I was in 5th grade and felt like I was drowning when my parents didn't understand what I was going through, she really made me feel like I was heard and made a huge impact on me. Mayes was my substitute math teacher in 7th grade while the math teacher I had was on maternity leave. he was actually very helpful from what I remember because I struggle in math, and he helped me out. I knew he was a musician, but I was gone by the time that incident with the music video happened. that time period was so chaotic to the point I ended up switching to independent study in November of 2017. I had a science teacher during that time that made me realize I couldn't do regular school anymore because every time I would be trying to wait for the science teacher to give the assignment the science teacher and the other students would be goofing off and I felt like an outcast because I was one of the only people paying attention, also I was the oldest in the class at this point because I had repeated the 6th grade the year prior because during my first year I was in 6th grade the 2015-2016 school year I had missed a ton of school due to illness and the school didn't care I tried asking for assignments to be given on days I was sick but they refused I even would go during lunch and afterschool if I could the days i was there to make up for tests and assignments but in the end my efforts didn't work out and I repeated the 6th grade in 2016-2017. so, by this point when I was in school, I was 14 in 7th grade and the other students were 10/11 because a lot of them skipped grades. the science teacher would like to take me out of the class towards the last 5 minutes of class and tell me "You have to get out of here" "you are to excelled for this school" in those moments I didn't know what to say I just remember feeling extremely uncomfortable. in the end combined with the fact the science teacher ended up getting fired I finally couldn't take it anymore switched to independent study. I am currently 19 and in my fourth year of high school and I'm happy that time period of my life is over, in the end what happened in the past happened I can't change it I just have to keep moving forward.

And I can guarantee that for most students, it really isn't anything personal. We're made to get up so early, attend a school with people we either don't like or fucking hate, learn subjects we don't want to learn, and then some teachers are just god awful to their students. not to mention home lives, social lives, everything. Sometimes it's because of underlying health issues, like insomnia or stress disorders. it may not excuse the behaviours, but i hope it can help explain some of them.

I remember that I had a substitute teacher. (I'm in the seventh grade) The teacher apparently didn't like middle schoolers because she was a high school teacher and liked older kids. I am always kind and respectful to people because they deserve it. I was not any different to this teacher. Anyways, the day that she was subbing, we had a test grade and we all got our notes out to do it. The day before, our teacher had given us permission to do this. The sub thought that we were cheating, so she got very upset at us as a class. We told her we were allowed to get our notes out. (She didn't believe us) My classmates said "Just ask Evan, he'll tell you the truth!" (I am Evan) I told her we could use the notes and she told me straight to my face that I am not worthy of her trust and no child is and ever will be. That hurt. So I got my friends mom, who was also a teacher in that grade and asked her to text our original teacher to confirm that we could use our notes. She said yes. AND IN FRONT OF THE SUB, MY FRIEND'S MOM SAID "EVAN WAS RIGHT!" hehehe. Lol. But I forgive her!

I despised the teacher because she didn't seem like she genuinely cared for the students and wasnt as helpful as she could've been. She was also wasn't very flexible and had a fake ass smile every damn day. Anyways, I never had a substitute for her class. She tortured herself and us by being there :^)

Hana Banana Oh stop with that load of crap. “BLM” has no meaning other than riots and to defund the police. I’m not racist so don’t call me that either. I just don’t support the organization. Black lives only matter when a white person is involved with a black person (negatively). If a black person dies from a white person, everyone is ranting saying it was racism EVEN though, the crime wasn’t racial, but you never hear about the black on white violence or black on black violence either huh? Black people get killed MORE of there OWN COMMUNITY than racism. Everyone is dead silent when a white person dies from a racist black, but if it’s a black person dying you need to burn down stores and run on roads playing the victim. You know why? Because apparently, “a person of color can’t be racist”. It’s impossible. Plus, of “white privilege”. If your gonna support something, at least be informed.

@@strawberryplays8860 :/ you're obviously don't know what rascist mean or how its applied to people. The correct word is PREJUDICE. You sure are one to talk about not being informed. Black lives matter is saying black lives matter its quite simple. Just because some people use it as justification for bad things doesn't mean anything. That's like saying people use islam as an excuse for terrorism but that doesn't mean that muslims are all terrorists or islam is a terrorist organization and if you said it was it'd be racist and i think you can see why. So just bring that over to blm (minus the not agreeing being racist) and its basically the same concept.

  • @strawberryplays8860

Hana Banana You’d think it’s simple right? I also never said that ALL protest are riots. I was just implying that most of the protest are riots. Also I heard some news that “BLM” is a demonic cult, but I’m not sure if that’s true or not. But honestly, black people are trying to play the victim of everything (NOT ALL BLACK PEOPLE JUST SOME!) “Hah your dumb”. “OH IS IT BECAUSE IM BLACK? RACIST!”. I got called racist in a scenario like that and so many other whites. I got called racist because I didn’t respond to a person of color since I couldn’t hear them. The only thing “BLM” has done is drag white people down making it look like whites are the enemy.

I am from Germany and where I come from we don't have any substitute teachers. I never even knew that that concept existed until I saw videos about it on yt. At my school we just have this 'Substitution-plan' where teachers and students can see if they have any substitutes or free hours that day. Basically we just have teachers and that's it. If a teacher is missing, another teacher has take their place and sacrifice their free hour to substitute for that class.

I was in a really difficult world history class that had a HUGE final where we'd have to draw a map of the world FROM MEMORY, not even labeling a blank atlas, DRAWING the atlas and naming the countries. Luckily we had a substitute teacher for half of the year because our really strict teacher had some emergency with a very close friend in another country. She spent most of the time focusing more on culture than geography and we were all SO relieved to not need to do the atlas final and a more traditional final at the end of the year.

Okay so subs arent that important with high school kids. One time our sub never showed up so we sat the oldest looking kid at the teachers desk we figured out how to hook up the projectors to our computers and we put on the office and turned out the lights. We made it about half the class before the teacher next door came over and he only came over bc he heard us watching the office. He literally said "you guys arent doing drugs and stuff" to which we said no. Then he said cool and left us there bc we all collectively agreed to just chill out bc we knew if we were loud and being bad that someone would send a sub.

Even as a student myself, I kinda resent how many of my classmates have 0 respect for subs. I feel really bad for them, because it’s painfully obvious how kids my age see substitutes as a chance to goof off for the whole class period. The bad part for me specifically is that usually this means the whole class is talking and being loud and I’m the only one actually trying to complete the work, so I can’t hear myself think over all the talking. Yes, that’s happened multiple times, and sometimes not even just with substitutes.

As a sub, when I was in a troublesome class I'd feel bad for the students like YOU who really wanted to learn. And I'd tell the class, "Look, if you don't want to do the assignment, fine with me. You're not my kids, and I have three diplomas. But the students who DO want to graduate come first, so if it doesn't get quiet in here real fast, I'm going to pick up the phone and start calling Daddies at home, Mamas at work, and Grannies and church." Little known fact in the U.S. is that every child is entitled, by FEDERAL LAW, to a safe, civilized school environment. Some teachers (and principals) take that very seriously.

He was kind of a no nonsense type of guy, but he was also very friendly and he joked around with the kids from time to time. Sadly, towards the end of my senior year, he passed away. May he continue to rest in peace. He was a great substitute teacher and you could tell he genuinely enjoyed his job.

I once had a supply for like a whole 2 weeks, that and get ready. Told this kid to go missing. She was rude and never listened to us, we tried to help her figure out the work we'd been assigned and she' ignore us, we would continue class as we usually did with our teacher who left (she was prego) and she'd go balistic, she trashed talked us to other teachers on the first day when she hadn't seemed or told us she was that bothered, She loved my ex cause he was a sucky teachers pet who tried so hard to be smart but failed (she may have liked him more as a person but she definitely liked me more academically and when it came to brains), we weren't allowed to make ANY, ANY noise at all, not even a cough or a sneeze without her being mad. Once we had mad her mad as per usual and she had us all put our heads down, and this boy knocked over his water bottle so he went to pick it up to make sure it hadn't spilled, and she was like NO SIT DOWNNNN, so he was like "Hold on it might spill, I'm just gonna pick it up" so when he picked it up she told him and I quote "You're a burden and I'm surprised you have friends, I bet your past teacher hated you, I don't like you thats for sure, you should just stop coming to school, I'm sure nobody would miss you if you went missing", HE PICKED UP A WATER BOTTLE SO IT WOULDN'T SPILL ON THE FLOOOORRRRRR, and when he was like Ayo probably shouldn't say that to a goddamn student she got mad and threw one of her old lady tantrums, called the office and had the vice principal talk to him. None of the teachers believed us when we tried to say she sucked. Needless to say I did not show up the second week.
