maybe do the same on an island ? it would limit the amount of people turning up potentially and at the least you'd see them swimming over for easier shots with a bolt or something almost like the way people wall off islands , you could fly in and out from farm runs ,awesome idea and great fun to watch , all the best Brit :) thanks for the content o7 .

I was really hoping to see a sky compound. Willjum recently said after someone destroyed the tree to his treehouse that you can't have anything in Rust haha

try again, on the flat, and stone the foundations and wood wall the first floor to keep the rats out. build up and out at the same time in chunks, so by the time they notice you are already a multi rocket raid. stay down from the limit about 3 levels so loosing a couple of stilts doesnt bring it all down...good luck,

@Brit I did this many times in watter, deep ocean is 16ish floors high. A couple of suggestions: to save mats and upkeep build out. On 2 2x1 foundations you can build out at 7'th floor a 6x4 and go on building normal from there. Floors don't add stability so they are not needed. You can cheese 1 or 2 more floors in height by supporting your walls with low walls. Low walls stick where half or full wals don't.

With those towers and stuff like elevators and cars in rust, it would be cool to see you attempt to build your own launch site, I think you could make a pretty good replica if you are interested!

hey brit, i have a great chalenge for you, if you can hide horses and snow mobiles in and around outpost, you can LIVE in outpost without having to use your death bag thing. a few spots i found are in the train station hut thing, and you can hide a snowmobile in the tunnels too. theres also a little crevase next to one of the doors, its like a run down house with alot of shrubbery infront. i hope you try this, enjoy your free vid idea! P.S. DONT CALL IN AIR DROPS THAT YOU GET FROM THE TUNNELS IN OUTPOST

I think doing it on a Pve 2x or even 5x would be perfect because you might even get other players decide they also want to live in the sky

AH... ok... Now I get why it's titled "I *Tried* To Build...", lol. That was pretty cool. I'd love to see this succeed! I swear though... Rust needs (in a mod if nothing else) the ability to either; A. Upgrade the TC so it can hold a larger amount of resources for upkeep, or B. Allow the TC to link with 1 large (physically adjacent) storage box. The amounts of Wood needed to in the TC to keep that monstrosity of a "base" upkept was (and only would have continued to become ever more) _STAGGERING..._ Meaning that without someone tending it, and adding wood to it, AT MINIMUM, several times per hour...it would have begun decaying very quickly. I think the cooler part, is that you guys did all of this on Vanilla. Though, admittedly, I wouldn't object to/mind if you guys tried this on a 2x, 3x, or even a 5x server. Just given the sheer scale of such a project. 🤷‍♂️

well you know they have that thing in rust where you hook it up and it tells you when your tc is low so you top it up. they should use that concept but a box that attaches to the tc so when upkeep is low it feeds resources from the box to the tc would be a perfect idea for vanilla rust as upkeep can be a huge issue with big bases

Use that time to get build supplies so you can do all the building in one go without prolonged advertising that you’re vulnerable. i know some other yt who built a wall across the entire map of rust on a complete vannila online rust server. he was solo, it took 1.5M wood and 5 days. including people attacking him, stealing loot and trying to destroy walls. he used turret bases for roads/rails

Ah this reminds of a clan i was a part of way before compound walls and Bunker Walls were a thing. We literally, well okay they did while i was soundly asleep, build a double stone wall around an entire island with a monument on it. (Lighthouse) It was glorious. Totally unreasonable.
