you can make more at McDonalds than scanning cds
Finally you got a scanner. It's definitely a game changer.
I get so frustrated. There is a goodwill here in town that has cds and stacks of them but I can't find a profit from em! Thanks for this video I am going to use it when I go to the store tomorrow
Hopefully checking each disk for scratches. More than a minor mark or 2 and Cds get returned frequently. I've been selling Cds since 2002. Good luck!
Was missing those daily uploads! Glad to see we got another banger vid 🔥

So much going on, I sadly had to stop with that lol. It was taking so much time out of the day, but I did manage to do 16 straight which is more than I have ever done in my life on KZread. Hopefully I can beat that record soon :)

THE ONLY CD I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT FROM YOU WAS BOB MARLEY THE ONE YOU PUT BACK, AND A MOVIE COMING OUT ABOUT HIS LIFE .
Your GW has no cell service either? I go to a lot and notice how bad their cell service is. They have to all be using cell blockers.
Oh Wow 😯 How cool, thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks for the video and information
Merry Christmas to you and your family
Very nice!
Lol this is something I'll definetly do with DVD's although I feel weird doing this.
My best thrift (charity shop here in Britain) store cd find, a mint looking copy of ABBA - The Visitors for 50p (64c). It was a first pressing that I resold for £100 ($127 U.S) and that was acceptance of an eBay ‘best offer’ too as I need some funds asap.
I'd be interested in knowing how you handle saving and things as a reseller

I have money come out of my bank account automatically daily so I dont notice it. Its been working great for me. Just have it get transfered into Credit Karma Savings or another app. I make the amount small enough so I dont even notice it come out every day. If I tried doing it manually I would forget all the time. If I had it come out Weekly or monthly in larger amounts, it would be so noticeable that it would bother me lol.
This is cool, what service do you use to ship products to Amazon?
The holiday stuff either sells fast or sits on a shelf untio next year.
i have that idol one its cool to know its worth money.
Did you find out the issue with the Opticon? Will you retrun to seller and perhaps buy a new one ? great video
In your opinion, would you still grab that Don Giovanni CD at minute 4:14 even though the rank is really high at 444,000 out of 726,000? I personally would leave that behind with the new low stock fees coming in April. You'll have to pay per month while you pray that it sells.
Loved watching this one! Im from Australia and I’ve recently started shifting my focus more to music and have definitely been making more money. Do you come across CD Singles in the US much?
@ThriftSchool

Oh yeah. I See singles all the time. Usually little to no value on amazon sadly though
I wondered why you never used a bluetooth scanner since you like to go through tons of media. Too bad it did not work this time :x
I would love to get started doing this. I currently sell Magic the Gathering cards on Ebay and I've always been scared to try Amazon because I'm worried if I send my stuff in to FBA that it will just sit there and I won't make money and I'll actually lose money. Any advice?

Try your best to pay attention to the Ranks on Amazon to know how fast certain items sell. Each category has a different rank that you want to try and stay under. CDs for example, I try to stay under 250k. Video Games I stay under 100k. Books I stay Under 2 Million. Its all a bit different. There are some videos on KZread and some Blog Posts online explaining everything you need to know about Amazon Ranks.
Put Velcro on the back of your case and the scanner to make it easier

How good of condition do the discs need to be to sell?
@fpgaruda9966

I’ve bought and sold CD’s in different conditions. Just be honest in the description of the product in your listing. I tend to be very critical in rating the wear. I definitely have purchased some that when I get are much worse than the seller description. Quite a few sellers don’t pack properly so I constantly get shipped cracked cd cases. Don’t bother trying to sell beat up cheap media but if you find something rare, it can still be worth while, no matter the condition.
Can I ask how you tell from the rank how quick it will sell. Say it's under 10k in CDs how do you know you're going to get the sale. I'm assuming different categories have different amounts you want to ideally be under?
@ThriftSchool

Yeah all different categories have different rank thresholds to learn. For CDs under 10k is a super fast sale. I try to stay under 250k for any CD I buy. But like I showed in the video, I sometimes go higher if there are no FBA Sellers on the listing or if the price is super high and it is worth possibly sitting on the Item for a while. If I send something in and it has a rank of 300k or a bit more I know it can sit for months up to 1 year. But there have been times where I think something will take super long to sell because it has a high rank and it sells within a day of it being listed. Its just the luck of the draw in some cases. I even have CDs that have ranks under 100k that have sat for months for some unknown reason. Way longer than they should sit.

@@ThriftSchool Awesome. Many thanks for the helpful info. I've been doing ebay for a few years here in the UK and looking to get into Amazon so this helps 👍
Do you use a 3rd party app to scan these faster or just the FBA app? You must be there all day!
What app is that?
its 5% and not 0.05% :D

What's a good rank range to be in?
@Miguel-Arias
7 ай бұрын
It depends on the category. A large category like toys has about 150 monthly sales at a 100k rank. Small categories like musical instruments barely sell 30 per month at rank of 30k. You can google "sales rank estimator" and try out the range for yourself.
Another great video, was that a Wedding Ring we saw at the end? Congrats if it is.

Discogs can be decent to sell online too, especially for CDs
@ThriftSchool
7 ай бұрын
I have never messed with Discogs, I know it exists, but for me to open another shop online to sell through would probably be stretching myself too thin. I already sell on Amazon FBA, Amazon Merchant, 2 Ebay Stores, Mercari and Local Sales through FB Marketplace. All of that and then Listing KZread videos, makes it tough to try another listing platform. I wanted to try WhatNot, but I know you need to build up a following on there to get decent sales. Thats probably my next stop.

agreed, discogs is easy. No listing fees. List it and wait til it sells. They have a tool to make bulk changes, if you want to provide periodic discounts to help move items.

people who buy cds go to goodwill too.and garage sales etc.plus we watch hes videos ,if he buys it for 1 dollar ,i would not be buying off him for 12 dollars like he says,i think hes just making youtube content,no one is paying 5 times the price for goodwill cds on line.
