Lesson learned from her story, is be friendly to your neighbors at least get to know each other for times like this. Let's leave living in island and bring back the Ubuntu spirit
The way Nomthi reacted while she was in danger is so impressive, her mind is SHARP!! She is so quick on her feet, half the things she did I wouldn’t even think to do, I’d be so scared. Just hearing the story is giving me chills
Relebogile honestly deserves an award. I love how comfortable she makes her guests feel and how she handles each interview with such grace and respect. 🥺🙏🏼❤

I’m mid-way watching and have to pause to applaud this lady for acknowledging how Relebogile has created a safe space for her to speak freely. And isn’t that just what she does always? Ever giving an ear- no judgement, just holding space for any guest to share their story…? This is in your purpose and we can all attest to it Relebogile ❤️
This sounds so scary. A worst nightmare 😭😭😭😭. Nomthi speaks so well.
I love how she’s telling her story , i pictured every thing I usually listen to stories here without actually watching but i had to sit down for this one 🥺
She's so intelligent, brave & strong. Her words make you travel through her mind. Amazing story telling ❤️
She’s a perfect narrator 😭 I literally pictured everything. Yoh. Her strength is impeccable - God was on her side
Nomthi was able to articulate her story so well. I cannot wait for part 2. Glad there were people who came to her rescue.

The South African Police Service is failing our country. How can they be so inefficient and negligent!! Their actions, or lack thereof, are literally what stands in between life and death for someone! Nomthi is so brave and strong for coming out of that horrific situation!

I don’t live in Africa I live in the US when you all speak of South Africa, is that a name of a country or are y’all referring to South Africa, as in north, east, west, south?
this interview has left me speechless. what a strong woman. Glad you are safe Nomthi
I understand where she’s coming from because I’m a Spaniard🇪🇸 living in South Africa 🇿🇦 and at the time I was living in a gated private apartment complex in Johannesburg and 5 men were trying to get into my SUV with my 2 children were in with me and I called the police but at the time I only spoke Spanish and Afrikaans so they couldn’t understand me so I had my son tell them and the woman told my son that they have more serious things to attend to and hung up. So my father instincts kicked in and I told my child to lie down on the floor and cover their ears and I had no choice but to run the men over with my SUV, sadly I killed 3 of them but the other two were arrested but later released so I wouldn’t be surprised that the men who attacked her were the two I hit with my car☹️

our police bakith, i have no trust on them whatsoever, even if am introuble they are the last people I think of for help
I'm not sure what I would have done if i was in her shoes, I mean you see a man hiding in your garage. Your body will definitely go into shock. Nomthi you're brave sis, you fought back🙌.
I'm literally crying 😭😭😭 because you know very well it can happen to anyone. The pain people are putting us through is beyond for the purpose of money. Money doesn't make anyone happy. I understand her very well if she said your mind goes back to child like phase. I was reading a What happened to you by Dr Perry and Oprah. Dr says when you in the panick your front brain which is fast to think lock itself, your back brain which has all your memories and childhood experiences its operate so the only you can act is through the time you were younger because back brain only remember long term memories. Yooooo this is traumatizing.
I thank God for the protection He bestowed upon Nomthi and for the strength she endowed her with to share the traumatic experience she went through. Thanks to Relebogile for creating that safe space. May we emulate the neighbours example and unite to fight against crime.
I just cried, we live in a country where self defense classes are a need and not an option. I'm glad she got away safely

Shooo! SA is the pits! I'll never forget how those police were so chilled while I was sitting there all bloody with a broken nose bridge saying "those thugs are now doing this at the same spot everyday". It's every woman for herself in this country. I will survive or die fighting. You are very strong Nomthi 💟💟💟
Nomthi is a fighter! Can't wait for part 2
For once Relebogile didn't have to sweat during an interview, and because she is a pro, she was cruising. GREAT guest!!!!
Nomthi speaks so well. She is so articulate. You can tell she's a communication specialist.
everything starts spiritually first hence the feeling.
Is she a communication specialist or public speaker? She narrates her ordeal so well, not everyone can have such strength

She is very brave. Got me in tear as I relived my own experience and I had to just give them everything they threaten my so (he was 4 months at the time). I still cant leave the house until I get to hear familiar voices or its daylight.
I could listen to her speak all day, so articulate ♥️
This episode triggered me, I also experienced the bad side of living in SA on the 19th of July 2019 till this day I'm still asking myself why would God allow such😭

Our police system continues to fail us and it hurts shame yho💔😪
I would not have even thought of half of mechanisms she resorted to. The fact that she inflicted some kind of pain on that man is pleasing me all the way through. I can't stop replaying the part where she said she locked her jaws. I wish you healing Nomthi!
Nomthi has beautiful english, more than the owners of the language. She is brave, so brave. God is great. Either the intruder had no gun or is a proffessional. Either way.. this is an extra ordinary story. I would've been cold as in dead cold.

My goodness!!! Am so envious of her vocabulary!!!
She's so eloquent, I could listen to her ALL DAY.
I am sitting watching this, and shaking because I can literally picture myself in her shoes, because of that I started crying. I could feel her fear, her pain, her bravery and anger, to say I am proud of Nomthi is an under statement, God was with you!!! It was not your time, not today, not today!!!
This lady is very strong yhoo Thank God you survived...can't wait for part2...and Relebogile is just an OG!
I worked with Nomthi at Golder Associates she hasn't changed!!!!......During those days she had only a Junior Degree........today she has an MBA!!!!.....Well brained, works phenomenally and inherently cemented with utmost strength but also has a very pleasant other side when she's relaxed and ohMyGod Nomthi can smile😂😂...... May the Lord Be With You!!!!.....Keep climbing ladders Nomthi!!!❤
The Lord did not say he will prevent the fire from happening, he said he will protect you and be the forth man in the fire.🙌🙌❤

Thank God for your safety and wishing you total recovery emotionally

I can't tell you how brave this woman is!
What a brave woman!God bless you
You are so strong and brave nomtee, I am a bit disappointed in the two neighbors you called :( I am so sorry baby girl. I am also proud of you for the will to fight back
Sad to hear about your story Nomthi. Also sad about today's lifestyle that neighbors don't assist one another in the complexes and estates. When I was young our house got burned when we (my brother and I) were sleeping. We were saved by neighbors as my parents were still at work. Being a mother now in my 50s, last year I came back from jogging around 7pm. To my shock at the entrance i saw a big snake and I sent a text to our estate what's group but no one came to assist.
Wow Nomthi you are strong, this is so impressive.

Wow🙆♂️🙆♂️I literally had goosebumbs as she narrated. Am so sorry for what you went through, but you are extremely brave. I dont even know what i could have done, but your brain was working like a robot. My God, after watching her and listening her story i asked myself the same questiion what do i carry in my bag or car🤔🤔 Getting attacked in your own privacy, in a surburb🙈🙈 Is this what we signed for🤔🤔. Wishing you HUGS 🤗🤗and HEALING and thank God for sending a guardian angel to strengthen you. I think i could have opened the house immediately leave them there and run away to call for help. Wow🥺 I dont even know my neighbours neither do i have anyones numbers in my complex. Lessins and TIPs to learn📝✍ Does 911 work📞📞

Plus in USA they pick up your address, you don't even need to tell them. We need upgrade our system. We feel unsafe all the time.
Crime in our country is an epidemic to the point where we comfortably say "a home invasion is normal". It is a sad state of affairs. We have accepted our fate. We pay taxes and still have to pay exorbitant amounts to stay "relatively safe" in our own homes. Our police take an oath to serve and protect but they can't even answer the phone! Ke mathata!
Yoh I need part 2 What a brave lady.
