@@ravirex876 I can only speak for myself, but I find building in Satisfactory fundamentally unfun and extremely grindy. The idea of having to tear down and rebuild a moderately sized sub-factory because I found a more efficient alternative recipe fills me with sheer dread. Things I consider very important, such as trains, are pushed way far into the tech tree, which inevitably leads to more rebuilding, which see above. Basic QoL such as the hoverpack is _tier seven_. Blueprints, an absolutely fundamental feature of the entire genre, is something they actively fought against for years, and then gave us a tiny box that lacks basic features like automatically connecting pipes/wires/belts across multiple stamps of the same blueprint. Like bruh come on... I'm starting to think they hate us.

It doesn't look bad necessarily, but it looks like it lacks any real uniqueness. It basically looks the exact same as satisfactory or factorio but with a new coat of paint. Set up a miner, refine the ores, make plates, then belts... We've seen it all before. The Minecrafty aspect might be enough to differentiate it but I'm not convinced. I guess we will just have to wait and see

Just don't forget its by Paradox Entertainment, who are notorious for selling updates through paid for DLC. Want more content then what you see here? They will release a DLC for that that costs more then the game itself when you buy the DLC for the DLC

And people called Satisfactory a 3D factorio clone years ago. Always the same story. That's how genres work. Different approaches to the same thing. For me the ability to build mines underground and terraform is enough to potentially make it better than Satisfactory after a few content updates.

@@DrPlonk There's a difference between something that is building off the basis of the genre and something thats pretty much the same thing thats come before it. Satisfactory clearly did a lot to advance the genre forward, so did DSP, and games like shapez and mindustry go in a unique enough direction to justify their existence. I just don't see this being like those games. Granted, I haven't played it, so I could be wrong, thats just the impression I get watching this video.

This game is developed by a different studio, paradox is the publisher, and from what i can tell you're getting a whole shit load of good content for only 30 bucks, this game is a good one. I'd give it a shot if you like factorio. I've spent 25 hours and love it so far.

actually they made it right, xenoferrite is the iron, ferrum = iron = red

the blue ore behaves more like copper by being made into wires etc (which is funny since blue ore in games tends to be iron) and the copper/orange ore behaves more like Iron by being used to make metal plates and machine parts

Paradox has a terrible track record but it was both Paradox and Colossal order who decided to rush its release. Let's just be glad they're not take two, who recently fired the entire kerbal space program 2 staff, hopefully CS2 can still improve.

This is only published by Paradox, This has a different dev and they have a roadmap with free updates. I've spent 25 hours on foundry and I can confirm it's very good and i haven't had any bugs, It's similar to factorio and I'm enjoying it more than I enjoy satisfactory.

Looks cool! But I'm not a huge fan of Carl and I'm kinda missing some of the nuance Factorio has with how pollution and biters tie into overall factory progression. Like I don't mind the stress free nature of this game, I just wish it brought more to the table. Still, with Paradox as the publisher I think we can assume that will change down the line.

I have found a love for automation games over the last year, but i don't think they're right in 3D. Think it's ultimately gonna limit everything cos it's being rendered and moved in 3D which will need more processing power, so the automation suffers There's an amazing 2D one called Mindustry that i found recently. Take a look at that. There's 2 campaigns with different play styles. You will want the "Serpulo" campaign. The "Erekir" campaign is more RTS and less automation. There's some automation on Erekir but it's only small things to supplement factory production for units like an RTS. The conveyors in Erekir are basically instantaneous so you don't need to think about the math much. It's not as fun as Serpulo, which is a more open-ended campaign focused on making factories to supply your campaign

Did you just call technum iron when xenoferrite exists? It literally has ferrite in it's name as in 'ferrum = iron', and it's even used to make steel with ignium. Technum is used to craft conductive rods as if it were copper or aluminium.

Imo It's better than satisfactory, It's more similar to factorio than it is satisfactory.

Hey, this is pretty great. I was about to start another run in Dyson Sphere Program -- PS you should seriously give it a shot, it's one of the greats now! -- but I'm gonna wishlist this one. If they don't try to overprice it, I'll buy it the day it drops for EA.

Fun fact, Xenoferrite just means alien iron

Seems like a mash up of Factorio Satisfactory and Dyson Sphere Program. And yes they are all factory games, but that is straight up features from some of them.

No, it's more like Factorio in 3D with some minecraft elements. The way you build belt lines and the fact that you can have multiple inserters to one smelter for instance, it plays more similarly to factorio. I'm enjoying it much more than satisfactory.

Are there changes from demo? It was kinda boring because you could automate everything with just 1 input belts of every ore by just picking items from a bus and sending an output as a new conveyor in the bus. So you can build the whole bus 1 by 1. You would probably want to add a buffer containers on input and outputs though

I think demo had only T2 science packs which was ~4h of content, now with t5 science packs you need like 30h to complete everything

Paradox marketing is in an interesting place right now. 1. They know that seeding codes for early access to Cities Skylines II only to Cities Skylines diehard KZreadrs and sponsoring their coverage was probably a mistake because it led to unrealistic expectations for the game from th ecommunity, along with no understanding of the flaws in the initial release which would directly impact the community. 2. They’re choosing to corrupt a KZreadr who has a competing title’s logo in his profile picture into showing hiis fans, who disproportionately play this one title, this competing-ish game they made. 3. There is no mention of, or comparison with, Satisfactory, which does the one thing Foundry obviously does that Factorio does not: true 3D. Incidentally, I watched the Foundry trailer and Satisfactory is more visually appealing. I am very excited that Foundry is coming on the scene. There are so many good modern factory builders out there, and we gamers can own them all, and marathon our favorites.

For sure, if I was going to play something other then Factorio it would be DSP or Satisfactory. This clone doesn't look that appealing or fun. What it will have of course is a thousand DLC that will add the fun once we have bought the game many times over, since its by Paradox

What made this video so funny for me was the elevator music in the background :) Not convinced of the game, though. Looks like it copied Satisfactory and changed Factorio-recipes using differently named resources. I really hate the, you are copying entire game concepts and styles but shy away of using the same resources like copper and iron because you want to hide the fact you are copying? This is the one thing where nobody minds using the same stuff because science more or less dictates what makes sense and what doesn't. I wish you had play-tested Final Factory instead.

Satisfactory seems to be FAR superior to this?

Really feels like such a substandard version of Factorio - it's cringe :/ it's more accessible, but hasn't replaced the challenge of biters with anything meaningful - unless I've missed something here?
