i wish there was some way for sims who've had stuff stolen to acknowledge it. maybe an interaction or moodlet, or even if stolen items just showed up as a bubble above their head when sleeping. would be so funny if after having all her things stolen eliza would walk around and "ask about missing object" or "discuss local crime" or something with other sims!

You should do a “Rag to Riches Squatter edition”. This is the perfect opportunity to live in other people’s houses and sell their stuff to get money lol

It's so fun how they add in community references, like I would not have expected the reddit post to make it into the game

I almost spit my drink out when he said "This is the best house I've ever built!" The ridiculousness of it all is fantastic!

My guess for the downstairs items not being stealable is that when you added them as part of the shared space area, the game flagged the items as not stealable. I think the code was just missing the ability to set those items back to stealable when they were moved to a unit or the area they were in was changed to a unit. It's probably a bug. As far as clearing the steal buff, you can only do that with realm of magic potions of emotional stability. If you also have the burgliate spell, you can steal a wider variety of items. It's a shame that more options for stealing aren't available without realm of magic.

I gotta say that I think it's pretty cool we get to steal certain items only with magic, and that is because it gives more unique gameplay to spellcasters that isn't there for regular sims (muggles, if you will). In fact, I wish we had more interactions that are unique to spellcasters, like making frogs rain and whatnot. But that's a discussion for another time.

@@lagritsalammas it's just that the klepto trait is base game and spell casters are a paid pack. I think originally kleptos and spell casters were meant to have the same ability to steal, but EA patched it so that some items couldn't be stolen due to NPC kleptos taking things and people complaining. They forgot to patch the spell casters. The caster has the ability to steal much more frequently though because of the potion and they can just duplicate the potion. For as long as they can avoid overcharge, they can just keep stealing. That's powerful enough. They can also earn the ability to steal from another room and not ever get caught.

I think he probably needed to reboot the game completely after changing it from being a shared area.

Steal all their stuff, then throw a housewarming party and invite them over 😂

The loading screens are the reason I'm not getting this pack right now. Think I'll wait until the modding community opens it up(if they can)and if they can't I won't bother lol

@@SamS018 They can't. As TwistedMexi has said, the loading screens being where they are is a requirement set by the game engine. Unless your game runs slow (which if it does that's fair) the loading screens shouldn't be that big of a deal. Most of the loading in Sims 4 isn't that bad time wise so long as you haven't gone overboard with mods/CC.

@katrinagraham7615 this pack just isn't compatible with the way I play my saves. If I'm playing on a lot with a bunch of different sims it's because I want to be playing with those sims. Not just having a shared space and constantly switching back and forth between households. It's a little thing that I would find very aggravating in the long term. I'd rather dump all my sims onto a lot and using mods to increase household size have control of them and be able to use all their individual spaces at the same time. It's just the way I prefer it.

If you do end up doing this again with all the packs, make sure you're a spellcaster. You can use the spell Burglarate to steal items. If the issue with 1st floor persists, you could try setting that back to shared space, and using the Long Reach trait to allow you to steal from a distance. Then you can steal without breaking in, and without risking getting caught.

With the mod Ui Cheats Extension, one can delete that cooldown Moodlet, so I’m really looking forward to realizing my role as the town burglar NPC.

I have a vendetta against the Landgraabs..... Lol. The Landgraabs are just too rich for no reason so I make it my personal mission to help them be less rich.... And the last 2 lotteries I had come up on my calendar they won rofl. Geoffrey won the 1st one and then Nancy the next one.... So I definitely have a klepto sim coming up in my current generation....

imagine Semaj trying to lug that sofa along the side of the house, quickly and inconspicuously, as Bob walks down the sidewalk on his way home the neighbors just watching and being very confused 😂

I love how every simmer has at least one sim that they have a vendetta against and I especially love that it’s usually the pancakes

I think semaj should live in an apartment complex, get a bunch of stuff from the neighbors and sell at the night market

James, you can cheat the emotions and choose "Fine" and every time-related emotion disappears. This is helpful for the cave as well when you have to wait 8 hours to enter it again

As a builder, Have you considered a series where you update the base game Houses and community lots with items from the expansions? Just like was done before Kids Room Stuff came out.

At one point I'd love to see you play a challenge where you cannot buy anything other than walls/windows. You have to survive off of stealing, dumpster diving, transforming objects, maybe wood working etc. You should be able to get everything you need from these means. 😊

Now hold a yard sale and sell all their furniture - hopefully they will buy some back ready for you to steal again!

with burgliate, i was able to steal toilets. Loved how that was a possibility.

One of my sims is a kleptomaniac witch who steals from her clients when performing exorcism on their haunted house. Couldn’t steal furnitures until she learned the burglariate spell. After that, she was a menace!

He could also use Dream Home Decorator, to "steal" items that are typically inaccessible.

To get rid of "recently swiped an item" moodlet, you can do testing cheats true, then right click the moodlet to make it remove

You can definatly steal from the downstairs area in the Pancakes house, I've done it many times before. I know you are able to steal at least the lamps, it might just be a bug with the breaking in feature in for rent.

The door glitch has been in the game for months. It’s in all apartments and dorms. I’m literally astounded that they’ve released this pack without fixing it.

I was really inspired by this gameplay so I tried it on my own -- I think that the first shared, later privatized lower floor was why you couldn't steal from it. I am currently playing rags to riches with the klepto, nosy and freegan trait to get free furniture to hopefully fill my rented (and later rent out spaces haha)
