Dandelion was my favorite Crayola Crayon as a kid. It’s a shame they discontinued it because it’s so much better than a blue that looks like one of the other blues that come in the pack.

Rae made a good point; there are SO MANY other blues, why add another one? Now we're stuck with two yellows: the basic yellow and ugly yellow. Dandelion NEEDS to come back. It was such a warm and beautiful color. And the name is just fun to say.

I had those rainbow brush pens as a kid and I loved them! I used them until ran out of ink. They definitely blended for me (my parents kept some of the stuff I drew with) and I don't remember them being so hard to use. I think Bluetiful is Crayola's version of YInMn blue, so it's not quite "just ultramarine blue". I definitely agree that they should have replaced a blue or possibly one of the reds as those seem to be the two most plentiful in the 24 pack. Even if they had just replaced the color in the 24 pack, retiring Dandelion altogether was a big mistake, it's such a unique yellow!

Crayons don't get moldy. What you are seeing is wax bloom. Yes, the same wax bloom you sometimes find on wax-based colored pencils. It's just the binder separating from the wax, rising to the surface & crystalizing. It occurs most frequently when crayons or colored pencils are either old or low quality. You can scrape it right off & can rest assured that it is not mold. 😉

I bought the ink and sponge kit back from Posh Impressions when it was popular. Also had a few other ink sets from Posh as well. This year during one of my inventories of the craft room I found it again, but the sponge was not in good shape (I had used it a few times 20 years ago), so while the inks are still good, I had to toss the sponge. Too bad, that dense sponge was pretty magical!

Rae Now: I don't know why Crayola got rid of this beautiful, red-orangey golden Dandelion tone, it was so pretty! Rae then 2 years ago from the Yimin Blue Ep: Crayola got rid of their Dandelion color to replace it with blue and I personally never was a big fan of it anyways. Goodbye, Irene! ASDFGHJKL THATS CHARACTER GROWTH RIGHT HERE XD

As someone who used these crystal markers, they were very fun and really cool as a little kid to draw on my window with them (pretty sure I still have some on my window I was too lazy to wash off LMAO)
