Technically strafe matching as well but that's harder to utilize.

I've been playing this game since S1 of OW1, and the amount of excitement this game gives me has dropped exponentially since 2019/20, with a slight uptick during S1-2 for OW2. It doesn't get coverage/recognition outside of the "normal" OW community (using the term "normal" very loosely here), unless it's people talking about the Blizzard Bombshells (TM). Also, with the latest news of PvE being dropped, I don't really see a reason for any more new players to come and play/try the game. I partly want to do this so i can know that for myself. I got good at smash super fast, like within a few months i was top 5 in my region. So like I felt I was naturally good an continued to improve from there. It's hard to tell someone who put more time, but getting worse results, "you're not trying hard enough." when from my perspective i got good easily. Fps isn't my bag, very different environment, and aiming is hard. Getting good, and i mean like plat/diamond, would prove for myself, anyone can become good at whatever they want, as long as they practice, learn, and try to get better.

    5:59 Reaction time in fighting games is fundamental, but not universal. What I mean by this is that you can "learn" to react in other games with fighting game fundamentals much faster then normal, but you don't have Ultra Instinct across every game. Example from the timestamp, guy probably doesn't know what shatter looks like or how fast it really is in person, but will learn to react to it in a variety of ways much faster then a new player without "reaction fundamentals." Most Overwatch high-mid to high level players take this for granted because the game is unironicly as fast as most fighting games and they don't realize it, AND there is no set frame rate to be able to perfectly time abilities making Overwatch arguably HARDER to react to then fighting games. The reaction times and ability to learn HOW to react to stimuli is very similar, and Overwatch, at least in interacting with the enemy, is similar in alot of ways to fighting games moreso then Moba or FPS(including their disdain for cheap ToDs that HEAVILY affect gameplay overall, which we would call in our game one shots like Widow/Hanzo lol)

    This is a really cool video flats. I spent most of middle school and high school playing fighting games competitively so I can really relate to this guy. this guy has pretty good target priority for a bronze player, which would make sense because paying attention to the enemy's win conditions is very important for fighting games. 5:38 you don't need good reaction time to play fighting games, Most of the time we're thinking one step ahead and making an educated guess based on the opponents bad habits. Something I noticed when I started playing more FPS games is that my execution, timing and movement is pretty good; my aim with projectiles and snipers is decent but my aim with rapid fire hitscan and Lasers was trash. My awareness was pretty bad because I used to have tunnel vision for specific areas on the map, so large team fights could be pretty overwhelming at times. I think once this guy improves his aim and learns different character interactions he can dominate lobbies very soon.

  • @A_Typhlosion
    @A_Typhlosion Жыл бұрын

    Wish Flats did more comments on legitimate habits of the tracer over "just have better mechanics" granted the aim/response time wasn't great, but if anything this guy seems like they suffer the most from cooldown management. Sometimes even blinking in positions that actively make them getting kills harder than if they just focused on shooting. They should use pulse more, while also looking behind when and why they should be using blink and recall. Mechanics come with time, but the target prioritization, cooldown management, and over all game sense can be imporved now and I wish that was communicated over what felt like "just get good" in advice form.

    @@wish5615 I'd also like to say, for direct examples of what I'm talking about at 1:07 you blinked back away from Orisa, just to walk to where you were previously at, burning the cooldown while also forcing you to get back to your effective range on foot. So while you did win the team fight, that is something that in the context of say a more organized team fight could get you killed due to pressure from other hitscan or chase down heroes who will punish your rapid cooldown use. While a positive example of this was at 12:08 you walked forwards and pressured moira into using fade, later then blinking once she committed her cooldown. All while managing to stay at your effective range during the whole fight. In all you show promise, with a lot of your issues truly being rooted in both you just now are picking up the shooter genre, in additon to tracer herself a difficult charcter with a high skill floor and arguably the top 3 of skill ceilings. I get these videos are more for entertainment but in your case I legitimately wish you could have gotten more or a serious one I suppose. You have a great capacity for imporvment, just kinda wish you got the advice to match. All the same good luck overwatch and shooters, I know I'll need the same kind of luck once tekken 8 comes around.

    *I LOVE YOUR CONTENT YOU ARE THE REASON I STARTED OVERWATCH AND WANTING TO GET BETTER. I just finally can formulate my own opinion, even if it’s wrong, about gameplay in overwatch and I’m very happy because two months ago I was like “how is that a bad play” and you would explain and I’m like okay noted don’t do that. These videos are actually so educational it’s insane.** To be fair and considering this wasn’t a game this person did “really well” more like the “enemy team is just walking out into spawn and not trying” kind of deal, that Mei didn’t carry. They were just playing the game and taking advantage of the enemy team not playing. This tracer player will easily be better than that Mei with more play time, especially if they just started the game. Let’s say it how it is. It’s impressive to have someone just start the game and they can manage to have the situational awareness they already do. This person barley relied on their team for support, they carried themselves, did you see the amount of med pack regents?! Most bronze players (ONE MONTH INTO THE GAME) are screaming at their “HEALERS” because they took 3 ticks of damage from a flying Moira ball that is all the way in freaking Narnia. Both of these DPS players made it extremely easy for their whole entire team to play comfortable and easy without stressing for damage, “COME HERE FOR HEALING”, “WTF IS OUR TRACER AT MAN?” For a bronze gameplay, fresh with no knowledge and Jay3 pulse bombs, oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah. BEST JOYSTICK CONTENT OUT THERE 😆

    Thought they were fine. Knew to stick around health packs. Had okay target prioriy and played the backline and did some good pulse bombs. They wont be bronze for long

    I swear this guy looks like he's a lot better than most of the Tracers I see in gold, throughout my whole time there, I've only seen like 2 pulse bombs being stuck Also, my dps is bronze, and his aim looks a bit better than mine. Though I rly suck at hitscan so I mainly play Hanzo to get *skillful* *calculated* headshots

    I like how Flats keeps referring to it being an ego vod and how the enemy team is just worse - the guy said that in the original message! He joked about it being an ego vod and said he knew it was more that the enemy team was worse

    This Tracer wasn't too bad, he's probably going to be a gold DPS pretty quickly & then he'll have some learning to do, but he's not bad.
