Thanks for being patient as I stumbled through the beginning of this year. I had an incredible time in Singapore with Brandon and his team, and I'm excited to finally be ready to share this with you. The purpose of this video isn't to debate the ethics of having multiple accounts or judge the way anyone else chooses to spend their time and money. I'm here to share my perspective on what it takes to be the world's top Pokémon GO player. It's about much more than just grinding - it takes true passion for the game to be able to do what Brandon does, and I have a very deep respect for him and his contributions to the Pokémon GO community, both in Singapore and worldwide. i was biking around helping kids beat raids. and one little kid was like whoa a real trainer :D because i had a cap vest and backpack on. wich is filled with bandages water bottles and small snacks. always come prepared. i also have 2 powerbanks.

I also have been playing on an 8 inch Asus tablet for the last 3-4 years and it is so much more convenient. You can drive and spin pokestops with the tablet on your lap while not even looking. For the rest it is better for your eyes, they never have to zoom in to look at the small phone otherwise.

Nick's narration and editing is quite professional. This video has the feel of a PBS documentary. This is more than just about Brandon or even Pokemon Go. As one woman said, "I'm a senior citizen. Playing with Brandon makes me feel young again." Nick gets it. He understands the complete dynamic of Pokemon, but also community gaming in general. Bravo, Nick.

I'm new to the game starting Father's Day weekend. This video was so beautiful, including all of the people playing who are around my age. I don't want to "grind" like that as I'm happy with casual play. I learned a lot from watching this segment. Thank you Nick and Brandon.

@Lite Envolpe I'd suggest trying to make (or find) a Facebook group for Pokemon GO and ask if there is a chat or Discord for your area (you'll be suprised how much people play). I live in rural Australia and did this and now I'm able to get notified when people are going to a legendary raid. Hope this helps ❤

The trick is to throw the Pokémon when the legendary is doing a move, not when they jump or move to the sides, but when they attack. Throw it in that time zone and it’s easier to catch...

But yeah, maybe he made enough for rent off a small youtube revenue but he's got a family as well, maybe his wife works I still have no clue how he did it back then and even before he was doing Pokemon he was grinding other games just as hard with no KZread account. Curious stuff

"If you're feeling stressed about playing a game, something is clearly wrong." I take this to heart! I tend to stress myself over my progress in many games because I am very competitive, but that often kills my motivation and enjoyment to play. I end up playing hardcore for a relatively short amount of time, and after, I take a very long break or quit entirely. Though, if I'd allowed myself to take it slow and not stress about min-maxing everything all the time, I surely would have more consistent progress and a lot more fun along the way. Brandon seems unbelievably intelligent, and I think we can all learn a lot from him, not just about PoGo but also about life.

I love seeing elderly people play PoGo. Idk it does feel really connecting to very different groups of people you don't usually interact much with.

Haven’t watched this is a long time. First time watching this made me energized to hit lvl40 and make more efficient raid trains. Now the music and editing blew me away. Amazing content

During the kanto tour we had a 50 year old looking man at the park inside his suv with like 5 phones and a sixth one in hand we were joking saying he has 5 accounts but now seeing this I’m actually like :0

What I see in this video is people having fun together. That is the core of Pokémon Go that I so admire; it brings people together.

I am rewatching this video almost 4 years after it was made, and my god I miss when the world was like this, just going all out for a game like this. Ive restarted playing after 3 years and ive been having a lot of fun but this video makes me miss the old days of playing this game to my hearts content in spain (ive since moved to south east asia)

Oh. He lives in Singapore. It basically takes 3 hours on the train to get from one side of the country/city to another. Meaning you can quick travel to places.

I love the game but there is something disturblingly unhealthy about this playing style. And I'm not talking about breaking the rules of the game which is not a big deal. I'm talking about treating a mobile game way too seriously, to an extent where this guy is willing to sacrifice safety of himself and other people in order to be "better" at the game. Come on people, this game is not about useless XP and numbers. It's about walking, exercise, seeing the sides of your city that You never seen before, going to new places, discovering, spending time with friends and family... When You Play more than a few hours a day it will eventually negatively impact your family, relationships, career, self-education...

Eh I don't know. He seems to enjoy himself, and the company he hangs around with already shows he's good with people. And his calculations and map routing shows hclearly shows his ability for math, and scouting. And, maybe skill as a leader as well. I'm sure he can find time for his parents when it counts, and if we're talking about relationship. I doubt he's going to be in one who doesn't like to play games to this extent, so there won't be an issue there. It's not worth anyone's time, to sacrifice your hobby for anyone, as it's just going to make both sides unhappy. Games can be enjoyed various ways, and for him, it's the numbers. It doesn't help the "exploration" argument when Niantic throws in competitive elements such as IV variations and gym capturing. Or people who can't really afford to go anywhere outside their countries, and even if they could, it wouldn't be for Pok'emon, usually. This guy knows the routes, BECAUSE he already explored these routes. You kind of have to, in order to route a map like he does.

I was gonna type this but you already did this for me this is just super weird and disturbing tbh

Idk how I ended up on this old video again, but it still amazes me what a single passionate human being can create. All those people were casual players before they met Brandon. He turned them all into hardcore grinders through his passion for this damn game. He basically created that small group/community of players. Helps that Signgapore is apparently absolutely mad over pokemon go, but doesn't make it less impressive. I will say that it hurts me to think about the amount of money he's put into the game. He basically runs incense, lucky egg and star piece 24/7. He also drives (gas money) around placing lures all over the place. Not to mention the million raids he's done. Then again who am I to count another man's money. Great video.

Like, in my town there are a total of 3 gyms. 1 that i walk closeby to school usually is just a gym and ive seen like 4-5 raids at the place but they have all been like lvl3 or higher.. I picked up the game again last month after a year quit.

Yeah, the summer where the game released everybody in town was playing. From adults to kids to teens. Now its just me, VERY few teens and very few adults.

14:14 I agree with Brandon. If all these maps didn't exist, maybe the community would be closer together. Not everyone has access to these maps/callouts so it does make it unfair. Instead of working together there are cliques to keep everything a secret.
