    Just found this channel a week ago and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorites. One bit of advice, those smart scales need to recalibrate if they’ve been picked up off the ground. When you put it down where you want it, weigh something (anything) at least 3 times. You’re good once it’s giving you a constant reading. Then it’s calibrated and you’ll get correct readings on the fist try....until you move it.

    @@satchitananda1820 Good job proving that you dont know what youre talking about. An Ikeya Formula is simply a manual to sequential conversion kit, that can be installed on any manual car to turn it from H pattern to a 'sequential' up and down only gear lever. They are selling you reinforced gears to convert your manual gearbox. The gearbox Rob bought and that this gentleman are discussing are on completely different levels, if it were that simple, trust me, Rob would do that, but that simply will not hold the power that this car will put down. Dont get me wrong, its a great choice if youre only throwing down 500whp and go drag racing often. Youre not putting down enough power to overcome the strength of the gearbox casing, once you start talking triple that power? Yeah the cheap shit alloy that mass manufacturers use to CAST their crappy gearbox housings will literally shatter into thousands of tiny little pieces. I not dissing you, i actually really want an Ikeya formula for my street car, but its not hardcore racecar material.

  • @biggiecheese5135

    @biggiecheese5135

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@satchitananda1820 Jesus, how stupid are you? "Yeah the cheap shit alloy that mass manufacturers use to CAST their crappy gearbox housings will literally shatter into thousands of tiny little pieces." I never said the gearset was shit, the gearset might even be the same gears they use in an Albins ST1 or a PPG dogbox, the gears were never the problem, the housing that holds the gears was. That's how I KNOW for a damn fact that you have no experience around fast cars, you haven't seen the exploded gearboxes of men who replaced their gearsets and thought that was enough, I fixed too many of them to ever waste my time trying to make something do what it was never designed for. Mazda NEVER designed the gearbox to handle 1400hp, they built it to handle a max of 400hp, but because they're slightly intelligent, they made the gears inside the gear housing, softer than the housing, so the gears would fail and the housing would catch the fragments and not go through the driver's legs like a bullet. Now when you dumbasses feel like you know better than Mazda and the engineers that spent literal decades perfecting this shit, and go ahead and replace the 'soft' gears with 'hard' gears, the gears are no longer the safe failure point, now the gears will never fail and will withstand anything, and therefore it will easily bypass the limitations of the gearbox housing. I want you to notice something kid, this is how you see through marketing, and yes, you're being suckered by Boba motoring, because they're telling you to buy this gearset, the same one they use in their racecar, which is not a lie. But they do not mention that those gears are housed in a billet gearbox, if you try to the same as them without that billet gearbox and you will simply shatter a stock VW gearbox, the gears can handle the power, the gearbox cannot. And the reason why that's so important, is because that's where the cost of those sequential gearboxes go, the housing, not the gears. Look at some proper racing series cars and see what gearboxes they use, and notice that not a single one will use a stock roadcar gearbox, they'll all use specialized sequentials from companies like Albins or PPG.

    I wrote the following before watching the video and I am so happy to see some of my desires totally achieved! ~~~>It always boggles my mind and mystifies me (for YEARS!) WHY sports cars commonly lack sequential shifting I just dont get it at all! WTF? I ride motorcycles and drive a sports car and I just know the bike trans is so much BETTER than flogging and H shifter which no matter how good is never perfection for gear changes. All the things raved about on the best boxes like short throw and smooth engagement are already perfection on the best MC boxes. I do realize there is one problem at least being reverse with a sequential MC box but I feel like there are multiple solutions to that even if it requires using another shift means for reverse or some type of lock out set up which gives you nuetral and reverse isolated from all the other shifting meaning there would never be an issue "finding nuetral" (a problem on many MCs) OR accidently trying to force reverse while at any forward speed...in other words push or pull something and you are in nuetral which also gives a reverse option then and only then.....the ecu can lock out any stupid actions on the drivers part. A perfect enough sequential tranny could be shifted via either paddles OR in an automatic mode by the computer. ... do we really have to wait for seamless tranny to have this??? I firmly believe a sequential TRUE manual transmission with optional automatic shifting would be ideal for a sports car!! Throw in quick clutchess shifting and a robotically (for lack of another word I cant think of) clutch and we could have the best transmission EVER for a sports car! Click it into automatic mode only when for example in stop and go traffic or maybe when clueless GF has driving privlges (or turn that around if its a clueless boy friend of a female sports car owner (or whatever other gender scenerio its all the same) Yes it would add a bit of unsprung weight complexity and cost but not anything like a typical high end automatic trans adds now anyway! It would in every way be better if you ask me for anyone that loves a manual transmission but hates driving in stop and go traffic with one...how heavy or difficult could a robotically operated clutch be anyway?? A electro mechanical hydraulic actuater hooked to the vehicles computer when desired ...OR full time operated that way via ride by wire meaning the clutch pedal could become an electrical switch requiring almost nothing for pedal resistance and could be mapped individually custom to whatever engage/disengage timing a driver prefers from super linear all the way or more like a lightswitch depending on how the vehicle is being used. Probably some of this already is a thing idk but not on any car or motorcycle I could afford

    That's an awesome transmission, my old v10 M6 had the SMG 7 speed, and fully dialed up it would scare you on how hard it shifted. Best car I ever owned next to the model s. But it spun a bearing and that was that. Lol

    When you talked about the flywheels, the other benefit of your new flywheel is that the mass is closer to the center of rotation. On the old flywheel, it's near the outside, which makes it harder to rotate even if it weighs the same as the new weight.

    This is The fastest way of shifting. This is literally the same type of transmission that's used in f1 ( accept that they are using hydraulic instead of pneumatic) . Only another type of transmission that can rival it is ,,koenigsegg light weight transmission " with 7 clutches. Btw. love your content Rob 💪

    You should do a large single paddle shifter on the door side of the driver seat, with a pull for upshift and push for downshift like in WRC cars. That way you’ve always got one hand on the wheel
