    Hey, just a suggestion we use soapnuts since our childhood in India and also in the united states.Initially we don’t wet our hair we use soapnut water directly for the first and rub it in taking partitions all over the head then rinse off and repeat till we get froth.The thing is soapnuts don’t produce froth untill the dirt is gone.For conditioning add Fenugreek seeds in the water not too much about 1tsp.Try to soak them in hot water before bathing and let it cool down and when it is warm then use it.Still we need to see what works for us :)

    Am so grateful to my mom. Ever since my childhood she washed my hair with soap nuts (coz every indian uses ). My hair used to be longer and thicker compared to my whole class. But at that time i didn't cared much coz am just a kid. From past like 10yrs i have been using shampoos and my hair is in very bad condition, it's so thin and lots of hair loss and all. Now am going back soap nuts again.

    I started using soapnuts in 2015 in our laundry because my son had really bad eczema. After 3 months, his skin cleared up, the detergent just needed time to leave our clothes. I used every kind of natural detergent and all of them irritated him. I soak them for 5 -10 minutes and drop them in. Love these things, going to try the hair, thanks.

    Never use a glass jar in the shower or bath. I have a 6” scar on my leg from when I was 14 and glass slipped through my hands. Maybe use a plastic one with a squeeze tube. Also maybe just use a conditioner on the ends for less fly always?

  • @zg6879

    Yes, when glass breaks it can be quite dangerous. However, glass is basically the best thing out there for clean storage. The way to safely use glass in the shower is to use one of those silicone wrap things like they put on water bottles, or use a bamboo bottle carrying/holder thing, or keep your bottles set on a shower bench and just pump as needed. Alternatively, do that more minimalist clean look, when I’m wet I pick up my glass bottles with a wash cloth. Helps with adding some traction.

    I've been no poo for many years. And I've found certain water-based products I like to use. I consider a vinegar rinse a must (distilled water with distilled white vinegar brought to a pH of about 4) I'll use it about once a month. This is the most minimalist method. If I use nothing else, I use at least this. The distilled water removes the impurities from my tap water, and so prevents that hard waxy feeling. And the vinegar restores the acid mantle on my hair, and so leaves my sebum thin, smooth, and soft. It's great. But it's very strong on the scalp, so once a month is enough. The rest of the time, I like to clarify after the shower with only distilled water. But I also like herbal rinses and more recently rice water. They also have a good pH and removes impurities form my tap, so I don't use the vinegar rinse if I'm using stuff like this. There are so many options tbh.

    Hey, If you smash these nuts and put it in warm water then it will be similar to a shampoo (gives lot of foam). The seed (inside part) also acts as a soap. Hahaha I totally know what you mean. I am Spanish and have made many "tortillas de patatas" (Spanish potato omelette). To cook the top side, you have to put a plate on top of the pan and flip the pan and plate simultaneously so that the tortilla ends upside down on the plate, then you scoop it back into the pan to cook the other side. I have done this so many times without failing. The minute I tried to show my (Scottish) boyfriend how to do it ... well... you guessed it.... our whole kitchen counter and floor ended up covered with half-cooked egg and potato. Needless to say, the dog was very happy!

    Your hair looks gorgeous - i switched to all natural handmade soap 🧼, and hand made shampoo and conditionor. I looked up DIY hair things to help hair growth and i saw a no poo vid on apple cidar vinegar and aloe vera (you can was hair with ur normal poo n conditioner then use as a rinse afterwards) but it said you can use in replacement of shampoo and vinegar. I was going to try this recipe myself - but i saw a bottle of same thing where i buy my beer body soap/other moisturizing soaps 🧼 So i bought 1 and used it as soon as it came. I used it as my hair wash..AND OMG..my hair never felt "cleaner at roots and so very soft. But i wrote down ur recipe and i wanna try that too..as each apple cidar vinegar with aloe..8 oz is $33.00 - i feel that will end up being quite expensive..So im going to give this soapnuts recipe a shot - worried they dont carry soapnuts in my area. But im def gonna look. Your video was perfect..from beginning to end. You explained everything perfectly and had fun too. THANK YOU I WILL BE TRYING TO MAKE THIS. 😊😊😊 ~Colleen

    Could you link to a video about this? I have super long, thick, curly hair and I'm trying to find something natural that works. I have tried the conditioner method over and over again and it just gets horrible, like chewing gum. I really don't like when my hair gets fluffy either, I want it to be clean but with definition! I haven't found any chemical free method that works. I might try these soapnuts but as I said, I don't really want my hair to become fluffy! I have zero problems with fatty scalp, I can go for weeks without washing and it NEVER gets oily! The scalp gets waxy though if I would go that long without washing, but never oily. My hair strands seem to always have the scales on them standing out, if you understand what I mean? I have never been able to run my fingers through my hair, not even when I used to use products with silicones!! But now it's just horrible! I have been without silicones for about 1 1/2 years and trying to find something that works but with no luck. I have to cut everything off soon if I don't find anything that works. The problem is also that in order to be able to even comb it through I have had to use MCT-oil. Then iI t feels so much better..but then it's way more difficult to clean plus I think that even if the oil makes it feel better for the moment, I have a sneaking suspicion that it makes it worse over time. My hair just gets more and more like chewing gum. Help!🤪🤣

    Hi, I've been using soapnuts for hair for years. I'm not Indian but I tried and I liked it. I freeze the soapnuts liquid in an ice cube tray, and I use a special bottle to apply it. I also don't wet my hair before applying. Lately I've been washing my face with soapnuts too, they are very mild but get the job done. The only issue is not being able to use any styling products because of buildup. Anyone uses a heat protectant that is soapnuts friendly? Or a straightening conditioner?

  • @vartika.bhagat

    @vartika.bhagat

    5 ай бұрын

    I don’t think styling products could be used with soapnuts, they were used in times when there were no extra hair products, not even conditioners- I prefer not using heat on my hair , but soap nut hair are quite strong enough and have a film over the cuticle . Oiling is the way we Indians have ingrained- so it’s the best way of conditioning our hair. Personally I don’t like oil on scalp, so i take 1-2 drops of light oil(coconut, almond,jojoba, sesame ) and run my hand through fine straight hair ends - works exactly like conditioner . Try heatless ways of hairstyling if possible, to keep hair healthy.

    @@kevinschili3728 I’m using soap nuts once 3-5 days. Take 8-10 nuts and boil them about 10 minutes. Squeeze them to free all saponins and strain. I use this soap water when it’s warm (all dirt get out easier). Wash my hair upside down over the bowl, repeat it 2 times with the same soap water. Just rinse it on my oil roots and massage the scalp, water that flows down through the hair. Then I rinse my hair with clear warm water and finish with cold water. The day before I wash my hair, I can use a bit of oil on my ends to prevent dryness.
