I knew all of the elements of the story, but I had never heard the story of Troy told from beginning to end like that. This was fantastic!

I look forward to hearing your review of Troy. I have a friend who read classics and it was her bitter complaining about the film, (which I have never seen) that reignited my love of classics. Whenever I buy a new book for the classics bookshelf I always blame her.

The film Troy so badly messed about with the original story, Achilles surviving and killing Agamemnon during the fall of Troy etc. that I wondered why they made it at all. If they didn't want to use any version of the original Greek stories, why pretend to tell the story of Troy at all and annoy those already familiar with it? Why not just make up an original story with original characters and setting so they can do what they like with it?

God I love the pettiness of Greek gods

I always found this story interesting and thank you for elaborating the details for a novice like me. For some reason, I would try and draw parallels between Trojan war and Ramayana. Hope you could discuss this in a future video.
