Probably sleeping in the water as it is too hot out on the rocks. The sea lions and seals are used to extremely cold conditions and it would overheat on this island, the rock pool would have cooled it down.

I know I've asked before, but damn you should wear cleats!. I've rock hopped for 40 years, and to me it is crazy to not use them. Although I know you are very safety minded. Good to see you use PFD's. One time, I got knocked over by a wave at North Head platform ( where you need to climb down the cliff on chains and ladders ), and my arse got destroyed by barnacles so much had to go to the GP!. It looked like Freddy Kruger ran his hand over my arse. That was in early 2000's, and I still have the scars, and I was wearing cleats. It looks slippery where you are there withe the weed etc everywhere. Great video mate!

I haven’t tried them but know a few guys that have and they prefer just the socks on the slippery black granite. From what I hear they do work very well but perhaps better on slightly softer rock? Get knocked off your feet with barnacles on the rocks would be nasty!

Great video. What a magical place. I’ve seen you cook up a curry many times and I think you said it was a packed thing. What packet mix do you use? I’m a very amateur fisherman and even more amateur of a cook 🤣 it looks yummy, so I’d like to try it. Thanks again, I’m alway excited when I get a notification of your videos.

If you go back a few episodes Gido often shows the packets he buys for their dinners. If you ever get really keen on remote area camping where you have to carry your stuff buy a food dryer (or a vacuum sealer) and cook up your meals before you go then dry them (or vacuum seal). They will reconstitute quickly with some boiling water.

Good weather tomorrow I'm going give it a crake had a go australia day went for huge walk over the back of 2 peoples Bay no luck yet hah just rass and break sea, I don't know any were really, any suggestions, are u using a sinker wen u use crab or any bait set up, I'm using a my own snapper rig set up sinker at the bottom two 7.0 hooks separated up the trace is this saficient for groper ect

Hey Gido, great video. Can you help with this? If I fall off my fishing kayak the lifejacket rides up around my head. Would a climbing harness or such a thing help if I clipped it to my lifejacket?

I wouldn’t use a climbing harness. Expensive piece to just get salty. It either needs to be tighter which wont be so comfortable or a strap that goes under and up. Ive seen them on some PFDs. Just try not to get a wedgie haha

Ta. Your videos are great. How far east do these species really go… you seem to find them so easily in WA it’s a bit harder in south aus side I think to find them as thick but maybe I’m just bad :D

You should get all the same species in south oz. Not sure in breaksea cod but definitely Groper and Harlequin
