I Sold My 2022 Civic Si After 5 Months of Ownership | Here is Why...

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I sold my civic Si after only 5 months of ownership. This video takes a dive into the reasons why I sold my car, also the things that I like and dislike about my civic Si, also my final thoughts of owning this car. This is my personal review of my car.
The eleventh-generation Civic Si was unveiled in October 2021 for the 2022 model year. It is only available as a sedan with the discontinuation of the coupe body style. It uses a direct injected 1.5 L turbocharged four-cylinder with variable timing control on the intake and exhaust valves, and variable valve lift on the exhaust valves. It produces slightly less power as a result of a revised powerband, 200 hp and 192 lb⋅ft of torque. Peak horsepower is reached at 6000 rpm, while low end maximum torque is available between 1,800 and 5,000 rpm. The manual transmission gains a rev-matching mode from the Type R and has been reworked. Mechanical differences include better exhaust system flow, fixed-rate dampers and larger brake rotors.

Why are they overpriced? It gets 37mpg, amazing safety ratings, it drives itself on the highway, 6 speed manual and looks amazing and is reasonably fast for its class. The only reason you can’t afford it or barely afford it is because you voted for Joe Biden and he decimated our economy.

If you have one and actually try things with it you will get something pretty sweet. I got everything you could possibly do so far for the 2022 si and I'm at 300 at the wheels and 320 torque. Once a simple drop in turbo comes out add another 50 to 70 hp over the range. I would say you made a pretty little fun car. And you don't compare to a 20 year old cobra mustang. That's the classic situation apples to oranges . They are opposites.

That’s very nice, I just didn’t want to modify the car, first of all the clutch is weak, even with a tune it could slip, second if you modify the car you will actually void the warranty, again I didn’t want to do that, and I didn’t compared the cars, I just compared the feeling that you get behind the wheel, again that is just personal. That was actually my second Personal reason why I decided to sell. The civic does things that the cobra can’t and vice versa.

That is CRAZY trade-in value. I can pick up a new Si locally (though I have to wait for it) at MSRP, and live in the highest cost of living area of the most expensive cost of living state in the US. I understand your "lack of excitement" comment. Let's face it, the Si doesn't have much power an is an ~7 seconds to 60mph car. From your video, though, it looked like you live in a fairly flat area (no mountains) with fairly straight roads. In that environment power is kind for unlocking fun and excitement. Throw in lots of twisty roads with steep plunges on one side, and there are fewer places where power matter as much as handling. I think this car was designed mainly as a weekend canyon carver with mundane workweek commute chops. Different tools for different trades as they say. Thanks for the video.

Good reason to get rid of the Si because you're working from home. If you were making car payments, now you saved a lot of money every month. If you had the title to your car, then it's nice to have extra cash in your bank account. especially in this uncertain time. I think your Mustang is a lot more fun to drive, and it sounds great! the power band is linier because it is FI, unlike your turbo Si which take some getting use to. it is a different driving experience. if you don't turn around and look at your car when you walk away or get excited when you start the engine, then it is time to let her go.

The new civic SI is basically just a way for someone looking for a civic to get a manual sedan version with a little bit of refined suspension, because in the end it has the same engine as the base civic it's just "tuned different" and more "sporty". Good job getting a profit out of the Si. I scratch my head when I see folks buying them thinking they are fast. They are not very fast, and even with the looks they are just a little faster than a Civic Touring with the CVT. I get the draw to the looks of the newer Civic, I like it alot. But I know it is not a sports car in the 2023 standard. I think the look of the exterior and the inside bells and whistles sell it for me. But I would buy one fully knowing there are fast sedans for the same price out there currently.

@@karlitozdestroye Doesn’t really matter the make or the year. I’d personally only shop used. No point in taking the depreciation hit. You can pretty much get what ever you want for 8-10k in the used market. I’m a Harley guy and used sportsters are easy to come by for 5-8k. Then again, 5-8k can get you a brand new beginner Asian bike off the lot or a more powerful one that’s used. Really depends on what you want ig.

Hey Buddy, I completely understand your reasons to unsubscribe to this channel. If the Civic Si was the only reason why you watch my channel then by all means feel free to do so, heck I would probably would do the same. As a creator I really hope that the people that watch my channel are here for the content that we create and put so much work into, and are not here for just a car, a car could get wrecked, stolen and it is at the end of the day it is replaceable. The great news is that there are plenty of content here on KZread for the 22 Civic Si. I really hope you have a great day sir.

You missed it, I wasn't referring to the power or just being fast. It was about the feeling of driving something special, the Si just didn't delivered that feeling for me.

1st of all. The civic SI is not a sports car. It never had been a sports car. And your reference is a mustang Cobra! It's a 4 cyl at the end of the day! Look at the history of a civic SI. Your comparing a Non sports car to sports car! Go figure.

If you're spending $40k on a enthusiast vehicle I want something more. I'm sorry 0-60 in 7 seconds doesn't excite me in 2022 maybe if it was 2006 still
