I worked in a vintage shop. We stocked vintage furs, and many older women walked into that shop sighing "Oh, I had one of these. Wish to goodness I'd never gotten rid of it in the name of fashion."
Vintage fur is rad. I would never purchase a new fur coat, but I own quite a few vintage fur pieces. Why just let them rot? Such a waste.

I think it might be problematic to perpetuate the idea that fur is a fashion item. Perhaps if we stopped wearing synthetic and vintage fur we could phase fur out of its role as a style item. On a side historical note, Joe DiMaggio slapped Marilyn for that iconic pose over the grate because he felt it too immodest for a lady.
@veronicasuestarlite4080

On a historically accurate side, it wasn't until after Marilyn married Joe his raging jealously came out. This wasn't the first time Joe abused Marilyn but it was the last. Marilyn divorced Joe 9 months after marring him and the coward didn't even show up in court for the divorce.

Your historian is wrong about the fur. It's Norwegian blue fox. The fox would have been Arctic white fox . The blue fox cape is More of a 70's peice. A blue fox that old would have oxidation. And would be almost brown by now.
