I wish she went more in depth about her transition from Buddhism to Islam and how Buddhism is atheistic. I pondered this a lot myself. It's a peaceful outlook but always feel like something is missing.

Buddhism was not a religion it was a philosophy but then later when Buddhism got over the other part of the world and after Gautama Buddha died his disciples start to worship him and made Buddhism as a religion. Same like Confucianism at first. In early teaching of buddha not a single one of his teaching taught about GOD or the nature of GOD or anything related to GOD. He was preaching about world problem and used his philosophy as a basis to solve the problem in his community of Hindus. It's only started became a religion after it got to central Asia and East Asia. it was in central Asia who have a deep root of Indo-Greek Hellenic Pagans tradition that mixed Buddhism with Indo-Greek Afghan paganism and made it as a religion. Yes Afghanistan used to be a Greek city state with Greek pagan religion, it was conquered by Alexander the great. It was the Afghan Buddhist of Bamiyan who started building Buddha statues and spread it to China later.

Eternal Passenger: in 6:19 I am utterly surprised that they changed the subject right in the best moment (when she met her colleague at work who was a Japanese revert) she did not complete what happen, it must have been the best part of any revert story , which is the 3 or 4 points that they heard that draw them more to islam.. she said she met her at work and nothing happen!! the subject was changed.. I watched the story of sister Amanda in perhaps 2 other YT channels. I saw it many times. I can tell that this one is heavily edited and many important parts of her rich experience was trimmed/edited. Her encounter with the Sudanese family that made her read about Islam to disprove it, her hasty marriage and divorce, her learning and teaching Quran recitation, her work with new reverts .... all that was left out.

So, there's a bunch of editing in this piece. We don't have continuation between the interviewer and the speaker. Very poorly represented or explained. Forming your impression of any religion from a single instance like she did for christianity is pretty dishonest. There was no expression of investigating islam, its history, or its claims. It's all just feelings, and I'm pretty sure the quran says to study it so you can come to islam without compulsion. No evidence of that here. People have had feelings in the past too, that doesn't make them true.

Dear revert brother/sister in Imaan, I am very glad that you have recognised the truth God has revealed in the Quran and couldn't resist Islam. I am your brother all the way from India. I am a revert Muslim too. I hope and pray my advice helps you in your journey with God, and to God. I would like to advise you to take your deen primarily from the Quran and become more Quran-centric in your understanding of Islam. While you may need to turn to Hadith to fulfill the obligations set by Allah such as Salah (Daily prayers), fasting, Hajj, charity, and moral goodness but not rely on it blindly when it tries to push Arabian culture as Islam, create a narrow sectarian mindset, and tries to demonise the character of the nobleProphet (Pbuh) or when it clearly contradicts the Quran in at least 20 different matters. Therefore, for believers of sound intellect who like to think deeply and not follow the clergy obsessed cults blindly, there are many aspects of Hadiths which appear quite spurious and even in direct contradiction with the Quran. You need to be particularly careful when certain stories found in the Hadith collection (compiled more than 200 years after the Prophet but considered very holy and unquestionable by sectarian clergy ulema), portray the Prophet’s (pbuh) noble character in very poor light. I would advise you to not believe everything blindly because Muslims make you believe in those spurious stories with a lot of zeal, which they have been made to believe through years of institutionalised sectarian indoctrination. I would advise you to exercise caution when exploring the Hadith canon. But the Quran being God’s final revelation is fully protected from human corruption. However, while the other secondary sources of Islamic knowledge may contain some prophetic truth within it, but do not believe everything which Muslims have been made to believe through these books saying certain books are as pure as the Quran. Do bear in mind that Muslims are good people and are very sincere in what they believe about the Hadiths. So it's ok to avoid disagreements when it comes to issues which emerge from certain problematic Hadeeths. Even early Islamic history seems highly distorted due to these man-made ‘holy’ books and this understanding of Islam by new Muslims does create many problems for the Muslim community around the world. I pray Allah always guides you to HIS WAY, and not some sectarian way, made up by people after the Prophet left this world and that Allah keeps you protected from satanic deceptions in matters of faith. Ameen. In my 15 years experience, most Muslims are very Hadith-centric and expect reverts to follow Islam which is predominantly from Hadeeths and not the Quran. Most Muslims are only aware of the beautiful side of hadeeth corpus but are generally kept unaware of the problematic side so if if you blindly follow things which are not from the Quran, you may end up making all kinds of enemies for yourself especially your own family will find you very problematic. But it's not the case when you're more Quran centric in your understanding and practice of Islam.
