You have to try fattening up the rooms by like at least 25% of their actual size. Maxis seems to do this on their builds, the shotgun houses in Willow Creek are massive compared to real ones.

i am impressed how good kayla recently got when it comes to exteriors of the houses. she's definitely branching out and it helps her creative process a ton

I agree!! I would really like to see her decorate a family backyard with the slip n’ slide too😌

I learned a trick recently from Sydney Macoretta: if you go into the second floor with the stairs and press control, you can place them on the floor underneath while being in the second floor so you can see where they place and it's a lot easier!!!! Saved my life

i would've used a sliding glass door to the backyard instead. Imagine opening that while you watch tv and the breeze justs basically puts you to sleep. A DREAM

@@Dhips. I’ve only played the sims freeplay before the sims 4, I have nothing to complain about because I never had anything better- 🏃🏾‍♀️

We have some of the cutest brick houses in St. Louis. We call them gingerbread houses. I've tried to build them in the sims, but the cute stone decorative elements don't exist in the Sims and it's always disappointing.

That's what I was hoping was going to happen!!

haven't even watched the vid yet, but i totally do this. there's a house across the street from me that's for sale, so i went on its Zillow listing... looked at all the photos...and recreated that house as best as i could in TS4. hope the owners don't find that weird. oh well, they want too much for their house.

Okay I know the house is super cute but can we take a moment to appreciate how adorable Simsie looks in that shirt. Like she always looks so pretty and that shirt is so fun.

Seeing Snap makes me cry every time. She looks like a twin of my cat who recently passed. She was also really clingy

I feel like every mansion I’ve looked at is so gaudy. The more expensive the house the worst the interior.

Challenge idea: every time lilsimsie wants to make the build smaller, she has to make it bigger.

lol AND she has to start on a 64x64 lot! On the one hand, it allows her to make it massive but maybe she would be less inclined to go tiny from the start so it may end up unexpectedly modest by most Simmer's standards. It would be fun to see the final result either way!

i’m the other way round lol. i can build the shell of a house but i have no idea how to furnish and just use the same stuff in every build

you’re glowing lately! you seem so much more confident in yourself recently. you’re so beautiful.

realistically it doesn't make sense to me to give the bigger rooms to older children/teens. Because children that really play with toys need the space instead of teens that actually need nothing more than a laptop and book shelf for their Entertainment. That's why I changed my big room with my little sisters tiny one when I was a teen and she was like 5.

I live in Southern Arizona and since most of the dirt here is clay, most houses are brick. What I don't think people from other places (namely places that don't have a lot of brick houses) realize is the creativity or the brick masons. The brick walls are patterned and textured differently making them like pieces of art.

Have you ever checked out McMansion Hell? I've been going through the blog archive and I love her takes on the "wealth doesn't buy taste" horror showcases.

Although you may make a lot of little brick houses we love each and every one of them! So please never stop!

The brick houses are one of the reasons I love being back in STL. This makes me finally want to break down and begin my house hunt. That could be miiiine and in University City.

A lot of homes that have two kids bedrooms of unequal size will have the kids share the same bedroom in the bigger room with a bunk bed, and use the smaller room as a playroom for the toys! Super cute to decorate each room, helps the kids to have a separation of play/sleep spaces, and just makes sense!

i’m from stl and grew up in a red brick house. the style of homes in stl is my favorite thing of all time. they’re always so cozy

Recreating real houses is one of my favorite things to do in sims. I’ve done it with a few friends’ houses, I’m gonna do it with my current house, I did it with my cousins, I did the apartment from New Girl, etc.

I don’t like dormers, but this house looks great. Very cute and I love the kitchen. Edit: forgot to mention the curvy stones around the flowers in front looks great!

If you go to the towns website of the houses you look at, check out the property card/town assessors section. Type in the address of the home and it will usually come up with a sheet showing the owner and a diagram of the house (some are more detailed than others). This way you can lnow the dimensions of the rooms/outside walls :)

The blue tile looks like granite, which is a natural hard stone and pretty expensive, especially in a more rare color. The same goes for the floor, which looks like red marble to me. It seems they just bought the most expensive materials they could find. As for the trim, we need an autotrim function that you can turn off and place the different variations yourself.

the way you did the floorpan was so smart oh my god, i don't know why but you always pull off doing a great floorplan in small home, so impressive!!!!

Where I live, almost all houses, old and new, are red brick or sometimes different versions of brick. I think my tiny village used to have three separate brick factories back in the day and now still has a big one because in the past, clay and raw materials used to be harvested here. I don't know where they get those now, though

Lilsimsie always does this thing where she picks the cutest swatches (in my opinion) and then she gets embarrassed and changes everything. and I'm always like NoooOOOOooo but that dark blue swatch was so pretty. 😦

I think the wrapping around kitchen would also look cool with rounded counters! Like the corner pieces and end pieces as round ends instead

it's those goofy mansions, with all its marbles and it's fun-sized, the perfect houses to recreate in the sims

I haven't been watching simsie for very long, but whenever she puts herself outside of her comfort zone and does something she normally wouldn't (like the kitchen or the landscaping) and ends up liking it and becoming more confident, i always find myself grinning stupidly. It so great to see someone (anyone!) trying something new and it's super encouraging as well!

Okay I have a pack idea. A golfing game pack. You can build your own golf course and make business deals while golfing. It could even come up with a part time job as golf caddy, and more business type careers that are freelancer types

Imagine if the trim on the wallpapers was like the counters or sectional sofas, that would just make so much sense!

Girl I miss the S3 wallpaper trim soo much I just give up and use collums on the corners now honestly

Those red toilets are cool! I mean they are horrible but if I could get red toilet, plumbing and bath i wouldn’t even hesitate! It’s so cool!

I totally wish lilsimsie would download the tool mod. You could use it to scale you rugs to perfect size and it doesn't mess with it in the gallery. It leaves your changes and doesn't mark it as a cc build or anything.

I live in one of those cute little St Louis brick homes. Haven't tried recreating it in the Sims yet Now I want a swing set for my yard.

Come to Pensacola in the panhandle to fulfil your brick house needs! We have a good amount of them! But I totally get what you mean about the stucco homes. When we were looking for houses in Orlando and that area, that's pretty much all we came across, besides double wides on 15 acres of land.
