for the strider not going through the portal at 51:00 im pretty sure its because you need to go through the portal yourself first to load the overworld side, that way the portal has something to send the strider through to, that way it will be able to properly go through it.

I play Minecraft bedrock on PS4 & I just go on the other side of portal with a fungus on a stick & the strider go towards it & goes in the portal.. but if it get rains on in the overworld it will die

I'm surprised he believes striders can't go through portals, there is literally an achievement for a strider to walk on lava in the normal dimension, which is achievable in survival

I was attacked by a polar bear with a cub while I was on my horse last time I played my survival world, so I killed it for attacking me when I did nothing lol

that would be pretty ironic since polar bears are the only type of bear that will actively hunt humans (also penguins i believe and skyes has a penguin skin)

Mobs like the strider can go through the portal. It’s even an achievement for it. It probably didn’t go through the portal because you didn’t go through the portal to load in the over world portal chunks.

the fact that the roller coaster went from being five to ten minutes to being a full hour makes me so strangely happy

Just so you know Skyes, instead of putting sponges in the furnace to dry them, just go into the nether and place them down, then mine them up again. Hope this helps!

the "silenced" name is actually an external datapack! i've seen lots of youtubers use it. if you name a mob "silence me" with the pack active, it'll change to "silenced", and mute all noises from the mob! there are mods that do it too, but if anyone else wants to use it for newer versions it could be a little harder to find :)

I loved this series And a quick note ,when you make a new nether portal , you need to go through to load the chunks so you need to go first and then mobs and a strider can be catched like this

43:28 Yeah, those silverfish didn't die. They simply decided that your sandstone floor was a nice place to live. Some of those sandstone blocks are now infested sandstone and you can pick them up with the silverfish inside of them using silk touch.

Striders can go through nether Portals. you just hadn't loaded the other side.

one key factor alot of people are missing with portals is that you need to go through the portal yourself to link it on the other side otherwise it wont work also yes pls bring this back next year

@Skyes please actually read through this whole comment, I understand its long but it contains my honest opinion and I really hope you continue this series. Pls read the comment. We need to you to continue this series in 2023. Please continue playing on this world if you do actually continue with this method of content. I think it's absolutely amazing what you've done in this world, and I don't want you to throw it all away and then next November do the same stuff for a few episodes like: getting diamond and then netherite armour, building an automatic item sorting system, building automatic farms. You also haven't even created a house yet and there are still so many things for you to do in this world and just not enough time in one month to do them all. So please continue the series, and I love the break from all the hardcore movies and more daily uploads.

Ive been playing minecraft for over 10 years now, and I have only ever found the jungle temple once, so your definitely doing better than me Skyes. (Of course this could be because I avoid jungles like the plague, I’ve never had a proper gaming setup, I play on a 5 year old laptop currently, before that it was one of those desktops in which the monitor is as large as the pc, so jungles lag me pretty good, especially since 1.18 made the world larger.)

This must be the first time I see a Strider NOT going through the portal...

as someone who watches lets game it out that tornado is acurate

I really enjoyed this series

It is a passive mob but if it has a cub it attacks if you get to close

You have to load the other side of the portal first because mobs can't load terrain that's how you get the strider. =D

the fact that skye has not understood that minecraft mobs dont like pathfinding onto rails, is entertaingin and frustrating at the same time

Half your difficulty with getting the mobs was that they actively avoid going on rails

About the strider, you need to go through the portal yourself first, because mobs cannot generate portals in the other dimension. So you have to go throught yourself in order for the portal to work for mobs as well ; )

I feel like skyes is a huge planet coaster fan.

I think you need to be riding the Strider, then it'll go through a portal. Think about it, there's an advancement using Striders specifically in the overworld.

Great series, and you should totally do this next year! For future reference, you could just take off your thorns armor when collecting mobs, or make a new pair with no thorns.

I like this since I started watching your old series a little late so I’m happy that I can watch this series from the start

next year you should be like ryan trahan and add things like if someone donates $100 you will throw away all of your armour or somthing like that

Skye ! The king of rollercoasters 🎢 🎉

Just some things, a few circles of rails around the pit would have helped, after each round kill off what you don't want and send the rest off. Ravagers do get in minecarts but their hitboxes usually collide around the corners of tracks so thats the easiest way to get them in. I think striders were explained by others. Mobs you can get using lighting/ lightning rods: villagers to witches, creepers to charged creepers, red mooshrooms to brown ones, pigs to zombified piglins, and something with cows I think. I hope some of that helps for the future. P.S. You figured out the rail thing but nearly every mob has code for them to not walk over rails, so you were working against them there a few times getting them into their hotels. Great for doorways though, keeps them out of mob proofed areas.
