I think the reason this worked for Leonardo is that his brain is not wired like ours. He was unique in every way.

Anyone can get use to it, its unpractical, you have to suffer for a month and after 60 days it becomes a habit. Also no cafeine

Hats off to you on being so disciplined. I could truly use you as an inspiration. People had no internet back then and so they spent hours and hours just doing their jobs and that does require focus and immense dedication. You pulled off the challenge well enough.

Today I watched my first of your videos after being sent here by Bill Making Stuff. I watched a few more, really liking what I was seeing ... and then I chanced upon your Big Pokemon Card video! (Watch out for the light!) That was hilarious and pretty awesome so I've subscribed. Originally I was planning to subscribe to follow the Ten Hundred Painting Challenge but now it's because your videos are pretty damned excellent. I look forward to watching loads and loads so keep it up. Okay?

I did night-shifts for 15 years, remaining awake for 24, even 40 hours to maximize days off When at my drawings heights, went to sleep, dreamed and woke up thinking of my artwork Thinking that Da Vinci did his night drawings on only candle or oil lamp is crazy to us now!! 30 years later, my sleep is an absolute mess, my mind is focused ..or completely unhinged

Insane routine.. the key to this is I think to really get those 20 minutes. I’m so bad at falling asleep in seconds. Also he did not have coffee right? I suppose that’s where the shaky hands come from.😂

Very much depends on what ppl's ideas of "productivity" are. Where the 3D world is concerned, this protocol is not conducive to productivity (aka getting more shit done). But, if one is interested in altered states of consciousness and tapping into the infinite field of intelligence beyond this world - it's extremely productive. I don't think Tesla, Da Vinci, Einstein, Edgar Cayce, etc. were interested in pumping out "more" work - performing more, but instead performing better/more efficiently outside of the constraints of this System. Of course, the sleep schedule is only one aspect of things. Diet, lifestyle, environment, all play a part. If you're someone who wants to draw fresh information into this space. I think it's worth experimenting with.

terry tao has a blog post, he is extremely productive and explains that he does it be maximising the efficiency of the time available to him, rather than maximising the time he is awake. So quality is more important than quantity.

I imagine that the schedule is very difficult to settle into and your own body needs to adjusted to this unique sleep cycle. I do wonder how DaVinci worked with no electricity! I am going to offer you this thought, I have found that I have fewer hours of connected sleep as I have gotten older! I seldom sleep longer than 6 hours at a time, this started about 10 years ago and I will be 61 this month! (November) I don’t get out of my bed after just 6 hours but it does take time to go back to sleep! Maybe I should just get up and draw or paint, even something more creative ? Who knows. Best of luck to you!

Duuuude, I wouldn't be able to fall asleep mid-day. Even if I would, for me waking up takes forever so I'd be completely unproductive haha That routine is craaayzaaaay so I'll just stick to drinking tons of coffee and energy drinks with 3-4h of sleep every other day, seems o kinda work better for me haha 🌴🎭

Interesting experiment. I'm 55 and post-perimenopausal, so I don't have hormones for an excuse to fail if I would try this. But my old head wounds might have something to say about it. lol Bravo!

Wow, great job trying this crazy routine! I honestly don't know how anyone could do it... seems like your brain wouldn't get a proper sleep cycle (usually one cycle is about 90 minutes long) and you'd be missing out on the "work" of sorting and storing your brain does while sleeping.

Believe it or not, my routine and daily schedule isn’t far off from his. Totally unintentionally, of course. I also haven’t had a job since 2018, so getting a full 7-8 hours of test isn’t so important for me, as I can nap when I need to.

I had this routine from time to time, not by choice, but it's ruining your health. we are 100% different from people of other generations. the air was pure, life was natural, stress was different. now,we live in a concrete box,we live oxygen deprived,we eat and drink toxins, and our brain is weak from birth. two generations ago,the simple act of breathing was different. have you noticed how shallow is your breathing when you stat connected to your phone or computer? generations ago...don't try to live their lives, live yours,in your pace.

You might get 13 additional years by doing this routine from 27 to 80, but the quality of those years is lowered, and you've probably shaved many years off your life expectancy too so.... In the end you might have not actually gotten 13 extra years

Unfortunately, you were doomed to fail from the start. Apart from Da Vinci being an intellectual anomaly, he was able to work this routine as he had no social life during the times he worked. He napped in darkness by blocking out the windows which was important for his circadian rhythm. The lighting at night was not artificial light, which did stimulate receptors to a heightened state. He focused on the task at hand, which was at the level of obsession. He was not distracted with technologies of today, and having his circadian rhythm disrupted with illuminated computer screens, or the sound of ringing phones or music. The diet of his day never had the sugars or stimulants the diets of today have. Sir, you were behind the Eight Ball from minute one.
