BTW, the Patek Philippe Aquanaut is the homage, not the other way around. Mido produced that TV shaped case in the 70s. Patek "borrowed" it for the Aquanaut in 1997.

My brother is really into TV dial watches, he intimated, and lamented the lack of choice. For the entry level of higher quality (non-vintage) TV dials, this one is right up there. I love its somewhat quirky yet horologically serious personality. It may not be what I'd prefer wearing, but I can see it on his wrist. I'm not sure if he feels the same way!

Early batches of this watch had a fault in the movement where quick setting the date would not work you would need to advance the time for the date to tick over. Send your watch back to Mido as this is covered by warranty and it will be sorted out fairly quickly :). There's also a new rose gold model that's stunning.

I had seen the brand Mido for years. A few years back the Tribute came out and i have been waiting for a good deal. Well the deal came and will be picking it up this week. Great for its price! Will be a great addition to my daily watch rotation.

It's an interesting and great looking watch. And kinda does the integrated bracelet look without being an integrated bracelet. Haven't really paid attention to Mido. They should have lumed the big date. That would have been a great touch.

A very attractive Mido . Distinctive presence on Wrist I’d say . Opportunity to fill the 00:00 on the Bezel with matching Lume by Mido was not undertaken . Possibly recessed into the bezel to compliment the indices in a novel fashion . Would add lots to the Symmetry of the TV Dial . As to the question of the Top Coat - AR application ? The technology has greatly reduced the probability of Micro-scratches visible to most of us and should hold up for a long while . Although , care must be taken when cleaning the Crystal . The similar care practiced for Eyeglass wearers . A soft , clean , Microfiber cloth used only for your watches is always the best way to go …. 🕶️ Yo Mido . I measure . I ‘reckon pardner 🤠☝️

Mido has that magic in their watches, even their vintage watches have it.

Great review Adrian right on point, I've been enjoying this piece for about four months now and it keeps time within plus 3to4 seconds which is quite remarkable, I wish all my new Rolex's were this accurate.

I actually said “Wow!” at first glance. The green dial is beautiful! I’m not crazy about the butterfly clasp, and no micro-adjustment is definitely a negative for me.

CERTINA DS-7 series models do not see the value it deserves in the market. It is a very stylish and solid model. Can you review this model?

Mido have more and more nice watch but also more and more expensive..but its a good brand,i worn years ago the comander 1959 who cost 600$ and was realy nice and very good watch,now they change for the new 195o with saphyr glass and mouvment certified cosc,realy a big change,and deserve to be worn,only problem she cost now 1500$,but a lot of 1500$ watch dont have cosc mouvment..so well done mido

My issue with Mido which also applies to Certina and most of the other mid-tier Swatch Group stuff is they just put zero effort into their case designs. The case sides are all slabs with no mixed finishes, they either brush it or polish it and that's it. Just a slab of steel. They do that because it's *cheap* to do it that way. Bevels and mixed brushing and polishing are a lot more expensive to machine. A mechanical big date at this price is certainly neat, but if you don't care about that I don't know why you'd buy one of these over any number of other watches around that price point.

wow, i think u need to do more research cause u left out a critical part. the big date TV first batch is well known to have date wheel getting stuck, so many people were complaining that they bought a brand new watch and have to send it back for service. many people were selling few months old big date TV for 30-40% off

Those with the date wheels issue were the first generation, I've had my watch for over 5 months without a problem. The mechanism changes flawlessly.

Certina, Mido, Rado have absolutely no Q rating within the watch idiot savant community. These brands allegedly tick all the boxes of historicity, provenance, tradition, Swiss-ness but people just DNGAF in the slightest about these brands. Every once in a while a model from one them will shuffle out and into the consciousness like the _Captain Crook_ or the _Nintendo DS_ but I never see those models present in SOTC pics. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

That is one ugly Nautilus homage , no thanks !
