Wel put it this way, My Hero is a very kiddy, very poorly written show that occasionally does something exceptionally well haha. The poorly done cliches and huge cast of useless characters is painful. But if you can look past that, it’s a fun and emotional show with little gold and diamond nuggets hidden in it (mainly in the later seasons).

You realize the entire shonen genre is about young, high school age (usually) males, so the cast of characters involved would naturally be underaged? It's has it own flaw, and there's things that can be better but overall, it really good show and is precious anime for me. People who keep complaining that this is kid show, i'm like ??? hmmm ?? Are really ? The show have deep layering message that really2 make u ponder upon it. It's really emotional driven show, with few exceptions of flaw bcuz be real, every show and story have their own flaw. But yeah, people can have their own opinion, just countinue to watch the anime and form your own opinion, whether this show is really up to your standard or not. There's reason why so many people obsessed with the show, and yeah those who hate and undermine the show generally were either stumble upon the disgusting thingy of fandom or they just can't vibe and hv low level of empathy for the show. Sometimes those haters also one of the people who just disappointed with the direction that didn't suit with what they watch and read from mha.Just what i see.

This show is really amazing when you don’t have 1000 people trying to tell you “it’s ass”

I've heard how toxic the fanbase is but have never actually experienced it lmao. That's why for me personally it's best to not engage too deeply with any particular fandom, especially since I'm exclusively an anime watcher, it's the best way to not get spoiled by manga readers anyway lol

I don't understand honestly, i really don't. Sure it has it's ups and downs, but i hadn't find a single reason to HATE anything about the anime Don't think wrong about me just because i have a baby uraraka pic. I just think it's very cute and i didn't had a better idea, i'm nowhere near a fanboy just because of that

Basically My Hero is very popular so a lot of people watched it and continue to watch it because it's a big name despite the fact that it's clearly not for them and don't seem to realize they can just....quit. And let the rest of us enjoy our lives lmao. There is a reason this show is such a big deal. It's emotional and poignant. Optimistic but realistic. Nuanced. Everything it does is purposeful, even the things you'd never expect. Legendary musical score. Some of the most captivating, rewarding, and masterfully written character arcs I've ever seen in my life. And a shockingly realistic take on what would happen if humans developed superpowers. Absolutely one of the most fascinating stories I've ever experienced.

Don't forget the art - where far too many of the author's contemporaries have every character look the same except for hair and clothes, this show has otherwise "normal" characters look vastly different. Perfect example? Both Mirio Togata and Denki Kaminari are "normal human" in appearance with blonde hair, but you could be forgiven for mistaking them from being from different shows. Heck, within 1-A, every single character has different looking eyes. How many anime out there can you identify a character only by their eyes?

Seeing someone watch My Hero Academia for the first time is so fucking fun, this is one of my obsession anime so this makes me so happy. I also love that you're watching the english sub, because as much as I love the english voice actors, the Japanese just has a charm to me (tho i'm also studying japanese so that helps)

It’s not that Izuku’s family’s quirks have dwindled, more often than not he would’ve inherited fire breathing, attracting objects, or a combination of the two like the doctor said. The fact that both his parents had abilities and he doesn’t is a quirk (figuratively), and unfortunately it singles him out in this extraordinary society. It’s like the opposite of X-Men

in fact there is a thing called the quark singularity theory. as time has gone each successive generation in general has gotten more powerful and complicated quirks. a lot of experts in world are worried that eventually at the rate this is happening humans won't be able to control these complicated powerful quirks after a few more generations. initially there were much fewer quirks but by the time the events of the show happen almost 90% have them

This show was top tier, and got tons of praise from all angles for years. Then, at some point, a bunch of people decided they hated it now. Maybe Covid caused a long gap between seasons, and they never forgave the show for that gap? I've never understood why so many hate on the series. The only criticisms I hear are "It had so much potential, but it wasted it" which seems like an odd criticism for a series that isn't finished yet. How would they know? The series is a wonderful series. I don't know what the haters are smoking. It's my favorite modern series, and am always elated to see new people discovering it and growing to love it.

The doc wasn't saying that the Quirks had faded in the family, he was saying that Midoriya should have demonstrated either one of his parent's Quirks, or a combination of them. Quirks actually have a tendency to get stronger over generations

The timing of this is perfect. It's been a frustrating run with their studio taking SO LONG between seasons. I think it's close enough to the end now that you will be able to react to the entire show without any big delays. This is going to be a fun ride!

This is the show that brought me back into anime.

to me, the only negative point that i can think of in that anime, is the quantity of flashbacks there is some episodes that loose 40-50% of their length in flashbacks about the previous or two episode before specifically in the 4th season but beside that i seriously love that anime

There isn’t anything special that makes villains villains, they are just people who are using their powers for “evil” for whatever motivation they might have, Kamui was just playing up the theatrics, this villain was just a common thief who panicked and used their quirk to try and get away with it

My hero is an amazing show with a very good power system very interesting and badass character both on good and bad side, people are hating just for the fan base, don't listen it will be an awesome ride

Small correction. The villains don't turn or mutate, that is just their quirks. Pursenapper was always able to turn bigger and the slime villain was always that way do to his quirk. If you use your quirk to do crime and cause distruction, your a villain.

DUDE I’ve been waiting so long for this, as a fan of both Naruto and My Hero I really hope you enjoy it! What’s interesting is that there are a lot of overlap and connections between both shows but I won’t spoil it, you’ll just have to see for yourself!

I'm going preface this comment by saying I watched this show weekly when S1 aired and read the manga weekly ever since then. The "MHA Hate" is very misplaced. The most vocal hater groups are people getting mad over fictional ships being "non-canon" and people getting mad over having ships entirely about a *fictional* show about teenagers. Both of these hater groups are stupid people complaining about stupid things. MHA does have actual problems with it. The author was at some point clearly writing MHA with a goal of making it his One Piece or any of the 700+ chapter mangas. Then he regretted that decision and wanted to just be done with it and move on. Then AGAIN his inspiration sparked and he found motivation to continue. The end product is a story that starts slow and builds the world taking it's time. Then suddenly we are at the final battle and that final battle takes 2,5 years in chapters because there are 50 storylines that didn't have time to bake in the oven and now have to be tied together in one continuous sequence. It doesn't really bother a first time viewer that can just marathon the whole thing almost completely but the weekly reading the manga and to an extend watching the anime has really been like dying a slow death. /rant

What you said in the beginning about creating your own opinion of the show was a thing of beauty! I'm confident that you'll love my hero academia. I'm just curious of who's going to be your favorite character. This series has many ova's and currently three movies with a fourth one coming out next month in Japan and will be release in American theaters on October 11th.
