I Tried Making & Sculpting Soap Clay - 100% Soap Koi Fish Pond | Royalty Soaps

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

So basically I made vegan soap clay from cold process soap, attempted to sculpt something that would be difficult to do with regular clay, and then well.......I got this this koi fish pond made 100% out of soap. It took 5 hours. I would do it again. lol

I'm so grateful that I get to occasionally work with brands I actually like to create sponsored videos. Their direct support helps keep this channel afloat in the ever unstable world of KZread ad revenue. These videos will always be disclosed, of course, and I appreciate everyone's kind support for these partnerships. Royalty Soaps also participates in commission or discount affiliations, like Amazon or RewardStyle, as these opportunities become available, like Amazon and RewardStyle and while the money we make with these links isn't much, every little bit counts and once again, we really appreciate your support! OMG! Thank you so much 🙈 I really appreciate all your kind words! I have noticed that the color does indeed affect the texture of the soap; reds/oranges cause a more soft, pliable result. Side note: If it's crumbly when you start to knead it it should be fine. Continue mashing it as much as you can, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and give it a few more hours to over night - it will soften up or at least it does for me 😄 I absolutely LOVE the soap you made!! Gorgeous!

The entire little thing of Katie talking to herself/us about how it was ok that she didn't do a perfect job and with her acknowledging her strengths and weaknesses in a healthy or positive way made my night. I just finished a really hard lab report that I had been crying about the night before and now here she is, being so okay with failure and so ok with acknowledging the fact that she could and would grow as a soap maker and it feels like shes talking to me. It feels like she's telling me that I can mess up and still be fine. It just made me really happy. 9:25 to 10:17

Yes, the paper cup storage was a big issue, and I’m sure all colorants could behave differently, but I’m surprised no one mentioned that she also used popsicle sticks to mix the smaller ones and the stick blender for the big ones. That could have accelerated trace and contributed to it as well...

Lol I sculpt with polymer clay and just starting to use resin. I love how positive you are even when you think you didn't do great because there is no such thing as failure! Their learning steps! If something doesn't work then way one feels it should, take a step back, think about what you did then think about ways to improve and make it better! I feel that applies to ANYTHING in life that we may come across. I'll be sure to try this with p polymer clay and resin! I think your soap turned out beautifully!

I find every batch is so different and every mica or colorant is definitely different too. I put mine in baggies and let them sit if crumbly. If sticky I let it sit out a few minutes and then try again. Super cute soap! 😁

Katie, great job! I love how you decorated the koi! When I tried soap dough, I cured my soap in zipper bags. You can squeeze all the air out. After the cure, just transfer to the sealed plastic cups you have! It works great. 👍😊
