Sadly, there are quite a few people that got “obsessed” with the MTM foam cannon and spent hundreds of dollars on the cannon and accessories. Nice work on an simple and objective video on this Jamie.

Nice video Jamie. After seeing you use it, I purchased the MJJC foam cannon and it blew me away. The clear bottle and the long weighted tube was awesome! I like you showed, I think it put out way better foam and it just looks better too. Plus the wide mouth opening does it for me! Love your videos dude! I have the MJJC and love it, I can't imagine better!

I had a mtm and the mjjc pro v2. The mtm’s foam dwells a lot longer, which literally the entire of point of foam. The mjjc creates thicker foam that falls off the panel quicker. Especially with bilt hamber auto/touchless pre wash. After removing the mjjc’s filter and putting the mtm one in there, it’s basically the exact same as the mtm. I like the pro v2 for the cheap and super high quality bottles, no leaking when your turn it upside down, and wider range of adjustment. So now I have the best of both worlds.

I noticed that the mjjc rifles through soap real quick, i had to use 750ml of bilt hamber/water now with the mtm im using 450 to 500ml

The MJJC for sure took the win. Doest even compare at all! And one ounce of soap for that amount of foam!! Nice!!!

Nice comparison. I use the MTM, but I have it set for a heavy mix and usually use about 100 ml of GSF in 900 ml water, so a richer mix. I think the weight on the MJJC and wider mouth, make it appealing. I’m super happy with my MTM and get super heavy foam, but nice to see that there are solid alternatives.

I went down on this rabbit hole and imho u can get foam as any cheap or expensive foamer will depend on ur setup, for pf22 canon if u want a thick lather go down 1.1 orifice, turn ur knob all the way up meaning open, make sure the small relief hole is not plugged with debris, use soft or di warm water. You can do either or all for thicker but the most impact is using a 1.1 orifice. I ended with pf22 for its maintenance and up keep (having an all brass unit like all good foam cannon, as well know with brass it oxidize and corrode easily , pff 22 plated theirs with nickel to mitigate the corrosion and use a delrin type tubing at the end) and aesthetics of course lol and after setting up the way i wanted it i got a few and adjusted them according to their usage. MJJ is no slouch when it comes to their products as they keep tweaking and improving their unit and hopefully will come up with a new and a sleek design as they got the fundamentals on lock.

Was thinking about buying the mtm as a backup cause I have the mjjc pro. After this I’m just going to buy a second mjjc. Thanks for the vid!

I have been using the MTM for years and it does keep working. If I were buying a foam cannon today it would be the MJJC. Apex soap is a sleeper soap which just works. Incredisuds is awesome and reminds me of CarPro Reset. The new Armor soap looks like a worthy contender!

Mtm user here and I love mine, I might buy an mjjc when/if they come out with a pro 3.0. The mtm just feels very high quality to me and does very thick foam, but I usually use about 2+ Oz of whatever soap I'm working with

You weren't lying.. that is one gigantic swamp over there in the grasslands. I have the MTM but I've never been a huge fan of it because of the small fill mouth. Gonna have to give this SHAMPOO+ a shot sometime this summer!

MJJC did win for sure I agree. But back in its prime the MTM was undisputed. Wider mouth and weighted ball is what gives MJJC the edge.

Great comparison vid! The small mouth opening of the MTM bottle is a fail for me. The narrower base and height of the MJJC bottle is not what I prefer but is a great foam cannon nonetheless...and the large mouth opening and 1/4 turn seal is a win for sure. IMO, the Griot's Boss has the best of both and is my preferred FC. The spare bottles with lids are a nice add-on as well.

Nice video, Jamie. I'm in total agreement, the MJJC v3 foams the best and has better features, like the wide mouth, quarter turn top, and weighted tube.

The MJJC cannons really only have the amount of foam they do because they suck up the soap faster than others. You could likely get a similar foam by just adding more soap to other brands. Not a knock against the MJJC stuff because I think they are well made for the price, but they aren't just making free foam. Also, have you tried Ethos Car Care products? Everything I use from them is great similar to brands like DIY and Armour. Their Foam Party soap is awesome to use in a foam cannon and bucket. I hate having to use two products just for a basic wash soap. It smells really good and has some serious cleaning power for a pH balanced soap. It is also the most concentrated I've tried. I use .5-1oz in a foam cannon and get really good foam compared to the 2+ oz most brands seem to need with my system to get similar results.

I own both used MYM for last 3 years I think it will outlast in the durability column but the MJJC Foam Cannon- wins in the features column with weighted straw, clear wide mouth bottle and 1/4 turn attachment feature. I will try Armour soap once go through all my other soaps.

I love my MTM. The only other foam cannon Ive tried was the Griot’s brilliant finish. That tube ball kept getting rusty on me, and the filter kept getting clogged, even after properly flushing it out after use. My MTM maintains its performance significantly longer than the Griot’s did, but maybe it’s time to try the MJJC

There are a number of reasons why it would be the MTM for me. The only MJJC has thicker foam because it uses more product. The bottle is also a no go for me. It’s clear plastic so it won’t last, yet it’s proprietary threads so you’re stuck buying their bottle. The MTM has a normal opening and threads so you can use tons of different bottles. I use Smart Water bottles. Allows me to have multiple bottles in different sizes for different products and have a screw on cap for them all.

You got a 1.1 orifice installed in your MJJC v3 tho? The installed stock orifice in the MTM is 1.25.

MTM was the best for so long and now MJJC is in the lead. MTM can get it back with a few tweaks I think.

Is this being used with a pressure washer?

Good test! It would also be interesting to know what size orifice in the foam cannons, and what brand/model pressure washer you are using. I'm using an active 2.0 with the mjjc s v3, and just received a griots boss to test. Loser gets to be on brake buster duty.

Armour Detail appears to be the real deal.....the shampoo+ seems like a great product all around. I love how they actually share their SDS info and product information with everyone. No secrets. If you had to pick your top SHAMPOO and DRYING AID....what would you use?

I love my Griot's Garage Brilliant finish foam cannon. $60 out the door performance is just as good as these. In my opinion.

My first cannon is the MTM but my next will be the MJJC. Too many negatives with the PF. Great foam but the narrow neck, plastic to metal threading, rigid tube, lack of weighted ball, leaks past 3 or 4 notches lower than max setting.

The MJJC still makes thicker foam vs the Griots. I have the Griots Brilliant finish and while it’s pretty good at making thick foam it still doesn’t come close to the MJJC. Also my steel weighted ball corroded so badly and left corrosion stains inside the bottle it was disgusting. I called Griots and they ended up sending me a new bottle and rebuild kit with their newer weighted ball that’s made with a different metal.
