If you lose in lotto you can’t get your money back unless you spend more, but with sports cards they will still hold some value depending on the pack and pull. So even if you lose with sports cards you can still get back partial money.

A currency that everyone of every race, creed or color, young or old, male or female, respects that it has value. Conversely what value do you get out of a pack of cards? What does the populace at large think that the value of your cards are? Amongst the minority of people who collect them, it's subjective. Amongst the majority of people who do not, it's effectively ZILCH. Oh, and to cash in on your "winnings" with cards can you just turn the card in and collect your money like you would a winning lottery ticket? I suppose if you met your buyer in the flesh it's possible. More than likely, you're going to have to auction it on eBay, sell it to the guy at the LCS who will only pay you 60% comps because he's only interested in flipping it, or get it graded, all of which will take a percentage of your value away. The point remains, both the lotto scratcher and a massively overpriced pack of cards are dumb ways to pee away your money, but one is dumber than the other. When you are paying that much for so little, you're doing it for the dopamine thrill, not because you love the hobby.

Actually it could help... Because very few people will buy them so very few cards will be available for trade or on the market.. it's like DS2 or endor for Star wars ccg... No one bought endor and DS2 was at the end so short run but now these cards are expensive and very collectible and sought after. Even some uncommons brings in a good price..

Actually it could help... Because very few people will buy them so very few cards will be available for trade or on the market.. it's like DS2 or endor for Star wars ccg... No one bought endor and DS2 was at the end so short run but now these cards are expensive and very collectible and sought after. Even some uncommons brings in a good price..
