I have tried a matte screen protector for my 14 Pro Max to help reduce the glare and it helped. It was also a nice smooth swiping experience and it kinda help put less strain on my eyes somehow. But eventually I got tired of the frosted look and when I removed it?…..MAAAAAAAN the clarity of the natural screen was amazing!!!

How long did you have it on? Some people report that removing the screen protector can damage the top coating (lamination) of the screen. Did you find that to be the case with your display?

⁠@@l.s.11 not true. I removed mine and the display was like brand new with oleophobic coating- smooth as heck. So go for it if you're thinking about it

make sense since the light is dissipated. Very obvious when you're using it in the dark

Good screen cover BUT the dynamic Island cutout is kinda ugly for 29$

I don’t even know why there is a Dynamic Island cutout on all the screen protectors. The notch would make sense to not have a protector, as that is part of the screen and doesn’t move. But the island? It’s all digital as Apple uses software to create the black pill. The only physical things are the selfie camera and some sensors, which are the only places that need cutouts. Not the whole island.

In my experience, there are differences in both texture and look of matte screen protectors. I had a mothca branded one and it felt and sounded more like rough sandpaper, and when looking at the screen it appeared to make it more blurry up close. However I have since used BENKS matte screen protectors and they have a nicer matte finish which feels more smooth, doesn’t sound like sandpaper when swiping, and doesn’t appear to show much blurriness when looked at up close so I highly recommend it if anyone is looking for an affordable matte protector.

Came to say thank you, I actually followed this comment and bought benks as well and can vouch. This is exactly what I was looking for! any other brand it's more blurry and sound like sandpaper when swiping but this does not and is a perfect blend between reg screen protector & matte protector.

Sandpaper? Lmao no. Not even close. I have the mothka matte and it feels very smooth, just not quite as smooth as tempered glass protectors

@@Mattened It's more that it sounds loud when swiping (sandpaper was the best example of the noise) compared to the Benks (I had some people bring it up to me when I was at work and I noticed it in quiet places). Nothing wrong with either just that for the price, the image quality upclose and texture of the protector were differences that stood out to me when I used them both so that was my advice by my previous comment in case people were worried about trying a matte screen protector for the first time.

As soon as I picked up my iPhone 15 pro max I got the Belkin screen protector at the Apple Store and they applied it for me ☺️ it’s a life time warranty when registered so it’s nice to know the price includes that. No complaints here it’s worked great and feels fine 😄

I tried a Zagg screen protector that I found out was matte. I didn’t like it, but I didn’t dislike it. I do prefer their glass elite vision guard variant. The blue light feature has been a god send to my eyes.

the reason the dynamic island part being clear is bc of the front camera. So it reads your face better and doesnt glare up the videos and photos etc

Before putting on a matte tempered glass or matte scratch card, it's better to use a higher-quality one, even though it might cost more. Cheaper matte tempered glass can damage your phone screen resolution. I'm sharing this based on my experience. Also, a tip: matte tempered glass is mainly for gamers, and it would look nice, but it might not be good for regular use.

To enjoy the matte screen protector, switch to dark theme at increase brightness to 75%.... It looks absolutely incredible and even saves battery

I like screen protectors since I usually keep my phones for quite awhile.. i’ve been using the insignia screen protectors that you get from Best Buy. You get two of them for like 20 bucks for the 15PM and they’re easy to put on and seem to hold up well

Matte Screen protectors on the iPad just makes so much sense to me. It’s now my go to thing when I first get a new iPad. 😌

I've been asking for a matte screen protector when smartphones become popular. I always get sleepy or dizzy whenever I face a reflective screen longer than 20 minutes. The one manufacturer from Hong Kong (an Asian region) where I've been a loyal customer to no longer produces matte protectors as back then no one uses thin plastic, it's eventually replaced by glass protectors (and it's freaking reflective), I still had roughly 15 pieces with me before upgrading to iPhone 14 Pro. Once upgraded to iPhone 14 Pro, I immediately searched online for matte screen protectors, preferably a privacy guard; it's 2024 & I had it on for almost 2 years, and there's not even a single scratch on it.

Omg, i didn't know this one was GLASS. Legit might have to get one of these. Wonder if they have one for the 13 mini as well

I used to use matte screen protector on iPhone XR. There were no problem until I compared with another iPhone's screen quality.

Align the screen protect with the speaker on top and make sure the gap between left and right are equal then slowly release the screen protector from top to bottom and normally it gonna be some bubble at the bottom part then u just need ur finger nail to gentle separate the screen protector with ur phone screen and push the bubble away and u got a perfect screen protector placed. This is my trick hope u like it hahaha

Forget the screen protector, that Home Screen is dope for an iPhone!

I always use Matte Screen protectors on all my phones and the feel looks so great ! But cheaper matte screen protectors though !

I like matte in order to reduce glare. However, I found that fingerprints were more noticeable than clear glass and also more difficult to wipe off, so I switched to clear glass.

I much prefer a matte screen protector due to the lack of reflections, but have yet to find one that's made of tempered glass, only plastic film (which I believe will not protect the screen from impact as well). Perhaps a glass protector and matte protector from the same manufacturer could be stacked. Hmmmm....

Very informative video, i personally use my phone without any protection. I really like the raw feeling of the screen, back and the frame 🥰

How is the oleophobic coating on the matte screen protector holding up? Any micro scratches so far?

I’ve tried many screen protectors for the 15 PM and I always end up pealing them off… I really cant stand how the bottom edge of the screen protector feels when im swiping up. terrible

its always the same story my display never cracked when dropped but using a protector makes the protector crack within 1 or 2 weeks and ive had my phone for over a year now and only had 2 screen protectors that like i said lasted 1-2 weeks

I don't use screen protectors like forever ... Avoid putting them in my pockets or put them in coat pocket. But I would love to see native matte screens, like matte screen laptops, or less reflective screens like S24 Ultra has introduced. But then again there is no replacement for naked screen

Im using zeelot blu ray screen protector and it quite good

People pay big money for these phones and a part of the reasoning is for the amazing displays then some of those people are willing to put a matte screen protector over it which is astonishing.

no offense but who doesnt use screen protectors like you will get scratches PLUS if you break or chip your phone its permanent but with a screen protector you gotta hope the crack didnt go through and if it didnt then you could just peel it off and your phone is fine so.

Mura lang dito sa Philippines . 150 pesos sa palengke, matte screen protector na. 350 to 500 pesos naman sa malls. Pero same lang din quality hehe.

I use Spigen GlastR. Its okay i guess. It does the job.

A good screen protectors are not only durable tho..but there should be a cutouts on the screen protectors to allows phone sensors to work properly..if you're using one without some sort of cutout just ditch it..not worth to use..as it will make phone sensors not working properly due to the extra layer of the screen protectors..

a good one makes zero difference, my 15 pro max one is fully covered and has zero issue.

I'm using Xiaomi 14 ultra, it's best in most aspects except battery drain issue. Guess it has to do with the hyper OS. Hope its resolved in updates. But I won't mention it as a showstopper because the charging speed is very fast so you are covered.
