I am from Greece, and Greece is not expensive, actually you went to Santorini and Mykonos which are places that a normal Greek person might only visit once in his life. Mykonos is a place where all Greeks talk about how expensive is. And having been there there are so many places and islands in Greece that are not broadly popular but much more cheap and beautiful. I hope you enjoyed you holidays in Santorini and Mykonos but I hope you will also visit some other Greek islands and places in order to understand better the wealthy cultural heritage of our country. Keep it up bro, love you content

@@baseb343 there are almost 2.000 islands in Greece 227 are inhabited 79 of them have a population of over 100 inhabitants and 53 of them over 1000. I suggest you do a little research! The most popular ones are Kyklades with almost 30 islands, the most expensive being Mykonos and Santorini but all of the other ones share the same beauty (my personal favourite is Mylos). The second most popular island is Crete the biggest Island of Greece, it certainly doesn't remind you of an island when you arrive by a boat because of the size of it but it's beaches have another story to tell (my favourite one being in Mpalos, Kefalonia one of the best in Europe)

I live in Italy and I've been in Greece two years ago (before covid happened) and I have to say Greece is one of the less expensive countries in Europe to visit. My friends and I paid 150€ per person to stay 7 days in a residence at Kos, with pool and many other facilities. Most beaches were free, as well as discos, restaurants and transportation are inexpensive. Also people is super friendly. You can definitely visit Greece on a budget!! :)

Wow. What's the name of the hotel or inn that costs 150 € for 7 days?
I have been 50 times to Greece. Greece is NOT expensive whatsoever. Mykonos and Santorini are the more expensive places in Greece. And EVEN in Santorini I have been in many wonderful appartment stays for 40 euro a night even with breakfast. For 50 euro you get even more wonderful places. But it's not expensive whatsoever. If you go to the caldera it can be more expensive easily, but you know. I am a person that loves being outside and walk around. It means I don't need a 400 euro per night stay. Instead. I do a 40-50 euro stay per night, walk around and spend more money on all kinds of food places around Santorini, rent a car etc. For the same money.

From the 22:03 mark he says there's ways to save money such as splitting the costs and he also mentions that you can go to many other islands that are significantly more affordable. He also said, at the beginning & ending of the video, that this wasn't going to be a budget-friendly video and that they were specifically going to the more expensive islands to showcase a more "realistic" travel experience when you're not trying to go on a super tight budget. But he also did another video in Greece where they were on a super tight budget and visited a much more affordable island. He recognizes the cheaper alternatives and that it's not all super high priced, don't worry haha.

Thanks for the tour. The views were BREATHTAKING. I last visited Greece with both sets of grandparents (U.S. and French) and my parents when I was a teenager in the 1960's. In those days, even in a nice hotel, it was eggplant and lamb/mutton and super-rich hot chocolate for dessert/snack! That was pretty much the menu every day. There was no smog, and the Acropolis was pristine--unspoiled by pollution.
Stunning shots! Well done. Can't wait to travel Greek Islands soon :)
We have been so blessed to visit Greece. We drove from the southern point of Greece to the top of Greece, stayed on Crete and sailed around Oía to watch the sunset (Santorini is a volcano and the top blew so when you’re sailing around, you literally are in the crater of the volcano. That’s why the sunsets are so spectacular. You can see it every night from all over the island. The rays reach across the crater and just dance across the water. It’s the most magical sunsets you’ll ever see. Most sunsets are far away and you are just looking at them. Sunsets in Santorini stretch across the sky and kiss your eyes every night. They bathe you in their light.) We also saw the statue of Leonidas, king of Sparta. And stood where the barrel of the 300 happened. We soaked in the magical healing hot springs in Thessaloniki. The fish in a small restaurant in the Athens was the best fish we ever ate. And had this bada$$ woman boat captain who was barely 5 ft tall take us on the most amazing fishing trip in Crete where we caught fresh octopus and she grilled it right there on the boat for us. It was the most delicious and fresh seafood I’ve ever had. (Oía was so crowded. I would say go once for the sunset and blue domes but spend the rest of your time exploring other parts of Greece. It’s very affordable. And drive if you can. You’ll see so much more of the country that way.)
Great content. We are going to Greece next year on a cruise but planning spend a couple extra days in Santorini. I am looking forward to it even more after watching your video!!

Yeah Thira and Mykonos are the most expensive islands in the Mediterran but Greece as a whole isn´t that expansive. Also don´t miss the mainland: Monemvasia, Meteora, south suburbs of Athens, Nafplio, Pylos...

@@noahbarbosa I guess it’s a matter of preference on how you spend your money and where you’re flying from. Flights Boarding Food Excursions (activities) Shopping -For two people- None of those are cheap. When I travel I like to do as much as possible, for a weeks worth and everything they did in this video including a cooking class 👨🏻🍳 , in my opinion it’s a deal. Then again that’s just my opinion, I’m sure you can find cheaper but now you’re comparing apples to oranges, this videos purpose was not to showcase a budget friendly way to travel to Greece but more so a Greek experience without breaking the bank. Fun fact #1: These building are colourful cause back in the day, fishermen could tell apart which one is theirs from a distance, as they returned from fishing, and so they got preserved as an aesthetic element.
