"Hi my name is Joseph and I choreographed to “still talk to Jesus” by LANY. This song expresses the serious and emotional aspects of spiritual life. I want to highlight the lyrics: “I lie to my mama, smoke marijuana most of the time I do what I wanna you might not believe it, but I still talk to Jesus.” Throughout the song, the lyrics express the sinful nature of humans and how that leads to doubting one’s worth. I want to preface by saying I am not judging anyone nor wishing to make anyone feel bad about themselves. Instead, I want to emphasize the redemptive quality of being a Christ follower. It doesn’t matter if you lied to someone, hurt someone, cheated on someone, etc. because the Christian Jesus is a Jesus that overlooks all mistakes and accepts us at whatever stages we are in our lives. If you’re Christian, I hope you know that Jesus is always open to talking, and if you’re not, I hope you know that the people around you will always support you. Hope you enjoy."
