Would I be correct in guessing that the majority of people who are annoyed and hating on this sponsered vid. Probably were still in diapers when MapleStory came out? :D Because, if you don't know what Maplestory is, you're either very young or have been living under a rock. Here's a brief little synapse~ This game originally came out in 2003. 2005 in North America. So ya, to say it's old is an understatement. However, this game was extremely unique for its time and bolstered millions of active users. Because of the toned down graphics, this meant the game was more widely accessible at the time for almost everybody. This, coupled with emphasis on exploration. Helped bridge a gap in online socializing and interacting. It also still remains widely popular in the country it was created in, South Korea. Yes, MapleStory is not what it once was. I will agree its gone downhill. But dont sh*t on a groundbreaking game unless its sh*t on you in the past. Or on Drae, just because hes trying to make some extra money. If you come here for the videos and not for Drae himself, find a different youtuber.

Kinda sorta encouraging to see new people coming in... if you ever DO come back to this, and are looking for a "knight" character, you'll want to make an "Explorer" category of character, and in the dialogue options, you wanna pick "Warrior". Once you get to Level 30, you'll be able to specialize in one of the three main Warrior sub-classes: Fighter (Swords and Axes), Page (Maces or Swords), or Spearman (Polearms or Spears), which at the highest levels become Hero (high damage/burst), Paladin (tank/support) and Dark Knight (hard to kill) respectively. I'm A pretty old Mapler myself, so if need be, I can offer advice or help if needed Have fun -T.K.

@@guyonabudget6389 I actually don't really have a guide per se as a good chunk of MS's gameplay is pretty basic (duh... i press button make number go boom). It really does come down (if you wanna have the most "fun") to what your playstyle is. there are TONS of characters for that, plus some interesting story for each class that does play into the larger story as a whole. If you're looking to optimize or min/max... you might need to look up guides that are MUUUUUCH more detailed than I would be (and a credit card as well as a few dozen hours). You might weant to look up some Maplers called Coppersan or x3TheAran59, as they are the ones that i know about who would have some good guides if you are looking for "optimized" play. As far as I am concerned, I am a BIG lore junkie, so I tend to focus more on the stories of the game than anything. If you're looking for the optimal storyline to understand what's going on, sure I can help there, but less in the technical areas.

The only time people unfamiliar with maplestory make a video on it is when they get a sponsorship, and then they never touch it again. Game is dead.

Honestly one of fave games, the absurd damage and insanely cool flashy stuff just lure me in. Love it even today!

Unfortunately this game has changed a lot since my childhood, now its more like a solo gameplay when in the past you should have more interactivity with people

This really came out of nowhere but it looks cool would like to see some more

I used to be famous in this game back in the early days. Even my first KZread video from 16 years ago is me and some of my guild mates playing together. The game has been completely ruined for over a decade. Nexon doesn't listen to any of it's fan base and the game is dying. I have long since stopped playing, as it is now a very terrible game. They did come out with a Maplestory 2 in around 2018, which I did get into and ended up enjoying much more than what Maplestory 1 now is. Many people share this sentiment. But Nexon doesn't care. They shut down Maplestory 2 in American after only a year or two. This game is very bad.

Damn I never played maple story and I was born in 2000.

Drae: barely does paid promotions and even than they are fun! His “fans”: ugh a paid promotion how stupid, do other vidoes blah blah Sorry your free entertainment isn’t good enough for you all. But I enjoy Drae for Drae no matter the game!

Good god this brings back childhood addiction withdrawals. I sank countless hours into this game as a teenager. I remember back when it was the original 4 with Archer, knight, mage, and theif. Then the pirate. For the longest time it was just those 5. Now it's a billion characters with overwhelming cash grab attempts and no real sense of reward for your efforts. Everything is handed to you now in this game. It used to be hard as hell to get to level 120. In the course of probably a couple hours you made it to over 100. Absolutely ridiculous.

Did... did they fix the log-in problem? Because seriously, the game has been basically unplayable for like five years now since they implemented the "full instalation check on log-in" system. Either you had the game installed in an SSD hard drive, so you could wait the full check that still took like 10 minutes, or you couldn't play at all. Frankly for so many reasons I'd dropped the game already, but that made it actually unplayable even in the odd touch of nostalgia... :(

Stop zooming in with the camera every five seconds! It's annoying and takes people out of the immersion

Yea this looks like a trash mobile game. Different strokes for different folks though. If Drae played the same genre over and over people would get bored, and I don’t blame him for shilling on games like this. In the end it boils down to making money and everyone wants to make the most they can in the field they work in. This is no different, he does yt as a full time job so why not explore new ways to make a little more while you’re at work. If people hate it it he moves on and no harm no foul.

I mean... I love drae and I literally watch every video regardless of how much the game appeals to me simply because I enjoy his personality and commentary. But even I have to admit that this is the worst game I have ever seen on this channel. Drae, you probably won't read this but if you do I hope you don't take this in a hurtful way. I like moistcritikal'a content, I do not use him as my deciding factor for stuff even though he does reviews, he's an entertainer and so that's what use him as.
