gonna say you should look up some guides and find people to play with.

I had that same issue, re: falling through the planet from a distribution center elevator. I really like those areas, so I hope the issue doesn't repeat itself XD

They really need to try and up the npc count on worlds, especially a city planet. There should be tons of people around during the day with conversations and stuff happening. I've been playing for years and that's the one thing I've always thought would change the feeling of the worlds/hub spaces the most.

I get to gamble with the travel within the train rides. Sometimes they show up and sometimes it’s me getting on and then the next station disappears so if I leave I fall into oblivion. Had it for a long time, used to be the elevators for me back in the day. Now trains. Or being stuck in my bed at the stations. The minute I was able, I’d get my ship, fly and then sleep so I can spawn back there instead of gambling if I’ll be able to play that day.

I have seen the last 3 'tried star citizen' videos 3 times each, I almost cried when I saw another attempt at the game. Can we please keep on going this time. I don't have the game because I don't have a pc to run it and I live it through the bull-shi* youtubers do in it, I really like your style of recording and gameplay

How many hours do you think he's played this game total? How many hours do you think is necessary for it not to be a "quick glimpse?" I played for a few hours this week, which is several times more than I would normally give for a game I was having a somewhat sour experience with. Should I play another 5, 10, or 20 hours before my experience is unsoured? What's the number?

@@FutureProp this game in general is fairly time consuming. moreso with its current state. definitely takes some time and patience. also considering the fact that a free fly and invictus(big ship sale and show event) is going on rn, im not surprised ur experience was sour. performance of the game and servers generally tanks hard during these times as a huge influx of players are hopping in all at the same time. id say give it a few hours at a time over a span of 30 days, which iirc is the refund window. and in between maybe check out some content like guides or just gameplay to see what the game is about and what kind of gameplay loops u might be interested in getting into. its hard to scratch the surface of the game even at 10hrs. especially depending on how the servers are performing. i got the game late feb of last year and i still feel like i barely know what im doing. part of that being i work long hours and havent been able to really sink my teeth into everything the game has to offer, which isnt a whole lot quite yet, but the game leans more into the "make ur own fun/adventure" like sea of thieves. especially right now that a lot of the gameplay loops arent quite in yet. havent even touched orgs yet. which i should. orgs can def help in find what to do in the game. a ton more progress has been, and is still being, made this year. the main main thing that every citizen is waiting for that will reeeeeally be the biggest stepping stone is server meshing. to put simply, the whole game runs on 1 server. planets, players, ships, water bottles, everything. all that takes an immense load on one single server. which is why more often than not, the game is buggy and unresponsive. getting into a fresh server that has 30fps(max server tick rate) is rare, but when it happens, its feels like a whole different game. but i digress. server meshing essentially will separate the whole system into many servers that are "meshed" together. so the 1 server doesnt have to take the brunt of some asshat spamming ships and bottles and junk everywhere to try to crash the server. this will improve the performance and responsiveness of everything and really enable cig to implement everything they want to. including the pyro solar system. but from what i understand, creating this tech is no small feat. they are creating it from scratch i think. i could be wrong, but i think no other game has been able to implement server meshing, especially dynamic server meshing. last i remember they are getting close. they have a small working version of it. getting it finally implemented will be monumental to the game and possibly the industry if they so choose to share this tech. but yeah sorry for the text wall. this game just doesnt look enticing to those that arent hooked solely on the concept and potential alone without background information. if this game had steams 2 hour window, it would not survive. also if u want to know where most of the time and money has gone to, its gone to the single player counterpart called squadron 42. look up "squadron 42 I held the line" for the trailer/progress update.

@@muttley8818 to be fair, he played during the free fly, which lets anyone play for free so the huge influx of players tanks the servers hard at these times. i gave up last weekend and am waiting for the free fly to be over since this update actually felt pretty nice prior to the free fly opening up. but thats fair. if it doesn entice u enough then it doesnt entice u enough. i cant help u there. but if it does and u want background info as a new player then i can sorta help. as much as i can that is. jayvee is interested enough to keep coming back, so hes different

@muttley8818 that's like saying Rust is a horrible buggy mess, or Ark, or Starfield, or Halo infinite, every vr game out there. Every game is horribly buggy, only thing that changes is how quickly the bugs get patched. Star citizen is so buggy because they are focusing on inventing the tech to even make the game. Sure, server meshing has been done before, but nowhere NEAR to this scale. People really try to downplay it as something small but it is a very interesting piece of tech.

The game can be very frustrating, but with time you learn to work around bugs and do things like setting your spawn at the closest station.

Ever heard of early alpha? Sure 700 million dollars went into this game, but Chris Robert's promised he wouldn't go faster because he was given more money. The whole point of the star citizen project was to not be corporate slop, so they are taking their time. Only reason microtransactions are so awful is because this project isn't sustainable in the long run. If you think this sucks, go play it. Don't do the normal things in the game, do an off-the-grid challenge, do pvp, go to prison and break out, do literally anything, let your imagination go wild. "Inch deep lake" is a disservice to everyone who has enjoyed the game.

@@teabagtowers3823 I've spent less than 100$ on the game, I'm not spending thousands like the crazy people. Do you watch twitch streams? Do you donate? Then you have also demonstrated your point. You don't get to say what games people enjoy, Star Citizen is something that intrigues me. We pay for a pledge, and they produce content as fast as they can make it. But at the same time, they try not to end up like other current AAA studios that make mostly slop and the occasional gem. I'm not justifying my purchase by spending more money, I justify my purchase by satisfaction. And I am a satisfied customer. Doesn't mean I'm deluded. Just like how people who think "Starfield with mods will be better than the Star Citizen vision" are not delusional, stubborn as they may be. Although, Sf will never be Sc, they are too different.

You're the delusinal one here, I spent 70€ on diablo 4 and played for 10 hours, I spent a little more than half of that on sc and can log in to do what ever I want, its fun and absolutely not shallow, but you obviusly have never tried the game so you call players that enjoy it deluded

Eventually, as the Replication Layer matures, wherever you log out will be where you start. They have to revamp the bed system however, for that to take effect for right now logout ties you to the last station-bed.

Good to see that you are back, but you should've recorded this with the hangars and cargo update that will be released on June :,]

As others have said, learn to find and use med clinics on stations so that you can set spawn.....anywhere besides a city. At 23 min you hit Z which is the free-look button. just hit it again to leave free-look.

If you have a 3060 I’d assume you have a decent cpu so all you need to worry about is having like 32gb of ram and an ssd and you’ll be fine.

You really need to slow things down. You were trying to "hijack" the ships that were on offer for you to try for free for 48 hours. You could have had any of the ships in the convention in your fleet during the convention.

You had your nav mode on when you tried to get back at the guy in the end of the video, nav mode has no shields, so you basically got obliteraded for not using the combat mode, give the game another try, i think you may like it, for a bit atleast.

anyone else who first saw the MacFlex silver arms and thought 2 things "the guy" from SpyKids3 or RoboCop, technically RSI Roberts Space Industries is a company in-game personified byt their IRL company the actual IRL company name is CIG Cloud Imperium Games... think of RSI as CIG's hardcore Roleplay company in the verse it's a smart way to get people to think oh this is cool but it can be a little confusing especially since SC's site is RSI! you can buy ships fully in game but they will disappear in a patch eventually when they do a ship wipe, these wipes wont happen in the full game but that's quite a long way off!, camera shake can be lowered theres a slider on far down on the first settings tab

Wondering if the choppiness in frames at the beginning was due to shaders loading, because as buggy as this game can be, I honestly rarely run into lag that bad. That's my personal experience though.

I keep my eye on this game. This could be....part of an "ultimate" game, of which I dreamt of when I was a kid....and I went to other people's houses to play video games. Imagine if Rockstar, CDPR, and other studios who have created the best open worlds, help to have that in the game...by default. Fully interactive cities and very human-like NPCs that make it feel more authentic. And then add to it, the ability to land on any planet you want, so long as it's hospitable, or workable, then having part of the game be an immersive (first/third person optional) town & city sim, that functions similarly to Cities: Skylines but with more focus on the agency of each citizen, and all the citizens in your city slowly become more and more nuanced with the help of AI, that it resembles one that you would find in a GTA game, for instance. Also in this game, you can get into other people's cars. Maybe the laws are different in each star system, but getting in and out, and driving vehicles that aren't yours aren't the only things to do. This "AAAAA" game, could be VRChat, on all the steroids. If whomever is in charge of the development of Star Citizen, wants to think about people literally being able to build on a planet, and gather resources from said planet to create new things... I would be lying if I said I didn't want this. I would love this. Just pack sims style games, in with this game, have all citizens in cities and empires I build, be able to be managed like in Rimworld or something, and the AI able to make the game recognize your colonies and then you can establish trade routes and stuff, kind of like in Homeworld but without the Denuvo

Finally more Star Citizen Content. Happy to see more of this! Watched ur vid. Im so frustrated with a lot of the issues you experienced that could have been avoided if you had a guide or learned more core game mechanics. I mean, you dont even know ship combat basics for example.. Getting in to SC blind is tough.

Point of convention is that you get to try all ships in the game for a week for free. Helps you know which ships you wanna work towards to buy with in game currency.

i mean it''s either that or modern combat: shoot a missile kilometers away, don't engage in any perticularly fun combat gameplay in my opinion it's the best choice to actually feel like you're fighting a ship and not a target way too far for you to actually enjoy

i’ve installed and uninstalled this game 3 times now trying to play the update. it just gives me error 30000 and crashes every time. i’ve tried every fix possible that i could find. game fell off smh

That error indictates a server crash. I just logged off - no reports of such problem on the server I was on for the last 3 hours.

Just to make sure, is it installed to an SSD? Star Citizen is pretty heavy with streaming content in and out so they recently updated their minimum specs to require an SSD.

i love star citizen. you'll get to a point where you're good at avoiding bugs and not making time costly mistakes. it takes a frustrating long while to get there though.

Yup that's about what the game's like for me every time I try it. Some random reason for dying and failing my contract. With the travel times it becomes quite a slog to do anything. I've even had multiple ships just blow away in the wind and leave me stranded. One day this game will be amazing, but as a Kickstarter backer it's taking bloody forever!

Get a friend to guide you in game mate. Honestly, it will completely remove all of the starting junk and get you into some crazy content, pirating, salvage derelect ships etc. Much more fun than trying to fly off in a starter ship. Although people gave you like 3 billion credits or something so, if you just had someone show you how, you could just go buy a ton of mad ships

Sadly, Star Citizen isn't really the sort of game you can jump into once in a blue moon and really play successfully. It does take time to learn various aspects of it. Given your comments at the end, I would expect you to struggle with it, particularly as a solo player. A lot of people learn the game from playing with others. Hopefully it will become easier over time but with the amount of controls and other parts you have to know outside of that, it doesn't necessarily suit the way you do your videos. I would consider finding someone to team up with next time you look at the game, if that's possible (and if there is a next time).
