Really good tips. It's funny that most of the time, the hardest problems faced in a company are with communicating and getting alignment. Engineering the solution is almost always the easy part and I wish I knew this sooner 😅

I went into engineering because I didn't want to talk to people, and quickly realized that the only way to do my job is through communication (as a Network Support Engineer). Now I make a living by communicating with people as a Sales Engineer. Great tips all around!

What a good topic! Without communication you limit so much growth. Even with other engineers. Thank you for sharing these this.

great video; it's not just unstructured advice, it resembles a loose framework anyone can build off of. In the hello example, you touched upon the irritation this causes and the reason. This really gets to the heart of communication, it's hard sharing your brain with others and making it easy + pleasant for others is super important because we are not computers.

regarding the code review and ending every point with a question mark. since you aren't stating that there is a bug, what do you do if the other person (junior or someone not senior) ignores it still? do you then follow up with "are you sure?"? ;)

I'd state my concern or feedback without a question mark, e.g. "I think this will lead to a crash in the case where we get invalid input from a lower layer. Curious if you've thought about that?" So it's clear that you have a concern, but the question mark is about how to handle resolution.
