I switched to Visible Wireless Network from Verizon ~ My Experience & 2 Things You Must Know

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I recently switched to the Visible Wireless Network from Verizon to save money. I have been with Verizon since forever. I always wanted to be with Verizon because I felt like they had the best network. After hearing and researching the Visible Wireless Network, I learned that Visible is owned by Verizon and uses the Verizon Network for a much lower monthly cost. I've been on the Visible Network for almost 2 weeks now and I'm happy with the service. My phone bill with Visible Wireless is currently $40 per month. When I add my wife to the Visible Party Plan, I expect our phone bill to go to $35 each per month. My current phone bill is nearly $200 with Verizon. There are 2 things I mention in the video if you want to know how to transfer to Visible Wireless.
If you would like to support this channel. Here is a link to my Amazon Store. I recommend each product that I have placed in the store. I make a few pennies when you make a purchase and it's much appreciated. www.amazon.com/shop/stevesherron

I also had Verizon and decided to go with Visible about 2 years ago. I also have a camper in a seasonal campground where the WIFI is not reliable and when it is not working I turn on my hot spot and connect everything to Visible through a mini router because my phone is a Android. I only pay 25 dollars a month since I joined the party plan and I am very happy with the service.

We have been using Visible for about 4 years. It’s great. One thing to note… your data speed will be throttled back in high traffic areas and regular Verizon customers will be given priority. Not a deal breaker at all. This happens to those with a low end Verizon plan as well. Just thought someone may need to know.

Thank you...I'm on Verizon and my bill is 160 for 1 line and 1 watch (mind you I own the devices). I have a iPhone X and this makes it simple. I saw the tray, but when I switch over from another iPhone I didn't have to insert a SIM card. So these 2 steps make it better for me to understand as I use my device for work. Thank you I'm switching today.

Steve! This is awesome! I am in the process of doing exactly what you made this video about. My wife and I are long, long time Verizon customers and I want to switch to Visible. They no longer have the party plan, but individual basic plans are $30. So, I can have 2 phones with unlimited everything and only pay $60/month. All taxes and fees included. All of the other videos I watched said I needed the acct no. and pin. Nobody explained that the pin they were referring to was the transfer pin, as Verizon calls it. There is also an account pin which you alluded to. The transfer pin can be generated on the Verizon website and lasts for 7 days I believe. Like you my greatest fear was moving my wife, who works from home and must have phone communication at all times! So, if I do everything correctly, meaning have the acct number, porting pin and physical sim available how long should I expect the calls to that phone number to be unavailable? I can't seem to get a good answer to that question!

  • @SteveSherron

I did all my transfer stuff and I had almost no down time. I'm trying to remember but maybe an hour or so? Once I realized I needed transfer pin, everything moved quickly for me. Since you know you need transfer pin, probably will be quicker for you.

@@SteveSherron Just to follow up I moved my wife without incident. It maybe took 5 minutes for each of us porting our old number over. I forgot to mention the special rate for December signup. If you sign up now you get the first 3 months for $15/month. So, here I am now with everything working as best I can tell and I'm paying $30 for the first 3 months and I get to lock in the rate of $60/month for 2 lines for 5 years. Unlimited everything. No taxes and extra fees! Flat rate. What's not to like?

Steve, I had the same experience. When I entered my PIN number it locked my other carrier's number. I had to wait a total of three days as I locked it twice by using the wrong PIN number. The chat took a great amount of wait time as everyone was switching to a sim-less iPhone 14. In the end, I have my iPhone ($45.00) and iWatch ($5.00) on Visible. At the time of writing this, they have discontinued their party plan but at least I am saving much compared to previous carriers.

What if you’re still paying for your phone on Verizon? Do they make you pay it off first, or can you just move over since they are both Verizon companies? I don’t actually have an installment plan, I’m getting monthly credits on a previous trade-in.

Good to know! Your Verizon bill was probably so high because you were still paying for phones and your plan. When I got a new phone 2 years ago, they had me pay installments for 24 months. My last installment payment is next month. Then I will be out shopping again for replacement phones for hubby and me. Hubby’s camera stopped working when he ran himself over with the truck. The phone was in his pocket. The phone still works though!

No, both our phones were paid off long ago. I never really studied the intricacies of the bill. I just got a text every month saying thanks for paying your bill of $194. I'm pretty sure some extra money was paying for phone insurance though. I don't have that now so if I have damage I'll have to just buy a new phone most likely. I will still come out and buy that old truck and drive it back east.

To generate a portability PIN number I went to Verizon Contact and started a chat. I asked for the portability PIN number. They call it a Number Transfer Pin. Than I had to go through the account verification. After a couple emails and a verification number I got the pin I asked for. It’s good for 7 days. There is no search on Verizon that I could find. But, starting a chat works without actually chatting with customer support. I haven’t decided to go to Visible yet, but I’m thinking about it. Your video is very helpful. Thanks for making the effort.

Every time we are out and I see maybe 2 bars on my phone I ask her how many bars she has? She always has the same amount of bars that I have which tells me I must be on the same network Verizon. I do use the hotspot and it has performed well. No issues.

I need to make a new video. I had a situation occur. The Visible Plan and service were awesome. No trouble whatsoever. I recommend it. This past Christmas I upgraded my phone to the new iPhone 15. I hoped it would be a breeze to convert my new phone to Visible. I ordered my phone from Apple. When it arrived, I followed all the steps in the instructions. It was a no go. All kind of problems and I can't pinpoint if the problem was Apple or Visible. The final message I had on my new phone after failure was it said you need to take this phone to your representative. I had no representative. I literally had to take my phone to Verizon and ask them to put my phone back on Verizon service and help me activate phone. I'm still on Verizon. I guess I could switch back to Visible but at this time I'm not willing to risk another failure. I can't really offer advice, but that's what happened to me. Keep this in mind.

3 questions: 1) where in the Verizon account do you request a PIN number to port your number over? I can’t find this anywhere. 2) once the eSim is completed, does Visible send you a physical Sim to use in your phone? 3) Isn’t there info on the Sim that you want to keep? Great video, I really think I should quit Verizon for this service.

I think I typed in the Verizon search box for a portability pin number and it gave me a page. If your phone has an e-sim, you do not need a physical sim card. My iPhone XS Max had an e-sim. I removed my sim card. I didn't lose any info on my phone by removing the sim card. I'm very happy with the service at this point. I don't have a single complaint. I can't tell any difference.

Visible seems to have fleshed out the new terms of Party Pay. They're important so I'll leave a link for anyone to read in the description Key Notes A: Party Pay remains available to you (switch parties) as long as you stay on Visible Unlimited B: Party Pay functions (mostly) as it did before the misleading locked in Promo (discount depends on 4 active members) C: Visible reserves the right to change the name/details of a party, suppress a party from discovery by other members, and/or dissolve a party, with or without notice to you, for any reason at all, including (but not limited to) if the name is inappropriate, offensive, or derogatory or infringes on the rights of any other person or entity. Any decision to alter or dissolve a party or party’s name/details is at Visible’s sole discretion I personally recommend anyone missing members immediately disband and migrate to the largest Party they can find. Feels like it should be illegal to not notify users of changes like this since it impacts our experience and wallet. I'm not sure when one of my members left, but I haven't received any notifications that it would impact my bill nor have I received notifications about the update to Party Pay Terms and Agreements Pass it on!! Help your fellow Party Pay members out! www.visible.com/legal/supplemental-terms/
