"I Think We Have a Problem" & Helpers to the Rescue, on BEAUMONT HILL!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

So I heard on the radio, a Westbound reported that this train in the video had a DPU that was not loading. They were going about 10mph all the way through San Timoteo Canyon.
Seen here passing MP555 on the Yuma Sub, about 8 miles from the top! They were struggling, but still moving, with that one unit down on the rear. When the DPU's come buy you can hear the EMD loading, but the GE is not!
The train had about 105 cars and they had a lot of heavy Tankers full of Gasoline and Diesel Fuel. I believe they were headed for El Centro, CA.
Then the helpers were rolling right behind them. You can hear some radio conversations between the train, dispatcher and locomotive help desk.
Enjoy this one, climbing the grade!
Thanks for watching!

Maybe if they weren't pulling so many cars with FLAT WHEELS it wouldn't be so bad! That train is beating that track to pieces.

Flat spots don’t make a difference on railcars, they just make more noise

The wheel is always round it's just the inside area where the flat spot is.

That's why addition d.p.u.s. is highly needed if the train is going to be very long especially going through the mountains! 😮

Seems like they should have had the remote control helpers in the middle of the train, with the manned helpers on the rear of the train. Southern Pacific would have done that. 😉

Railroads are out to save money for profits to the big boys, but what they don't realize that the longer and heavier the trains the more damage is done to the tracks over time. They need to make it a requirement that all trains be no longer than 50-75 carsong and run more trains paying for more engineers that run them then there would be less damages to the rails and less accidents. There is no need to have Mike long or longer trains running in the mountains states at any one time, both going up and coming down those mountain grades of over 1% period 😠😠👎👎
