    One detail I really like about this movie is that... well... most probably it was Toothless himself who ripped out Hiccup's foot. If you carefully see the shot when Toothless is diving into the fire to save him, it makes only sense that he grabbed Hiccup by the limb, in order to be able to shield him with his body, wich probably resulted in Hiccup loosing that limb because of the force involved. So they kinda hurted each other, but in doing so really cemented their friendship and the parallel between them.

    the way hiccup was different before toothless and dragon training kept almost getting him and those around him killed.after toothless during dragon training,while it was different,it kept him safe. Also, you're the only one I've seen who noticed when stoic said "with you doing so well in the arena,we finally have something to talk about" It wasnt it was him loving hiccup all of a sudden because ability he just figured that hiccup would be doing so good if he didn't like fighting dragons, and he finally has something in common with his dad he can talk about Before,they couldn't be more different, and finding a topic to talk about with someone so different takes a lot of time. Time which stoick,as a chief, doesn't have He was so genuinely excited to have a real in depth conversation with his son.

  • @ErikGrimms

    @ErikGrimms

    Yeah Stoick must have been so happy to finally have something he could share with his son. Because like, I totally buy that he loves his son and wants the best for him, he's just stressed and has a lot on his plate plus he doesn't really have any other interests because of the role as chief. Also, fight dragons is what he's the best of the best at, he can finally teach and help his son. That's why it hurt so bad when he found out that his son wasn't like him at all and that it wasn't something they could share.

    I might be a bit late but. About the poisonous and venomous thing, poison is a defensive mechanism whilst venom is an offensive mechanism. It's pretty easy to remember, as my teacher in high school put it. "The P in poison also stands for protection". Except just being poisonous isn't helpful, as for poison to work, you need a creature to eat you, or at least take a bite out of you. Which as you can imagine, is not that condusive to your wellbeing. That's why animals which have poison also most of the time have bright colours as a warning sign indicating "hey, you're going to be screwed if you eat me, so lets just do our own thing".

    I have seen this movie sooo many times and it just hit me (I might be slow) but Hiccup was out the entire time that the village accomodated their home for the dragons. So they never needed Hiccup telling them how or what to do, they just needed someone to change their mind about the dragons - the rest was the villgers willingly making the changes. It's a nice thing that shows that the village truly has changed for the better. Great reaction, btw :)

Like dog and a little bit of horse too! The dad part i understand, but you can see that he instantly regrets saying that as he almost faints. Also will you react to the series...es as well? Finally, so far you’re the only one who figured it out, eel is poisonous to dragons

  • @gregeast5381
    @gregeast53812 жыл бұрын

    15:40 They actually explain this reaction in a spin off series on Netflix where Toothless actually accidentally eats an eel and gets really sick, but the eel itself is not poisonous. As for the difference for poisonous vs venomous. Poison must be ingested, or eaten, to be effective, where as venom must be injected. Think about it as venomous snakes and poisonous frogs. Frogs do not bite to inject poison, but rather poison predators when eaten. That is why they have the bright coloring: to tell predators that they might be poisonous. However, venomous animals do not have that same color distinction. Most just try to blend in as most are predators using their venom to hunt their prey. Fun facts for your next trivia week.

    Cats are very loyal!!! Have you ever met a Birman or Balinese? My baby Balinese tried to fight off a Retriever for me! 🤣 Rather similarly to Toothless running into the ring, come to think. (Granted the Retriever was sweet and kind and extremely elderly, had cat friends, and she belonged to my landlady, but my kitty was only 7 pounds/3.1kg and he did not know any of this 🤣🤣🤣) They just have a completely different set of expressions-which is why Toothless is perfection to me, he has both the loyalty I'm used to and the cat mannerisms I'm familiar with, LOL

    idk if it matter, but poisonous means if you bite it you could die (tho some snakes I believe are able to absorb poison from the frogs they eat and then they inject it into others as a defensive mechanism) and venomous means if they bite you, you could die, and I was saying "could", cause how venomous something is differs, like hognoses; bees and wasps are venomous, but it's not considered medically significate as unless you have a severe reaction your body can fight it off without little help (epi pens aka adrenaline added etc)

    Great reaction to one of my favorite movies. The animation on this is so good. One question I have for you, where are you from? Accents and linguistics are a bit of a hobby of mine, and I’ve been trying to place your accent but can’t quite nail it down. I’m kinda torn between two possibilities. My best guess would be eastern Austria but I’m not entirely sure on that front. There’s a Germanic tilt to your accent but the consonants are softer than what I’m used to hearing. My second guess would be Finnish. The way you pronounce your vowels has a bit of northern flare but not quite Scandinavian and a lot of Finns I’ve heard seem to have a similar English accent when they speak English. Anyhoo… loved your reaction and I will definitely be checking out more of your videos, and sorry if my question came across as impertinent. It comes from a genuine curiosity and love of the subject. ;)

    15:49 well actually bright coloured animals are just bright rather to be 1: look pretty 2 : make predators feel scared because they might think they are poisonous (when they're actually not 3: they actually are dangerous/ venomous one of the great examples of this is poisonous dart frogs (witch should be corrected to venomous dart frogs but I'm not the scientist here)

    re poisonous vs venomous: the easiest way is to think about it in the context of the human animal ↝ humans are not venomous, but they can get poisoned ↝ venom is when toxins are injected via bites and other delivery methods, while poison is the toxins released after eating them. so as you said, venom is transfered through injection while poison is ingested through the GI tract. (parts of biology is inherently abstract and have little commutable logic that would allow for a more efficient system than memorizing. it's inevitable. biology is like a language with a lot of exceptions and special rules. so creating meaningful, but logical analogies and mnemonics is key. like not just any analogy. an analogy that simplifies the concept enough that's not reductive but it eliminates the fluff. like I know heroin the drug doesn't have an "e" cz in biochemistry the word "vitamin" comes from "vital amines", so it's suppose to be "vitamine" but the "e" is committed as it evolved in the vernacular. so "heroin" is the drug cz it's missing the "e" too. I took a concept that's a both biochemical parameter, as well being a nomenclature rule and extrapolated its logic and applied to the spelling for science instead of the character archetype "heroine".)

    15:54 both poisonous AND venomous creatures can be brightly colored. but what you are talking about is warning colors which are seen on poisonous creatures definitions of poisonous versus venomous: venom - toxin is injected; offensive poison - toxin is ingested or absorbed; defensive here are some examples venomous - pit viper brightly colored to blend in with colorful flowers of their preys' food poisonous - monarch & poison dart frog brightly colored to act as a warning that they are not good to eat

    I always thought the wings ripping was from the fire inside the dragon- but No- its wings were quite literally tearing from the wind cutting into them because it was diving at such a high speed, and so close to the ground, that it literally couldnt stop fast enough- and because of its weight, the wind tore the wings, rather than the dragon slowing down. Bruh.
