@@FlywheelFilmsSo the road was closed by the police? That other vehicle (not the subaru seen next to the handicapped space) was yours as well? Plus as long as the handicapped sign is up that is a handicapped space. It even has the extra space next to it and ramp for sidewalk. To Be Clear.

Ordered one halfway through this video.

I installed the module from MX5Things and it was so buggy that I sent it back. Sometimes it would work and then sometimes it would not work. I would have to pull over and restart the Miata a few times to reset it. Even after reprogramming a few times no such luck. When I asked for a replacement. the guy said that he had no idea how to correct it even with another one. Sooo, I bit the bullet and bought a Smart Top module which cost more than twice as much but guess what! It works with no bugs! Most of you will end up getting the original one like me after you get tired of dealing with the bugs. Yes it was like $369.00 but still worth it!

I was looking for a comment on this. Same happened to me when I purchased it. It started bugging out, flashing the PRHT light and not working. I was left with the top down even after restarting multiple times and had to take it out to be able to close it. It seems the wiring on this device is causing the problem, so I'm in the process of getting a replacement. If a new unit works, I'll leave it at that, but if I'm not lucky, I'll have to do the same and get the Smart Top. We'll see.

@@saltychop9315 ...Good luck. Like I said, the person at MX5Things said he had no way to fix the problems so no replacement was given. Mine was also flashing the light. No problems with the FlyingMiata one.

@@scottoworn that some bullshit, if he sold you a defective item, the least he could do is take it back and send a new one, but whatever, at least you got the Smart Top. I purchased the module through FM, so they’re doing the warranty replacement for me, but as it’s out of stock, I’m stuck waiting… hopefully the second one will work, if not, I’ll ask for a refund and I’ll have to suck it up and buy the expensive one instead.

i've installed mine this week also. simple yet so satisfying to be able to roll and open/close your top!!!

Looking to get a NC soon and this looks to be a perfect starting point for the usable modifications.

Best mod for the NC. Have it since 12 months. But disconnecting this white Mazda plug is a real pain in them a.... and the hardest part of the mod😅

In my ND (similar mechanism to NC) I can go top up at 60 mph and top down at 50 mph on fwy. Top down is harder at higher speeds, too much wind creates a umbrella and the roof will be stuck until you slow down to 50ish). Nice being able to go top up/down if rain starts pouring.

Strangely I did mine a fortnight ago. Totally life changing.

omg not only the wait time but you took a right from the left turn lane after the light turned red hahahahhahahaahah this is exactly what its like when I try to do the roof at a traffic light. There are a number of little controller mods I need to get for my RF but this is #1 for sure.

My previous Lexus IS hardtop convertible took 20 seconds and had to under 5mph as well.

I use the one-touch SmartTop up to 60km/h, the only downside is trying to flick the latch back to clear the Cybul rollbar

Careful you don't hit a bump in the road while the top is operating. This could cause it to kink and jam.

Can't believe you didn't have this. It's an amazing flex pulling up to or away from a stop. Sure your car is faster.... But can you do this?

I installed mine last week and it's super nice but it is a little finicky like the system won't respond without hitting the close button then the open button. Anyone else have any issues like that?

I recently got my PRHT about a week ago and installed it on my NC3. Everything was running great without any issues, but today I encountered a problem: the roof wont respond, the check engine light came on, and both the roof and gear indicators were blinking. (Still dont understand how can it related to engine check & gearbox, bcoz when it happened the gearbox shifting was so harsh, easily noticeable different from normal condition) I ended up removing the PRHT and everything went back to normal. I tried reinstalling it, but the same issue keeps happening. Has anyone experienced the same problem?

Did you disconnect the battery to install?

There is no best single upgrade just bad, good, surprising and necessary. Me I rate this as a solid good mod nice to have but I can live with out it…..unless I saw it going cheap second hand I’m not going out of my way. Just seen the price £140 that’s a ripoff defo a second hand thing for me.😂…… I take it back smarttop are charging £350 and it’s the same thing.
